To scratch that midday itch, I went to the Swatow street joint where I've had success in the past. This time, however, I had a pretty good massage and absolutely nothing else. Not even stray hands anywhere near the little dude.

So, to balance out my disappointment, looked up go 141 and went to 163 Hennessy. Got a pretty good massage, and a very good handie. All was not lost.

I was planning my first solo trip to HK and wanted some advice from members on the exact time frame and their impact on general Wanchai and 141 action.

I was planning for either the week of October 5th or 19th. The week of the 5th seems hotter and closer to the October 1 holiday. The 19th seems more expensive but further from the holiday and may cooler and more comfortable. Thoughts?

Also, I was looking at staying at the Fleming, Novotel or Wharney. Am I overlooking any?

I do. I do both bars and walk-ups. Frankly, I'm a drinker and I love a WG bar scene. It's pretty much my favorite activity so I tend to focus my energies there when I'm in a city where there IS a WG bar scene.

Sadly for me on my last two visits to Hong Kong I wasn't able to sample any take-out cuisine from the Wanchai bars, so can any of the locals or frequent visitors let me know what current pricing is like? I think the last time I actually had a chance to bring a girl back to my hotel it was 1200 LT, and that was a couple years ago (plus, it was late and it was from New Makati, both of which may have contributed to a lower than average price).

I know some of the stunners in Escape start negotiating at 3 k for ST, but aside from that silliness, what are gents paying for top quality LT from Escape, Hong Kong Cafe, or NM? Is my sense that those 3 bars are generally going to be HIGH to LOW in that order when it comes to pricing?

On my last trip just a few months ago I came down with a bit of a cold so I didn't get any play time at all, just a miserably dejected few hours in Escape nursing my beer and wishing I wasn't sick!

Tiger is being a bit too subtle for you methinks, although his advice to read back a few posts is still good.

DH refers to domestic helpers of which there are 1000's in HK, primarily from Philippines and Indonesia.

Most contracts allow the girls (women?) a day off, and it's usually Sunday so the filipinas can go to Mass and then meet their friends at those raucous, chicken-shed type of gatherings at a few spots in the city and around Admiralty where they virtually take over a whole city block to picnic, play cards and chatter chatter chatter. Many of the pinays go to the bars instead (after Mass of course lol) and try to supplement their income with a willing foreigner. In most cases they will have a curfew time and may need to leave early to get back to the employer, especially if they are working out in Sha Tin or somewhere distant like that. Not all girls in the bar / discos are looking for a guy, but you will soon work out which are interested and which are there just to dance and have fun.

Most likely they were; that's not the kind of bar where single girls will hang out for a glass of wine after a hard day's work at the office.

One of the women in a group of three was smiling at me, a lot. Since Hari's no longer allows working girls, I figure she was attracted to my handsome, debonair good looks. Or there's an outside chance she's a Scientologist or beer-drinking Mormon who wanted to meet me, convert me and have my children.

I just landed in HK and this will be my 4th trip here. Previously I've used walkups exclusively and I've read a little about the wan chai bars, but just curious, how old are the FLs there? I'm guessing the Sunday DHs are usually 30+? I've also read a report a while back that said 18-25 are extremely rare? Then I'm guessing attractive 18-25's are even rarer?

I prefer girls in their early / mid 20's at most, will I have any luck in these bars or should I stick with walkups / appointments?

You can definitely find some hotties in the clubs, some in their 20's, most not. Sundays of course are usually going strong but there are lots that are hard on the eyes. If I were you, I would stick with the 141 ladies and then head over to Lockhart Road clubs in the evening.
