I've got to split a few days between Hong Kong and Bali.

It looks like the best place for me in Bali in Sanur, and I appreciate the comments! For those of you who have been both to Hong Kong and Bali, should I book any time at all to have fun in HKG or just maximize my time in Bali and forget HKG?

If you want some pussy in Sanur, then stay right in the action. Both Mercure and Taksu Sanur Hotel are very close to Sanur action. Walking distances. Mercure has music in the bar / lobby in the evening and Taksu does not. Look up Agoda for prices. You could spend half and half time between Sanur and Kuta. If you read back quite a few posts, you will find the X houses and fish bowels map. A few places missing, but most still there.

I've had a sudden change of plans with my trip to Bali in less than 2 days and no longer am staying with a (now ex-) friend who lives there and knows the scene. So now I'm scrambling a bit in a condensed period of time. Trying to decide between staying in Kuta and Sanur. At the top of my priority list is ease of spending time with girls (ease = walking from hotel, or maybe a short taxi ride). In Kuta, Angels and Mawar (300-350 k range) seem to be to go-to places and accessible. But Kuta not as nice. There seems to be a lot of x-houses and fishbowls in Sanur, at lower prices (200 k range). I am assuming an x-house is effectively a brothel. But her's my question. Are they mostly located in the same area? I ask because they seem to be referred to as 27 x, 41 x, etc. If so, can someone please provide a more specific area, as I can't seem to find that info (if I missed that RTFF, my apologies). And Is my general understanding accurate? Thanks in advance.

That's about right. X houses are brothels. Some have fishbowls, others bring in a girl (usually from a fishbowl) to your specifications. 200 k for cheap and nasty (but often good fun) and never pay more than 500. Most of the x houses are on or near Jalan Danau Poso. There are cheap hotels right on the street, and the Mercure is very close by. Before I lived here I used to stay at the Mercure. Girl friendly, nice hotel, and a range of options within 5-10 minutes walk.

Totally agree with you about Kuta. I still like parts of Seminyak and Canggu but Sanur is the best place for relaxation and girls particularly if your age is past the 40's.
