Great luck you have there. Didn't know Musro is so wild. Always thought it's more for the rich kids.

    Anyway. thanks for the info

    Thanks

Thanks, guys (XXL, Ebowan, Ekspat) , for your great intel.

Per your advice, I have delayed my trip for a week to avoid Ramadan and the post Ramadan holidays.

Just wondering if I need to be there on a weekend for places like Stadium and other clubs to be good, or if Mon - Thurs as just as good as Fri - Sun? Hoping to meet some non-pros too.

If any of you are around in the first half of Nov, let me know and I'll buy you some rounds. PM me.

Always happy to show anyone around here in Bangkok also.

The rails sound wild. I am more interested in going just top check them out than partake.

    Railings

There's such a place in JKT that is fairly central. Take a cab to "Jalan Blora". That's a small red-light district not far from Plaza Indonezia. Tell the taxi to drive to the end of Jalan Blora, then turn left, into a street I don't know the name of but it can't be missed because it makes a right angle with Jalan Blora (the straight-on direction and the to-the-right directions are dead ends).

Once you've turned left, drive straight on for about a mile or two with the railings on your right until you see lots of bajai's waiting by the street side. That's opposite where the action is, you have to walk twenty yards into the field.

In a spot, show these words to the driver once you are in Jalan Blora: "area prostitusi murah, di pinggir jalan, dekat kereta api".

You need to go after dark but I would advise to ask the cabbie to park and walk with you among the motley crowd you will find assembled there. Virtually none of the girl will have an ID, which may be a problem in case the police stops you on your way back to the hotel. You can also have the girls there and then, if you can stomach the lack of hygene. Usually, I don't mind a bit of sleaziness but that was too much for me. I had no sense of insecurity except on the fringe of the area where a few warias (transvestites/transexuals) turned up. Finally, if you bareback one of those girls, the odds are 100% in favour of your getting the claps.

Right, but 3rd and 4th are very important muslim public holidays. One week later is a better choice IMHO.

    3. I have been reading about lots of P4P activity in railway carriages and such. Is this only in Bandung? Is this scene safe crime wise for a foreigner? I am been in some pretty tough areas, but knwo nothing about this one.

    Trip Planning

    Hi Bros,

A few quick questions from a long time Thai hand, but somewhat new to Indo (first trip earlier this year - awesome). Any help from you guys would be really appreciated.

    1. I am making plans for my next trip, and was thinking of arriving on Nov 3rd. Ramadan ends on the 2nd, right? Question is: are all the bars (Stadium, etc) open for biz on the 3rd, or should I push the trip back later?

    2. Also, if I visit instead just on weekdays (maybe 7-10 Nov), does that limit the nightlife options much? Is everything in the clubs (Club 1001, Stadium, etc) happening Thurs-Sun?

    3. I have been reading about lots of P4P activity in railway carriages and such. Is this only in Bandung? Is this scene safe crime wise for a foreigner? I am been in some pretty tough areas, but knwo nothing about this one.

    Thanks!

    Jakarta during Ramadhan

It is the first time for me, that I am here during Ramadhan. I am surprised of how many girls are still around.

Have been to 30 on Friday. That place was quite busy. I guess because a few places are closed, don't ask me which ones, the popular hotel spots are getting filled up during this time. Besides all the regulars a huge amount of very hot girls were hanging around there. At 1: 30 the music stopped.

Moved to Musro. Unbelivible, that place was open till 5 o'clock. It was wild. A girl kept asking me, if I am gay. I asked her what I have to do that she belives me, I am not. She took me to a dark couch section and started to suck my dick. She just wanted to check, if I react "positiv". Back by the bar she took my hand and moved it under her skirt. A friend of her came over and started to "through" her tongue in my trought.

What happend now, beats the whole story. On the way to the toilet I got stopped by another girl. She immediately started to kiss me. Coming back from the toilet she started again to kiss me and put her hand in my pants. And now guess what. She is not indonesian. She is a south american girl who works in a 5 star hotel. I am not gonna tell you which hotel, but I am pretty sure, a lot of you guys have seen here a few times at her working spot. Hehehe.

I described here my situation, that two girls at the bar ar "waiting" for me. "I suck your cock as good as one of them" she said. . Hmmm. So she went to the lobby, I paid the bill at the bar, excused myself and drove with her to my appartement. Well, I can tell you one thing, she realy sucked my little friend for about half an hour and then. I don't now if she thought that would be her last fuck, she was just wild.

Saturday night I didnt feel like going on out, but after a phone call from a friend, I went to my bar in blok m to meet him. This was place was packed like always, a live band playing and girls, girls, girls. Have been told that they closed at 3: 30 the other day. A lot of police around that place, but they let scene go on.

Well after two drinks, I could fall asleep standing. I left a bumpy jumpy place. It is Ramadhan, but I cannot feel a change at all. Except that my phone rings more. MP and karaoke girls who want to meet me, cause they are " temporarely out of job".

    Ramadan is not all negative

During Ramadan most MP girls are out of a job. So if you fancy one of them, she may be willing to be yours only until the end of Ramadan at a much lower rate than at other times when you would have to compensate her for her regular income. This is a good opportunity to explore other places than JKT: pick up your favourite MP girls and go on a tour with her.

    I avoid the whole

    Hi Logos,
I live in Malaysia, so KL is my regular hub. Either I travel Malaysian Airlines or Air Asia, don't know much about the Indonesian cheap carriers like Merpati or Lion. Except that one crashed in Medan recently.

For me I just simply made up the decision to avoid complete Indonesia during Ramadhan +- 1week. It's fun even in Ramadhan, but outside Ramadhan it's much more fun.
It's just a 2hrs flight, so remaining 11months per year is fine with me. But if you want to go at this time, I'd prefer Jakarta over SB or Bali.

Btw, have you been on Lucky's board a few years ago?
    Penhball?

    Cheers!

Tks for the advice Ekspat. Thanks to Humble Turd as well for his very exhaustive report that gave me other ideas.

Fortunately I hadn't booked anything solid yet, I will probably follow your suggestion and start with some place else. I am landing in Kuala Lumpur so options are pretty good from there, curtesy of air asia. Would you reckon Surabaya would be a better choice or would the same apply, or maybe Bali (Sanur), as tourists have probably deserted the area ? I'm not really worried about bombs, in fact it's probably the best time before regular tourists get back in herds.

I'm afraid out of all 52 weeks a year, this is the worst one. Okay, in Jakarta is Hankypanky any time even in the month of Ramadhan. But it's not only Ramadhan, you run into the end of the holy month with 2 public holidays called Hari Raya Puasa. These 2 days are the most important Muslim holidays and many girls take nothing serious but this.

Better you go first to Cambodia and after 2 weeks there to Jakarta. Secondly, after having a great time in Jakarta you might be disappointed by Cambodia.

I choosed Angeles as Ramadhan getaway.

    Cheers!

New to Indonesia, would appreciate some advice

    Gents,

I've read interesting stuff about Indonesia here and on KM11.com and SE-asiaboard's new avatar, where I was one of the original posters.

As you can't walk past a good restaurant with excellent reviews every day without finally giving it a try, I am finally arranging a trip to Indonesia (more specifically : Jakarta) and will be landing in about 10 days to find out about the "best kept secret in SE-Asia", according to various sources, before retreating to more familiar digs in Cambodia.

I've been travelling to SEA (mostly Cambodia in the latest years) fairly frequently but this will be my very first trip to Indonesia. I have been reading the Indo forums, but would appreciate any advice about the best hotels for one week or so. Not necessarily luxurious but good value, quiet and of course good location.

Is 50-60$/night a realistic budget , or am I off target ? (I would usually pay around 1200 bath on sukhumvit in bangkok for a pretty large room in a business hotel with pool, nana area) In your experience are there good deals to be had if you walk in, or is more advisable to book in advance ? (From oct 27 or so)

Any other tip regarding venues/freelancer hangouts/things to watch out also appreciated, if only to corroborate existing info. If you're in the area and feel like some excellent Belgian ale in return for local expertise (I'll be travelling from Europe), I'd be glad to be of service. I'll also be glad to provide any update on Cambodia, should anyone be interested.

    Website for travel

I was just reading my latest copy of Conde Nast Traveller, and they had a section on Asian low cost carriers. I just checked these websites out to make sure they're valid, I'll post them here and you can let us know what you can find.

    AWAIR - www.awairlines.com
    Lion Air - http://lionair.co.id

    Others that might work:
    AirAsia - www.airasia.com

AWAIR and AirAsia are affiliated, but not sure if you can find the CGK-DPS flight on the AirAsia site.

Make sure you *don't* put the www in front of the Lion Air address. It won't work with it. I've flown on AWAIR (AirWagonAir!), and it was okay.

    travel agent

Gents, I am currently put of the country, but am planning on flying back in, via CGK. The airport is not very user friendly, as domestic fligths depart for many different terminals. I need to get on a flight to DPS, do any of you know a travel agant in Jakarta with email, who can give me the list of daily flights between both places, or better still, if any of you have that info, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
