Hey all,

A quick question regarding the ideal time to spend 1-2 weeks in Bali in terms of 1) suitable beach weather 2) quantity and quality of ladies there (westerners and east asians):

April-May?

June-July?

November-December?

Other periods?

Your recommendations are appreciated as they would help me plan my vacation properly.

I was in Bali in January and the weather really sucked: it was rainy and overcast most of the time. This made swimming too cool, and also there was a lot of plastic pollution on the beaches at this time due to it being washed out of the rivers. I vowed never to return to Bali in the wet season.

I was also in Bali in October and the weather was mostly sunny. However there were lots of board riders on Kuta beach, making the surf crowded all along the entire stretch of beach.

So I discussed the best time to visit Bali with my hotel receptionist and she said that the best time is March to May. The weather is not so wet, and it is before the influx of European tourists visiting during their summer holidays (June to August).

I would say that there are always heaps of chicks around at any time of the year so that would probably not be an issue.

The only things I can help you with here are bring your own condoms and lube, don't buy ED drugs on the street and if you are planning on drinking in your room buy duty free liquor but remember 1 litre (I think) so either buy smaller bottles if you want variety or have some IDR in your possession for a bribe if take more if you are searched at customs.

Thanks for that advice. I heard liquor was expensive there as well as in Malaysia. I will be flying out of KUL so I will check their duty free and hope its as good as TPE.

I wasn't aware that condoms and lubes were problematic in a place known for sex, but I always bring my own because I know what fits me best and I never let the girls wrap me in those cheap, standard brothel rubbers that hookers around the globe use.

Speaking of which, I ordered a 3-pack of the Unique Plus size (larger) from the North American distributor in Toronto. They are designed by a Colombian dude who sounds like a serious monger because he claims to "field test" every batch. They are wrapped flat three abreast in a packet the size of a credit card. The packaging says they can be carried safely in a wallet! See attached photo. Its made from a. 015 mil resin called AT-10 and manufactured in Bogota. Here is a video of how it works:

The extra material around the base is meant to protect your crotch area as well! Brilliant. I haven't tried them yet but they have gotten rave reviews.

Other prophylactic goodies for situations where post-coital bathing isn't possible are the Defense brand of individual body wipes. Defense makes soap and hygiene products designed for "combat sports" (wrestling and martial arts) based on Eucalyptus and Tea Tree oils. They claim their soaps kill bacteria, fungus and viruses. But, they also make a 12-pack of individually wrapped wipes to take with me. I bought a box for $10 USD. One packet is pocketable, just like the Unique "Condom Card". For those extra nasty girls! I will give a field report back on these innovative products when I return.

Now that I have my ticket to DPS, arriving the evening of March 18, I've got some questions. This post triggered one in my head. If Bali is about negotiating, as some have emphasized here, is it fair and reasonable to haggle modestly in an upscale MP like this, with posted prices on the menu? I don't have a problem with haggling, and I've done it fairly well in places where its the order of the day (you wouldn't, for example, try and haggle with a freelancer in Germany.) Since it seems the girls get only a small fixed rate judging by the comments below, I'd rather take the savings and tip them instead.

I downloaded the Bluebird app. But, I understand that Uber and Grab are both money saving options in Bali, though they are frowned upon by some and one has to use discretion about where you use them. This thread on Trip advisor was informative. But, I am not one to believe everything I read on all those internets. Your thoughts, please.

I am also curious about the ease of buying legit ED drugs in Bali. Various threads on other travel forums say you will need a prescription. I have some old prescription bottles for them all, if that helps. Others have said that while a scrip is legally required, a pharmacist will sell them to you without one, with a very high mark-up that goes in his pocket. Other things I've read indicate that they are openly advertised for sale at various places in Kuta, though the authenticity of those drugs is dicey.

Mind you, when I arrived in Thailand, I wasn't about to buy ED drugs off the street, and I was dubious of even eating off the street carts. By the 3rd day I was getting everything off the street: girls, food, electronics accessories, souvenirs and Kamagra. They were all great deals and performed as advertised. So, I am okay with taking a modest risk. That Kamagra Jelly is great. What are your experiences with buying ED drugs in Bali?

Speaking of drugs, I don't want anything to do with illegal drugs in Indonesia (self-explanatory) though I understand that certain pharmaceuticals can be served over the counter without too much hassle like the ED drugs. I'd be interested in codeine, pain killers or "muscle relaxants" if that is legally disbursed at a chemist. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd also like recommendations for legit Balinese massage. I found out in Thailand, once you have had a good, proper massage, you are ready to take on the world. I understand the Balinese have a therapeutic massage that rivals Thai Massage. As we all know, once the sex act is involved the quality of massage often tends to diminish. I don't care if its an old aunty doing the massage or the place is dingy. I just want my body straightened out without going to one of those expensive, touristy spas.

Finally, is there anything I should bring to Bali that will be hard to find or expensive when I get here? Liquor comes to mind and a stop by the duty free seems time well spent. Anything else that is expensive or scarce here, or things from the west that can be used to barter for sex and other goodies?

I know those are a lot of questions to ask you guys. But it will help clear the air for many others, I believe. BTW I will be in Kuta from Sunday, March 18 to March 20, and then on to Sanur until the 23rd. PM if you are around and want to meet for a beer and swap punting stories.

That's how much the girls in the low end brothels in Jakarta make as well. Then most of the time they get a tip on top of that. Most times the tip is between 50 and 100 k so that's how they end up making some money. The high end brothels of course pay the girls more than 100 k, but the norm is 100 k, and they can get as low as 80 k in the cheapest brothels.

That's why they ask for tip and a tip is warranted in a way; I don't like this reality, at least in Jakarta they work 50/50 with establishments after taxes and room. That's why you won't see Balinese women on the streets or freelancing, local men won't allow that! In fact if you pay closer attention, you won't see Balinese women alone or walking at the streets at all, you can see them working in stores or on their bikes driving; and few freelancers are older and unattractive and hail from other islands. So, if you are paying 1 million, you are not paying it to a young attractive Balinese you just met at the bar or a disco, right?

My few cents regarding massage with happy ending in Seminyak.

Unfortunately I didn't read this forum before the trip, so I was not aware of real statement of affairs and prices, but instead I found on web apparently outdated statement, that it should cost 100-150 k, and in any case a one shouldn't pay more than 200 k per session.

But, you got an update on pricing for us, and that's great. Yes, information gets stale and that's why its important for forum members to try and give regular reports. Great job!

My few cents regarding massage with happy ending in Seminyak. *snip* That was all I managed to get within two days. My final thoughts are, that if you want to get normal service in Seminyak, the price should be around 400 k these days. Yes, it's possible to get 200 k price, but according to my experience it was BS. Another thought is, that it is not necessary to know particular spots in advance. Just walk around and ask. All girls understand meaning of "happy ending", even those who speak 5 words in English. .
