It all depends on how much you spend for accommodations. Your budget is pretty good. But why let a budget get in the way when you are in the middle of a good time? Just borrow it from the budget for the next trip.

I have not gone local though had some suggest it. IMHO, not a good idea. Between family and meeting people they know, the danger is pretty high for them and maybe for me. I don't want to cause trouble for them and stay low key. I always give them something. Several had come bearing gifts. I don't feel comfortable in accepting and I am not sure how much of it is a mind game. They end up posting selfies on facebook from the hotel room or pool. I guess if I save on accommodations, I can spend more with or on them.

I usually aim for about 500,000 to 800,000 per night for hotels. I have stayed in the 200,000 to 300,000 per night hotels in my younger days but I like nice clean rooms now with a modern bathroom. In my budgets I usually take excess as I do not want to be regretting missing out on anything. Very rarely are any of the girls you meet online are "local" Balinese. Most are from Java but I try to mix it up and meet girls from other islands. If the girl wants a souvenir from Australia I will see what I can get from the local $2 shop but I learnt many years ago not to spend too much on gifts or buy too many as sometimes the girls flake out and you do not meet and you have gifts you can not take home with you. Other then pussy I have yet to receive a gift from any of the girls. I do not give my Facebook details to any of them so I do not care if they take pics of the hotel and I think I have had only one girl take a pic of me.

I am excited about my upcoming trip as I haven't been to Bali for 3 years.

I think we forget the value of the currency and get caught up in the wheeling and dealing. I don't think 10,000 will buy you anything, particularly in Kuta, these days. I am fortunate enough to have the patience and time in my work place to research and find girls who are happy to meet me for the experience and a days fun expecting only food and drink as payment so I really do not have any idea of how much a brothel in Kuta cost.

No I am talking total investment in a holiday so 70,000,000 is correct. I would never pay 7,000,000 for sex anywhere in the world. For 8 days in Pattaya I will budget $7000 AUD (70,000,000 IDR) inclusive of flights and accommodation. In Bali I budget far less. For my upcoming trip of 4 nights I am budgeting $2000 AUD (20,000,000 IDR). The big difference being the price I pay for sex in Bali is far less then in Pattaya.

Are you paying 7,000,000 IDR for one fuck? Hope she was worth it. Only time I went anywhere close to that was a model in Dubai, and since that was 15 years ago, well I'll put that at about 700 $ in today's money. Certainly was a good night, but then I had been stuck in butt fuck nowhere for 4 months so was following the dumb stick more than the brain. Got absolutely flamed on the old Bangkok Tonight Forum for paying that much but I have broad shoulders and on a dollar per fuck I was probably well ahead considering we didn't sleep all night.

Nobody really worth that much in Bali, not even the Russians that are bouncing around. But hey, if you pay that much, so be it. The girl lucks out once, has a smile on her face. Asks the same the next few nights from other punters, finds she can't get it and is back to her normal price within a couple of days as she is finding life is pretty boring and her night-time digs suck.

My way of thinking is.

1/ Its way cheaper to fuck in Asian then most Western countries.

2/ I won't begrudge a girl I like over a couple of bucks.

3/ Every market is different so I know I expect to pay an Indonesian girl more because no barfines for example.

You are helping no one here. You suggest that you are happy paying more and proceed to insult those of us who know and pay the local price as being "tight arse" and "cheap charlies". I suppose you have more $ than common sense.

1. No shit! But It won't be for long when bules show they happily pay more than locals pay.

2, 28,000 is a couple of bucks. You intentionally, repeatedly, mis-state what I what I said, namely, you are overpaying at 67 x by 100,000, 40% more than the 250,000 the locals and informed pay.

3. Bizarre way of thinking, I suppose you expect to pay more on beach road in Pattaya for the same reason.

4. Okay, fine, dumb ass tourists overpaying because they are in a foreign country. You are all-in. For whatever reason, you repeatedly say 10,000 (0. 70) instead of 100,000. Your way of thinking is a big part of the reason for what is happening in Philippines and Thailand as many asian men pay high rates because woman are expensive in their home countries. Bangkok, Patts, Sabang, you name it, everywhere that is overrun with them rates have skyrocketed.

I will rent an apartment with airbnb I may or may not have a door man. Any help will be appreciated.

This is exactly what I am doing! I've settled on a hotel and will be talking with taxi drivers to get help with 'delivery'. I have never stayed at Sanur before, but suspect that if a doorman is present you just need to give him a smile and a tip on arrival and he'll be a good friend from thereon in. He might even be able to help arrange girls.

Some members with Sanur experience can hopefully confirm if I'm making sense and add more info.

I agree prices are prices and why haggle if you are buying a Bintang singlet. I wouldn't haggle at my local brothels so I don't think I should in any Asian country. If you don't like the price move on. If you don't like the price but like the girl take her, don't have any regrets later and maybe you can organise sometime with her out of hours at a cheaper rate.

That's so funny, because one hawker on Legian actually sold me a Bintang singlet! And I actually wore it on Copacabana last month strutting around like a bogan. Bad taste knows no geographical limits, I guess.

But, to answer your question: I would haggle in Bali (or anywhere) if I was being charged more than a local. Its just the principle of it. You wouldn't haggle at your local brothel, but your local brothel isn't charging you or anyone else a premium because of their ethnicity, are they?

All I expect is to pay a fair rate. And in an environment like Bali, where cheating tourists is the name of the game, I learned simply not to say yes to any price that was given verbally. That became obvious the first time I took a stroll down Legian. You seem to think I am not being reasonable for insisting 300 k instead of the 400 k I was quoted. I posted a report on another forum, an Australian one, and someone responded that I only should have paid was 250 k, not 300 k (as if $3 and some change in USD was a significant amount). Obviously I am not going to make anyone happy here, except myself and the lady I tip for her good service.

I spent ten days in Bangkok / Pats after Bali. Should I just pay the guy at the x house the equivalent of a Bangkok / Pats barfine? Going rate a mid-level ggb, 1,000 tb (500 tb). So make it 450,000 to the handler at the x house? Then pay the girl the going rate in Bangkok / Pats? 2000 tb for st? Make that 900,000 idr? Of course not. We know the cost of services are very different in an x house vs Sabang vs Los Vegas vs Pattaya vs Singapore. Know the price and pay the going rates. You do not base your payments on your home country standards.
