I had a very similar experience as another poster described in this forum. If you want happy ending massage, I found 2 options.

Jl. Raya Ubud street, right next to Madura Sate restaurant. Your will see 6-8 young girls sitting outside a massage place, no uniform. All young and cute. Gents I am heading to Bali solo in December. I haven't been back to Bali in about 5 years but in the past I have stayed in Kuta, Seminyak, & Ubud. Being solo and in my 40's what area would you all recommend to stay at with potential for me to meet solo travelers in late 20's - 40's and also ease of access to the pay for play action. In the past I have been to the X houses in Sanur which I found to be excellent value. I definitely have zero interest in staying in Kuta again since its over run by young kids. I have heard of Canggu but am not sure since I've never been there. Thanks in advance.

Seminyak or Ubud.

Seminyak: Has all what you need as a solo traveler. Relatively well developed, has a party scene, fine dining, beach, services (laundry, medical, massages. Etc), with a good mix of mature and young crowds. I specifically stayed in Petitenget area, Seminyak, right next to the Potato Head beach. Beautiful area, has all what you need. I also stayed in the Horison hotel. Also has a fantastic street next to it and is close to the beach. Compared to Kuta, Seminyak is cleaner, friendlier, calmer and well equipped.

Ubud: If you're looking for a more serene experience and an older crowd, and care less about the beach and party scene. Ubud will give you access to the women in their mid 30's and early 40's, especially in its Yoga scene.

Canguu is overriden by russians (there's a good russian community there) and digital nomads and the like. Not as developed and well equipped as Seminyak tho. I wouldn't spend much time there.
