Traffic did OK for the first 6 months.

I am sad as Laguna used to be my favorite most nights of the week and especially Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I am a local and there was a great group that used to hang out there. On Sundays, if we were early, we would start with 109. Then around 4:30 head over to Makati for free food. By 6 it was time for Laguna. I even met my long-time Indo GF one late night there.

Physically it was not very nice. It had ambiance, but I am not sure how to describe it; maybe just well worn. But it had a great energy, a flow. Kind of like the Cheers of Wanchai. I find that almost all of the women in Wanchai fall into three categories: Helpers looking for a their own entertainment and maybe to make a friend, working girls and those who will go either way depending on whether they like you. Laguna had a nice mix of all three. And there was never a night when you would not meet a great woman, of one sort or the other. It had a great balance.

I have never really felt that in J Forest. I rarely bump into people I know there. In fact, most of the times when I have checked it out, J Forest it has been almost empty. I have on the odd Sundday found a good crowd there, but not regularly.

As for Fenwicks, it never was my cup of tea, and like Traffic, it always felt too commercial with only working girls. I remember Traffic ran the free standard drinks promotion from 10pm. It got my mates there a few times, but the place just felt like you were being hustled from all sides. If you were not there to buy a lady, or wanted to have a great night first, they have no time for you. The women were all business. I can't believe that promotion helped at all. The Bar did not make any money, the bar tenders didn't get tipped and who wants to pay $100 for a ladies drink when regular drinks are free? You can feel the hustle.

I still have not made my mind up about Escape. I quite like the renovation. The bands are quite good. There are lots of beautiful women, but rarely do I meet someone I like. Mostly there I find pure working girls, though there are exceptions. On the other hand, it is a fun option to bring someone I met elsewhere – it feels slight more upmarket.

I always liked the music at Amazonia and, am embarrassed to say, at Neptune II. So Neptune II's band was not bluesy enough. Not hard enough. And, they did play Dancing Queen too often. Anyone remember Annie, Neptune's female singer a few years back? She was terrific. Listening to her always made me horny, and in need of a GFE of the Filipina sort. And now I miss Dino. Anyone know what happened to him? You could always count on Dino to tip his hat to you as you walked in, then to come greet with a big smile the woman who had grabbed your attention for the evening.

I am increasingly finding Neptune II to my liking on Sunday afternoons, and even on Saturdays. With the Helpers looking to blow off some steam, it is a great time. On Saturday afternoons there is not a big crowd, but it is enthusiastic and seems to be growing.

Unfortunately, at night though I find the smoke in Neptune II unbearable. Some nights it is like pre-2009 in there. No Dino and too much smoke, so I rarely go at night anymore. There are plenty of girls elsewhere.

Which brings us around to New Makati. Home sweet home. I find that without Laguna, I don't often make the run down the bars of Lockhart Road, and just stay put in Makati.

I have not mentioned money. That is well covered I think elsewhere. Being local I am on a slightly different tariff. In fact, I can't remember the last time it cost more than a smile, a few drinks or dinner.

If I wanted black girls I'd go to Africa. I'm not racist I just prefer Asian and I find that the black girls are too pushy and get offensive if you don't want to even talk to them. Will comment, too, on a bit of shitty attitude from the Nep II fellows when an idiot gweilo (French, methinks) wearing an "I (heart) alcohol" T-shirt tipped over my nearly full $52 beer. The Thai girls I was dancing with grabbed his arm so that he would not get away. He shrugged and mumbled something, not fully offering to replace it (not sure what the protocol is here, but it seems like that would be the right thing to do, as if "the right thing" is ever fucking done at that firetrap. I told Frenchie that I'd see if the bar would replace it, and, if so, he would be off the hook. A waitress cleaning up the mess is told about the accident and she summons a manager who brings another beer. Then he held out his hand for my payment. I calmy explained what happened, pointed at Frenchie. At that point the manager did a 160-degree swivel to take the beer back to the bar. The Thai girls at this point were screeching in indignation on my behalf, god bless the cuties. I marched over to the manager and told them,"Look at this face. Have you not seen it here before? Many, many times?" So the guy relented and handed over the beer (which would have been dumped down the drain). Then again, it was not the bar's fault that the beer was spilled. My strategy in the future will be to guard the brew. And nurse it so that I halt turning over too much of my hard-earned cash to these joints, with lousy service to boot.

On a parting note, I would solicit some advice for payment for a regular Indo. Nice girl Miss Y, whom I had taken to dinner and a nice conversation at stanley, stayed overnight, two shots, CIM, just a great lay. She was an "up to you" on payment girl the first time I rented her services a couple months ago. Our day out was a nice GFE, though as it always turns out with these WL's you get the tales of woe, the child back home, the shitty husband (she says she is separated, not divorced, but has been in HK for five years. Also a story about a month or so in HK jail on a visa violation (the review: food not so bad, and she got to spend time with other Indos, as they are segregated). Strange thing is that she said she was given a 3-year visa to stay, but cannot work. That is a bit contrary to commonsense, so I do not know how much of it to believe. She says she is in love with a 42 year old Brit (who had at one point told her he would turn her in to the authorities, what a *). So, guys, these girls do have feelings. Handed her $500HK as we waited at the elevator on the way out the next morning. She seemed OK with the sum.

Your 5 is worth a lot more to her. Worst case scenario, your were gamed. Best case scenario, you helped a nice girl out and took what you wanted. Take a bus home for the next several days and you would have saved that amount. Think of it as coming from the Wildhawk Charity Fund; very low admin expenses.

The story is mainly true. There are 2 groups.

1) Girls get probation for 2 years. Report to Police once a month. But aren't allowed to work. Not supposed to go to bars. Ha Ha ha. Get some some help from the Government.

2) Girls claim to be refugees. Can't go back home. This can go for 2 to 3 years. Nearly always rejected.

The date is May 17. The bar staff tells me the guys get free drinks ("only one at a time," says a bartendress) from 7 to 9 pm.

Not a lot of new talent on Tuesday night, but it is an agreeable group of girls. Also checked out Escape and Neptune II, but did not buy. Guess I am getting particular in my old age, but then again the girls at Escape are just a big pain in the ass. The Russians / CIS really don't look too good to me, ditto the Colombians. A rather sad selection, so I did not seek pricing information (and sorry for that) , but based on the location I'm guessing a premium is sought for their, ahem, exoticism.

At the front door of Escape was the usual Indian arguing about why he was being discriminated against ("why you tell me I have to buy ticket? You didn't make me buy ticket last time!") Well, pal, the management of the place is just shit. One example: I paid $70 for a $62 beer and change was not brought back. Now I would typically give the change back, but that it was not returned, to me, is exceedingly bad form. Bad attitudes of the staff, bad attitudes of the WGs and I'm scratching that hole off my list, United Nations of Poontang or no UN of poon. (Report also a horde of Northern Sisters, some nice tall ones, if you're into the look; one who sorta appealed to me looked a bit like the porn star Asia Carrerra at her prime, pre-boobjob, though I suspect she was strung out on something.)

Nep II had a lot of familiar faces, including the funny little Indo who wears the white short-shorts, G-string, (tattoo above the butt). As I cannot envision what she would look like with the mascara chiseled off and the five-inch eyelashes removed, I demurred, but what a spinner. She's been around a while. Do not know about it but on the referred web site map at 11 o'clock is a pharmacy and a first floor dining area to meet your "supplier." I am sure this is stuff you already know that BKK will probably be cheaper and that you should carry a couple empty boxes or packaging to show the pharmacy / shops. Cuts through language barrier quickly. TST ethnic shops are good but they might suspect you are LE.
