At the suggestion of PD, I tried the website he had mentioned. It helps that I live in Bali part time, so my response rate was quite good. Here is a quick run down of the activities over the last 10 days.

I have to agree with 1Ball for the pricing, The pricing in Sanur depending where you go, ranges from 150.000 to 250.000. They will always try and hit you up for more and always I just tell them I paid this last week. 99% of the time it works and if not threaten to leave they will back down real quick. I very rarely tip more than 50.000 they will always give me a sob story but hey I know many people that dont tip.

Also photography... I have never paid extra for pics, no matter what i was doing. I always take the pics before hand as well that way the girl wil work harder to keep you happy. Just to let you know too MBargo doesnt really rock with any good girls until about 1.30am these days. Thank god i have my own little plaything at home or I would be exhausted in the mornings with no sleep. DeJeVu is open again now and so good lookers tend to go there around 12.

One Wing low, I don't want to throw a fly in the ointment for you, as you seemed to have fun, but what you paid for your hour in that sanur house, should be have been enough for a couple of visits.
just for reference, you should not pay more than 150K for an hour with the girl, and a 20K or 30K tip would have been more than enough. No wonder she wants you to come back.
If you don't have your own transportation to Sanur, hop into a cab, and have him drop you off at the corner, then walk around until you find another house you like. The same girls will be called, and you can take your pick, after you tell the man out front you were there last month, and paid 150K. Bali is quiet, and they will be glad to take that amount of money. If you want pics, negotiate with the girl before going in the room, and take the pics before you give her the tip.

200k tip for pictures? I've never paid a penny extra in Indonesia for photos, and don't believe I ever will.

Taxi and tour drivers get a cut of your room/girl fee here, so they probably got 50k or so.

As for the pricing of the tours, many normal Indonesian's make $50-$100 a month. They only had one customer, you, so that's better than nothing. Tour guides also get money for bringing you to places. Did you see a Batik factory? Silver? Gemstones? They all get something for bringing your there. Sometimes a pop, a pack of cigs, or even some cash if you buy something.

I find it *very* unlikely that Viagra or Cialis is not available in Bali. One Ball, I'm sure can confirm this. Sounds like you were just getting sob stories all around. Trust me, giving a 200k tip to a sex worker in Sanur *is* ruining it for everyone.

I would also recommend that you actually read back in the forums a bit, as most of the places in Sanur have been mentioned in the last couple of years.

The tour guide said R400K all inclusive for 1 hour. I said R300K. He agreed to do it.

Went to this hotel on a side street in Sanur right after a good dinner with Balinese dance from the tour. the dancers here are clumsy, not as smooth as nthe other shows. How can they make a living sending 2 guys to escort a single tourist, driving around Bali 13 hours, good lunch, dinner and all show tickets included, for US$45? It was a very good deal.

The hotel's yard was leafy and dark with guys sitting on the curbs. A few taxis went in and out. The hotel was a bunch of bungalows with nice clean bed and sheet and large mirror on the wall. The tour guide took the money up front so he took a cut. They called out about 15 girls to the lounge, most were much better looking than those in Mbargo, 5 of them would probably rate 8 or above. No fat chicks here. They said more girls would come later.

Bali has few tourists after the bombing last year. The tour guide says they are hurting.

Someone was asking about a place to rent for a couple of weeks. I have a nice house, not spectacular, but comfortable. Open living, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, nice garden, in Seminyak. it sits in a quiet secure compound, in between Santa Fe, and Con Tiki. there is no pool, but it is 500 m from the beach.
Daily maid service, and I will happily rent it out to "normal" people for a modest sum, when I am not here.

I agree with the Mighty Spearsman, the going price in Bali for a Kuta bargirl is anywhere between 300,000 and 1000000 (but she would want to be exceptional and tends to come from Jakarta after christmas bonus) The average is 500,000 in Mbargo and varies throughout other clubs...

As to renting an apartment for 2 weeks or more, it has some advantages but I think price wise can be too expensive. Personally I prefer a place that has security so that if anything might go wrong, then you at least have something to fall back on... You might look at www.elitehavens.com for an Idea on pricing. Another alternative is where I stay there are like seperate bungalows with huge 4 poster beds and outdoor bathroom. they go for about 350,000rp (35 US roughly) and for an extended time you could get a better deal...
