I need to understand a few things before taking my girl to a 4/5 star hotel and to a service apartment booked thru AirBnB.

Hotels:

1. If we check-in together, do they ask for ID proof of both the guests?

2. Do 4/5 star hotels accept local address proof?

3. If I've booked the room for a single guest (double bed room), is it ok to take a guest to the room?

4. Is it ok for her to enter the room sometimes after I've checked in without asking anyone at the counter?

Service Apt thru AirBnB / other booking sites:.

This is in response to 4/5 star hotel rules because that's what I always book.

1) If you are both checking in on double occupancy. Then of course both IDs will be required.

2) Local address proof. Yes no problem.

3) If you are on single occupancy, you can still invite guests up to 8 or 9 pm (as long as they are not staying overnight) - you can do it in two ways, meet your guest in the lobby and then take her to the room; or you can ask her to ask for you at the reception and after a confirmation from you they will send her to your room (an employee will help with the lift key card).

4) see above.

One additional thing. In case you think it's going to be overnight, just tell the reception that you are expecting a friend and can they please convert it to double occupancy. Then when the lady arrives they will just log her in using her ID.

Trust me star hotels are not bothered with any moral policing. They strictly follow a live and let live policy. As long as you don't break their mostly reasonable rules.

In search of greener pastures, I reached out to Mizmar spa. Called them up and fixed up an appointment with the oft recommended A.

Reached on time, paid the counter and was shown into a room. While the room and the bed was large, the shower enclosure was tiny. There was no table or drawer. Only a chair. And the room has lots of signs of repair e. G. White paste filled in between tiles.

After taking a quick shower and waiting for 10 min, was told that A is stuck in traffic and will take some more time to reach. Time was not defined despite asking twice. Was given a choice to go ahead with R. The only other Thai available at that point of time. I chose to go ahead rather than wait.
