Wandering around HK a few weekends back, I was once again astounded at the sheer number of massage places. All those little signs for little or even medium-sized massage places up flights of stairs.

There must be thousands of them in HK, so I'm wondering how many of them are 100% legit. Just foot massage and nothing else, or all rub but no tug. Or even if there is such a thing there, at least with these smaller shops. And I'm amazed also that they can all stay in business, unless every second person in HK is regularly getting a massage!

This has piqued my curiosity so is welcome any insight from locals and regular HK visitors about this whole 'massags' scene!

Been away from this forum for awhile, but I'm headed back to HK soon and thought I had better catch up on the latest info. I do not recall exactly the price structure, but I believe it was about HK2000-2500 for short time (2 hrs. Door-to-door) and about HK4500 for overnight, pricing about the same at both places, which for overnight is actually a discount from what it was 10 years ago!

I plan to revisit my favorites on this trip, but hope to try at least one new place during my short visit. Older posts made it sound like Hari's / Harry's (don't know proper spelling, I've never been) in the Holiday Inn at TST was a good place for finding talent. Any updated info about this would be greatly appreciated. I promise detailed reports in return! Thanks in advance.

Things are changing a bit. The pharmacies are tightening up on some stuff. The only way to really find out is to ask. Some of the stuff that one used to be able to get are now restricted because of potential abuse or danger. Most of the pharmacies are similar though not all will stock all drugs. If you want something, ask. Some pharmacies can usually get some pills in a couple days.

There is a growing problem with generics nowadays. Impurities are entering some of the products through manufacturing or raw ingredients from China and India. Shortcuts or new processes are introducing by products. It is not a guarantee but it is worth while to get generics that are also sold in the US.

As for the two pills most readers seek, they are everywhere at most pharmacies without script. Your chances of getting the real deal is better if you get a generic.

Fanda Pharmacy is well known here as a HK source of Viagra and Cialis over the counter, no prescription required, although some have said it's a bit expensive, well maybe that's very relatively speaking compared to prescription prices in most other cities.

On my visit to HK a few weeks back I scouted out a new pharmacy which was recommended to me. It's SHIU TAK dispensary Queens Road, Sheung Wan.

Location is not far from Sheung Wan station, see screenshot from Google Maps.

For landmarks to orient yourself, it's across the road from a Marketplace mini-mart and a place called Central Mansion, as shown in one of the attached photos.

The shop looks just like any of the millions of others in HK.

I've also attached a copy of the shop's business card, might be handy if you show it to a taxi driver he can know exactly where to take you. Also note that like so many Hk businesses Shiu Tak is on WhatsApp, the guy at the counter wrote only the local number onto the card, the complete number is +852 6102 8795. This can also be handy to check quickly things like opening hours, if they have a certain product and how much.

I was shopping for some sleeping tablets, got 10 x 7.5 MG zopiclone for HKD $30 (generic), and they have sell a few other prescription drugs over the counter such as stillnox aka Zolpidem, valium aka Zolpidem, and modafinil aka Provigil, so it's worth asking about whatever you might want.

As to those 'helpers' for chaps who need them:

* Viagra, 4 x 100 MG tabs for HKD $140 (generic).

* Cialis, 4 x 20-MG tabs for HKD $450 (genuine only).
