With the impending volcanic eruption of mount aging, is it safe to plan a holiday in the month of November? I intend to visit Bali and adjoining islands. Tips which I used and helped me to save money while traveling to Bali.

2. Exchange at the authorized counters ONLY. (Like BMC) - There are shops and some local establishment they offer very attractive rates but they charge a bomb as commission. They trick you by diverting with some thing and hand over less currency / IDR. (This was about to happen to me but I got saved with my alertness).

3. Buying a Local SIM card: Buy it from the Convenient stores like Coco Market / M-Mart / Alpha Mart / Circle K outlets which are almost open 24 hrs they give you good rate with good Data Pack. Do not buy it at Hardy's mall in Sanur. He charges 300 k for the SIM and 2 GB data. Telkomsel is the best service provider. 4 GB is good for 15 days of full usage (Data surfing, Google Maps, Whatsapp and other Social Media apps) (Frankly speaking you might NOT need Calling minutes including in the SIM as most of the Tourist Bali Drivers are on Whatsapp and you can Call / Message through that.) No identification needed to buy the SIM Card. Don't leave the place, before you have received the confirmation SMS of activation. (Local's can correct me on this or add some more details to it).

FWIW, someone else mentioned the short changing. I found some restaurants will change and the cashiers don't play hide and seek and palm money. Most are better than hotel rates and sometimes better than ATM rates.

Also, someone else mentioned getting SIMs Telekomsil (fairly inexpensively and then loading with data. I usually get the one month plan and the base SIM has cost me from 15 K to 300 K depending on purchasing location. Some of the hotel Internet really suck so I expense it as a backup nowadays. Just my 2 cents.

My second time in the Island of the Gods, 21 days in August, 10 of which in Seminyak.

All opinions and comments reflect and are the result of:
1- me being a tourist in town for a few days only, no Bahasa spoken

After careful research and planning, before departure I made up my mind that I would rely on spa/massage joints and maybe freelancers for paid sex, and hopefully Tinder for regular girls.
I ended up using only one spa and Tinder, both to my satisfaction, and no freelancers at all.

Stepped inside once around 00.30 am, didn't see any girl at all, stepped right out.

SKYGARDEN
I went there only once, towards the end of my holiday, with the idea to pursue something only if I saw a stunner and if I could strike a good price.
The biggest group of available ladies was easily identifiable: on the lowest floor, at the entrance of the club, in front of the bar.
I didn't see anyone better looking than the girls I had already slept / has sex with, so I gave them all a pass.

I had collected all the available info on a number of them, such as Onasis, Pelangi, Zona, Sriya and so on, but my first stop was Riverview Spa, and felt I didn't need to look any further.

RIVERVIEW SPA
There are some mixed reviews here on ISG about this place, but my overall experience, repeated three times, was very positive.
Quiet location, a nice entrance with a proper reception desk, professional looking cashier and papasan: the first impression was good.
Cost for 90 minutes with 1 girl: 1.054.000 Rupiah (1 beer included), so actually less than some rates mentioned here, which seemed to have ballooned out my price range.
Lineups of 10 to 15 girls, of which in my opinion only 2 or 3 each time were worth my money, but that's my opinion, and anyway 1 is enough (each time I only chose 1 girl, skipping the double option).
Rooms very nice, just like you see them on their website.

Once in the room, your time is divided in 3 stages of roughly equal length: massage, sex, and jacuzzi.
The massage was always quite good, didn't feel at all like a perfunctory part of the deal, and the final bit of it is a kind of nuru style with the girl, oiled, sliding up and down your body.
The jacuzzi part, I found it to be more enjoyable and relaxing than I thought, with the girls still very playful and chatty and dedicated to your full satisfaction: an extra massage here, a caress there, some more kissing, and so on.

As for the girls and sex.
The first one, which I actually repeated with on my second visit, was Gee, fresh from Bandung. If you dont mind a burn scar on the left side of her torso, she's young, slim and lovely. Covered BJ, which is not good, but she made up for it with some serious dedication to French kissing.
Open to all positions, and both times took a hard pounding in stride.

In case you're not familiar with Tinder, you can google all the info you need about it, and give it a go yourself: I certainly won't try to explain it to you.
I will only say that I normally use it at home in Italy where I live, and that it has provided me with a reliable and very diverse source of extra dates.
I have never used it to meet with those escorts who occasionally post on it, nor did I do so during my holiday.

I started to swipe 15 days before getting to Seminyak, and in the course of six weeks I checked on about 900 girls, and found that:
A- 95% of Tinder girls live either in Denpasar or in the Jimbaran-Canggu stretch of coast.
B- in Bali they can be roughly divided into 7 main categories:

- regular Indonesian girls on the island for short stints (for business or a quick holiday with friends or a wedding and so on), therefore not necessarily looking to match with someone in Bali: even if do you match with them, the time factor and their previous engagements make it very difficoult to successfully arrange a date.

- regular foreign tourists: hit or miss, success depending on too many variables.

- Muslim ladies looking for marriage: if youre interested.

- ladyboys: if that's your thing.

- prostitutes very open about being on Tinder looking for customers, mentioning payment and/or posting their phone number. None of them appeared to be Balinese, and my impression was that on average their English was very limited.
If you go that route, it would appear to be the easiest and most straightforward way to get laid using Tinder.

- girls who present themselves as regular, but who at some point during the message exchange will come clean asking for money or some sort of indirect compensation, like an absurd amount of cash for a much cheaper transportation: on average they seem a little upper class, a little better looking than the previous category, but if I opted to meet with one of them I would also want to clarify in advance what services does she exactly provide

- regular girls and ladies living in Bali, some of them actually Balinese, about half of them with children, using Tinder the regular way: in my experience they are quite open to chat and meet.

So how did I do?
Of the roughly 50 matches I got, in 14 cases the chatting led to a phone number exchange, end I met with 4. I could have probably met with 2 or 3 more, but distance or other engagements on my part made it impossible to pursue every girl.

My 4:
- one (Sumatran living in Bali) was very tall and quite pretty but her English nonexistent, so I ended our date rather quickly.

- one (Balinese) was a little rounder than I like them, but with a very pretty face and a fantastic smile. 26 years old and single, works for an international company, has travelled extensively outside Indonesia, and speaks excellent English.
I offered her dinner, but after that we went to both Motel Mexicola and La Favela and she paid for her own drinks. We didn't go beyond kisses, and couldn't meet again, but as a standalone date it was great.

- one (foreign tourist) I matched with while in Ubud and spent 3 days and nights with her, which was good since, as most of you know, Ubud and the immediate surroundings are free of any paid sex options.

- one (Javanese living in Bali) was in her early 20s, slim and relatively fair skinned, with a serious job, spoke good English. I paid for dinner and drinks on our first date and we had sex that same night. Then I told her I would like to see her again, but couldn't afford to pay for everything, and she was ok with that. I saw her 2 more times, another evening and a full day on the beach, and she paid for her own. Weirdly enough, she didn't French kiss at all, but had no problems with blow jobs, handcuffs, even a bit of soft anal sex. Go figure!


ACCOMODATION
I opted for Seminyak Square Hotel, which:
- is located very close to the beach and the shops and more importantly to many of the trendy bars, restaurants and clubs of the Seminyak area. La Favela, Motel Mexicola, Potato Head, Ku De Ta, La Lucciola, Mamasan, Bistrot, Revolver Espresso... all these establishments can easily be reached on foot, and just as many are a quick mototaxi ride away.
- is girlfriendly
- has in-room private safe and good wi-fi

I relied on the Kimia Farma chain of chemists to get the official goods, even though the prices seemed a bit on the expensive side
CIALIS: about 450k rupiahs for a pack of 2 (?? mg)
VIAGRA: about 900k rupiahs for a pack of 4 (100 mg)


So, is Bali a worthy mongering destination?
To anyone who takes the time to do some basic research ahead (here or anywhere else on the net) it should be obvious that Bali is NOT the place to go if fucking is priority #1, or for those guys who are on holiday with their regular partner and want some easily accessible side distraction.

It does offer p4p options, but sex is not as readily available as in some other holiday destinations around the world, and anyway it's time consuming: for freelancers you have to stay up until late at night, the naughty massage parlors are not at walking distance from the beach, the X houses in Sanur require GPS coordinates, and so on.

Assuming you are a single tourist on holiday in Indonesia, my recommendation would be to spend at least a couple of days in Jakarta before getting to Bali. The capital is one of those places where you can get sex 24/7 without much effort, and you can easily fuck so many times you'll get friction burns on your dick.
Once happily sedated your lustful needs, you can start your island experience calmer and relaxed, without the self-imposed pressure of having to get laid in the first few hours, giving yourself time to get the ladies you really like, in the settings you are comfortable with.

4. Download My Blue Bird Taxi App Which works efficiently. These are Metered Taxis so no issues getting into Negotiation on the road like with the other local taxis which are look a like the Blue bird and goes with the name of Bali Taxis. They ask any amount for a short distance.

5. Carry medicines from your home especially for the Stomach related issues. Drinking Water has to be bought from the above mentioned Convenient stores.

6. Packet, Cigarettes, Beers and many more things can be bought from mentioned stores.

7. While walking on the streets there will be locals will keep you asking for Ladies, Massage, and Drugs. Ignore all of them. Its Risky job and it might end you up in trouble.

8. Walking on the Famous street of Jl. Legian Kaja where there is Sky garden and Paddy's Pub is there, There are FL / WG waiting for the customers once you cross they will start the offer with massage and other FS. If you plan to take try to Negotiate hard or just walk off. (if taking her Make sure you are not carrying many valuables or loads of cash).

9. There are WG / FL sitting in Paddy's Pub outer section facing road. You can choose from them as well. WG are in plenty in Sky Garden ground and first floor (You need that eye to look for it!) Entry for the Sky Garden is 150 K with 2 beers.

Firstly Many thanks to Roger Sideways for all the pointers and Kuta as well as Sanur.

As I have heard and read a lot of Riverview Spa so thought of trying out then the rest.

The place where I was staying it was bit far so took a Taxi (Please read My Traveler's Information on Bali in the Next FR) Reached the place. I asked the driver to drop me on the main road just after the small bridge. I just walked 300 mtrs from the Main road to reach this place. First feeling while walking towards it is bit scary but once you enter the compound then you don't feel like that. As I enter one of the manger made me comfortable on the couch and offered me a welcome drink while he got in to explaining the different formats available. I was sure that I wanted two girls and 90 minutes. Which I made him clear in the beginning only. (Make sure you look and feel confident while Negotiation or other wise they take you for a ride.).

Requirement- 2 Girls 90 minutes of full service with both.

The negotiation started First quote (for Convenience purpose I will quote in USD) 220 USD for 2 Girls 2 hours. My reply 180 USD. Reply to this NO.

Next offer was 180 USD 2 Girls 60 minutes. My reply 150 USD 90 minutes. Reply to this Too less.

Then he tried to divert my Mind by showing the room in which you would like to enjoy. Saw two rooms one with the Pool and the other with Jacuzzi. Opted for the second one. Again negotiations started.

Final offer as per the room - 160 USD 90 minutes for the Jacuzzi and 200 USD 90 minutes My reply - (After the calculations) 140 USD 90 minutes 2 Girls for Jacuzzi room. And the deal was sealed. Now it was the Show time.

He lined up the available girls. Almost 8-9 girls were there with all the shape in and sizes. Choose Fifi and Miss X (Don't know remember the name).

Then made the payment and I was directed to the room with the beauties standing at the door with a welcome smile. Although they won't give you the exact rate but try to bring him close to it so that you don't lose while taking the change in IDR.

As I was Staying in Sanur thought of hitting the hot stone first. So went there around 7:30 pm, I just crossed to check the grounds and one man called me asked that Do you want "Ladies, Ladies" "Massage-Massage" First I ignored and just kept walking in a small lane adjacent to it. Just going ahead I found closed doors of Risca Spa. Turning back he again approached me, thought of asking the Rates he welcomed me and asked me to wait in the semi closed area of the house while he will get the Girls.

He quickly went and came back with 2 girls. One with the braces teeth! Little plum on the size. Second one was in good figure, tall but bit dark. Both were not of my taste. Still going further I asked the Rates he quoted me exuberant rates 500 k for 1 hour. I tried Negotiating, Max he gave the best rates of 400 K and was not ready to come down. I just walked off and even he got pissed off. My asking rate were 250 K and to break the Ice I was ready to come to 300 K. To this his explanation was only for Locals he gives these rates.

Starting of the Bali monger scene was on a rejection!! Never mind.

I was able to negotiate with the 41 X guy for 250 K by telling him I will be back after 2-3 hrs for second shot. He initially took 300 k and for second one took 200 k only. Later on, he took only 250 k for every visit. Only problem was anytime I walk down the road, I get called to utilize his services. Kinda embarrassing if people who knows you are around you and you want to keep your mongering a secret. He also helped me get a scooter for local travel from a neighboring shop.

BTW the rates you paid in 29 is much less compared to what I paid. I paid 300 on one occasion and 250 on next visit. Next time I will negotiate better and also find out the one who provides good service from the papasans.

Day 3.

It was the last day in Sanur before moving to Kuta. I had located the place well before on the google Map. So after the day trip to Ubud I got down at Mac Donald's and walked towards the spa. After waking for 10 minutes, I reached the place and saw the door was locked. So I waited for 45 mins and I did asked about the whereabout of the Julie, but no one knew where is she going to. As it was 7:30 they told me that she is out for dinner and she will return in 15 minutes. After waiting for 45 minutes let's wait for the 15 minutes more. But unfortunately she was book for the last appointment for the day and she promised me for next 10 am appointment. Exchanged the digits. So that before coming to her all the way I will confirm as I was moving to Kuta and had to check out the hotel by 12 pm. So the window was too small for me to take the risk.

Next day before leaving the Hotel I tried calling her she didn't reply so whatsapp her reminding the appointment. She replies to me and then I left the hotel. Reached there she was waiting for me with open arms and smile on her face. We entered the spa and she locked the door. This spa is a small single room divided into front counter and the Spa bed and a toilet at the end. Then without wasting time she asked me that what I want Massage or something more!! And we were into DFK mode and after that it was no looking back.
