I'd come straight to the point.

Legality: it's a grey area. I don't think bill has passed yet. However you can't buy bitcoins through credit, debit or even netbanking. If you are found dealing in crypto, your bank account shall be blocked.

How to buy crypto: use peer to peer services like wazirx, localbitcoins.
