Actually I think he has a point, especially if he's choosing through a dating app rather than a club or bar.

You can spot the Bali regulars on apps like Tinder and they all have the same type of profile. They post the pictures of themselves with their delightfully nut-brown posteriors in string bikinis as they stand in the waves or drinking their cocktails in Potato Head. You know if you check their FB / IG accounts they will be pictured with loads of older bule guys partying the night away.

Great girls for a night's entertainment but cynical as hell, already looking over your shoulder at the next bule coming along, desperately doing the calculations on her biological clock about how long she can pull this off before she needs to marry one of them (age 27.4 years in my calculations).

Whereas you could score some genuinely sweet girls in Jakarta, stuck in some boring dead-end job and desperate for a bit of fun in her soul-destroying life and a weekend in Bali in which she gets to visit Tanah Lot or have a nice meal or two with a nice guy is a real treat. Of course having done that you run the risk of turning her head and a week after she's back in Jakarta she has quit her job, packed her bags and gone to join the beach bunnies herself. In which case you just find another fresh one for your next trip.

Like I say, that's social media, if it's a girl from the clubs she's likely already spoiled.

Check the Tinder profile pages, if she's already pictured hanging out in clubs and beaches skip her, if she pictures herself looking goofy in her office or at home with her family, she's one for consideration.

Alright, so I followed some advice on this forum and edited my bio on the dating apps that I use in Jakarta, with a statement indicating that I'm going to Bali and looking for a lady to invite her to come with me, all expenses paid (with a nice gift at the end if she turns out good enough).

Needless to say I got more than 30+ matches per day. It was so overwhelming I had to run away and log out of the app LOL.

Damn! All I wanted was one good lady and I got dozens. I could easily take a team of ladies with me but I guess I need to make up my mind and choose only one. Its a very tough and time consuming choice.

While I know that Bali does have many ladies there, I think those in Jakarta are prettier, more educated and more enjoyable to be with. Bali ladies are used to dealing with mass tourism and only see the tourists as potential rich customers. I'm looking for a companion / someone to have a good conversation with, not just someone to shag.

I guess I'm going to have to test which of them can carry a good conversation and has a fairly good looking body. (Without being too desperate. As this is a sign of being loose and abusive). Then ill make a choice.

If that's how it is on a single dating app. I think its true that hinting that I'm going to Bali in a nightclub would be life threatening LOL.

Day 1 Bali.

Made a contact from Indonesian cupid in last minute. She is from Bali and working in a hotel reception. She is very interested to meet me. I got connected while waiting for the flight in lounge. She said she can't be with me anything later than 1:00 am. My flight lands at 9:15. Flight got delayed and landed around 9:50. Came out and got a taxi while going hotel sent her that on the way to hotel. She said she will be starting soon. It seems she has contacted me in WhatsApp few times. I dint notice since I was very tired. By the time I am about to send a message stating that, I am at hotel and waiting for you, saw her message stating we meet tomorrow. But I had my plans to meet another contact in Medan.

I am not a big fan of Nightclubs. But don't feel like sleeping. Decided to drop by to have a drink and watch out for anything interesting. Somehow had the feeling of Orchard Tower in Singapore. Most of the girls are with their boyfriends and it's hard to get one who is free. Had plenty of corona, and its already 3 AM. So, while leaving saw some girls made eye contacts, but too chubby for my taste. So, ignored, headed back to hotel sky garden which is walk-able and crashed.

About 1/2 or more of fishbowl girls refuse to go with Bule, which is annoying since they're the prettiest ones.

They are normally scared you have a big dick. If you have a small dick, just take one of the other girls the first time, then come back next time for the prettier ones who wouldn't go with you the first time. Word would have spread that you aren't well endowed and those girls will be fine to go with you. If you have a big dick, you are out of luck.

While on my initial bike jaunt, I looked for the X-houses on the monger map, but found many others not on the map just walking around in the following days. It would take me weeks and weeks to visit them all, at one pop a day.

To add to this, most of the Sanur X houses do not have their own girls, just a pimp who will bring you a few girls from a nearby fishbowl while you wait. Much better to go to a fishbowl yourself, as you'll have a much wider choice, better price (at least a better chance to negotiate one), and less pressure if you decided to walk away (since you haven't wasted their time). Only fish bowls should count, and there aren't too many of those, from what I've seen, less than ten. As of early 2018, going rate is 250 (they'll usually ask more, but saying "dua-lima-pulu" works for me, even though I speak no Indonesian). About 1/2 or more of fishbowl girls refuse to go with Bule, which is annoying since they're the prettiest ones.

Curiously, service in Sanur brothels is occasionally decent (about half good, half horrible). Much better than, say, Classic or Travel in Jakarta.

I think things are a bit worse than most realize. Here's a photo of a tourist's leg that was slashed by a local. She was on her motor bike and he wanted her phone / bag. This was in Canggu just recently. Join the facebook group for canggu. The crime they report there is outrageously high.

I travel to Bali 5- 6 times a year as I sell businesses there. The likes of resorts, sports bar- restaurants.

I happen to have a couple in Canggu, whilst it is an area that has never appealed to me it certainly is growing in popularity.

Regrettably crime is all to often reported in Canggu, from bag snatching, stabbings, bashings usually for obvious reasons on tourists.

This is substantiated by the constant reports on a local crime reporting website.

Give me Legian- Seminyak any day but despite that Canggu still continues to attract tourists and investment.

No kidding there are girls in Bali. The best kind of girls who will exchange money for love, in my experience. Can't wait to get back. I don't understand the need to bring one to Bali.

Well, it definitely depends on your preference. I have friends who simply prefer being alone than having a girl in tow. I like to have a girl to hang out with. There is a big difference between screwing a girl in a tiny little dirty room for 300 k short time, and having a girl be your companion for your entire trip and shagging you in your room at your leisure at any time. It just depends what you want. A companion to hang out with, or a girl in a brothel every once in a while. If you had a girl staying with you, you wouldn't need to take PADI lessons to find something to do during the day, because you could be shagging her during the day. Not that I am against diving, I like diving. Then again, I prefer just snorkling or free diving these days even though I own my own diving gear. Less trouble. Gili is better for that though.

You can meet girls in Bali who will shack up with you for your trip. A "tour guide", if you will. They will want some cash. If I were coming from outside Indonesia for a one or two week visit, I would just go straight to Bali and hit Tinder to find a companion. For those who spend a lot of time in Jakarta, I like bringing a Jakarta girl to Bali. Preferably a girl who has never been to Bali before.

I think I operate differently to yourself in that I will have solid online contacts in place before I go and only really go for freelancers if my plans fall thru and I haven't set foot in an Indonesian brothel at all. Different strokes for different folk. I haven't found the pork thing an issue and on more then one occasion I have seen a good Muslim good after a solid night of passion try bacon as well. At the On On pub are the girls available like they are in Thailand?

Oh I'm definitely with the idea of contacts with freelancers. I'll work on that next time, which I think will be within the next year. My next FR is about a girl my freelance tourist guide brought to my room. Ah. Room service! But, the amazing thing about Sanur is the quality of the girls I found in the simple cheap X-houses. Not necessarily the prettiest bunch but great service is not too hard to find and obviously not too expensive.

As for On and On, there were only two friendly Javanese girls working there though I read the place was once known to be a pickup location. The neighboring pub "The Place to Be" seemed to have more girls playing pool with the Western guys. One of the waitresses at 104 called it "The Good Place to Be Bad". I think that was its unofficial moniker! LOL. I'll check it out next time.

Next evening, I strolled up the unnamed gang next to the Circle K that hosts 18,66, and 67. It was totally unlit and possibly very intimidating to most people. I ran into a guy out front of 66 who pointed me to the fishbowl. 66 has an odd arrangement where you scope out the girls from outside through a wide window. While the fixbowl was small there were many girls and they were packed in on all three sides. Time was around 9 PM. There were about four Indo guys milling around at the window and I think they were the pimps. All of the girls looked up as I approached and a few studied me carefully while the rest went back to staring at their phones. One was a tiny girl in the #2 slot and another was curvier, older girl. The younger one looked at me in a giddy fashion like she was either interested or afraid of being picked. One of the bystanders commented, "Number two there gives good service". I don't know what his relationship was to the girl, but I asked for her. He gave a price of 400 and we haggled back and forth a bit. I got the same spiel about service and the room rental and we settled on 300 k. But once we settled on 300 k when he called to a fat Mamasan sitting off to the side, asking if 300 was okay. She approved and I was directed to pay her, which I did without any delay while the dude fetched my pick. She was a tiny girl, even smaller than Intan but didn't seem too intimidated by me. She spoke no English. We had to wait for an available room, on a bench between two cottages, while an attendant gathered towels and linen off the shelf opposite us. In the darkness of the night, the place reminded me of some 50's era, touristy motel court based on an exotic Asian theme. The whole complex was clearly busy and the rooms were apparently owned by a party that serviced the three adjacent brothels. Girls and their customers were coming from different directions. I was the only Occidental customer there but I felt comfortable, especially as I was getting a lot of attention from the other girls who were waiting. A rather stunning girl with some North Asian guy sat next to us on the crowded bench. She exchanged a few sentences with him in English, and I tried to chat with him. But he was standoff-ish in a way that reminded me of those aloof Koreans. We finally got a room after about a fifteen minute wait, but I was cool with it.

They tiny lady, whose name I promptly forgot (it was one I never heard before) seemed eager to please and happy at being chosen. I sense she was still fresh. Once we were in the room, we stripped and she gave me a quick, cold water washdown in the bathroom (no tub, just a squat toilet, a bucket and a hose). It was bracing being sloshed with the cold water, but reviving too, and I was happy for it once I got toweled off, because it lit up my skin. I had just had a good romp with the girl above, but I thought "Why not? I made a photo of the entrance of my hotel so she could recognize it. Later in the early hours of the morning, I was woken by the noise on the bypass, when I looked at my phone and saw it was a quarter til three. I texted Intan if our date was still on. She texted me back, that she didn't think so, because she was very tired. Well, so was I and went back to sleep. Never got a chance to hook up with Intan again. But, there seem to be plenty more of those type of girls where she came from.
