There is nothing around Mercure, Chloe is legit altho there might be two and I couldn't find. 90% of spa's in Sanur are legit, try jl sudamala off Danau poso. Many in denpasar try Bali exotique (see flyingdandy site).

Much more in kuta, you will not need to look hard.

There are literally hundreds of massage shops in all the tourist areas and due to the volcano / earthquake induced drop in tourist numbers, many of the girls will provide extras during a hotel visit.

It's as simple as talking a walk around your hotel and quietly testing the water with the sprukers waiting outside the parlours.

I need say I agree totally with your approach.

Given I can get FS ranging from say $500 to the occasional Mill for a real looker, I feel I have done well compared to other parts of my country, so always respect them even if an average service and outcome.

I have never not paid or argued over an agreed rate, even if I have felt the experience was average, I simply vote with my feet and they will never benefit in seeing me again.

Spas have been a good option and I think a decent value ( 1 m + tip) given the environs, service level almost guaranteed, and no need to raise eyebrows at your hotel. Side note: My regular girl at one of the spas was telling me about how badly behaved some of our fellow mongers are, including not taking care of BO, bad breath, forcing DFK, well-endowed guys plowing a girl to the point of pain and blood sometimes, and even trying to sneak BBFS or trying to get 2 pops when they paid for 1. Anyway, I seem to recall previously some discussion of places not usually talked about, maybe a KTV or hidden hotel that has lineups / fishbowls? I can't seem to find those posts, any experienced Bali folks know what I'm talking about?

As for 'X houses'. I have given up in trying to get people understand that a building with an X included in the number is not necessarily in the sex business: the X stands for 'Extension' in Bali's unregulated house numbering system and nothing else. So of course all houses with an X number are not on the map! That would cause embarrassment for a lot of people if they were.

It is a pity that no one of resident punters or frequently visiting punters are willing to take over the map. For more or less same reasons as Barri I can't do it.

And who said that an X on a street address necessarily indicated an X house? It sure wasn't me. But, if its such a pity that nobody is willing to take over the map, why can't you do it? You seem to have a superior knowledge of the terrain, so you seem to be the obvious candidate.

I believe that for quite a few years the map listed all fish bowls in the Sanur area. At at least two occasions I took up a taxi driver's offer to show me 'girls in aquarium' hoping to find some new places, but after hitting all places on the map the taxi driver gave up, saying -You know them all!

As for 'X houses'.
