I decided to take a trip down to Saritem today. It was about 12pm-ish and the place was up and running already. As soon as I started walking towards the side streets, some of the locals pegged me as a foreigner and offered to help me out. They took me through a labyrinth of alleys which I don't believe I could have navigated by myself. We passed by a few storefronts with large windows through which I could see about five to ten chicks in each place. I skipped the first two stores just because. I mean, who settles on the first thing they see, right?

On the third store, I saw Rini in a red dress and settled on her. I told my guides I liked her and they took me less than a block away to a hotel. The price was 300000 for the girl and 50000 for the room. I gave my guide 20000.

Next day, I called a Blue Bird cab and got dropped off at Alohaa's doorstep around 7pm. Seedy looking place with what looks like a moped mechanic shop attached to it. I don't speak a word of Indonesian but the mamasan spoke enough English for her to convey that it would be 250000 for an hour. She took me in a back room and I got to choose a girl from behind a semi-private window. The whole concept of paying a random broker and then having to shop for a girl then having to shop for a hotel room when I don't speak any of the language is a bit overwhelming to be honest. I'm hoping to use the Alohaa experience as a stepping stone to being comfortable enough to do Saritem. I'll have a week and a half in Bandung to work on it.

I'll give you the standard reply to a 1-post newbie. RTFF! There's actually a decent amount of info to read here, for Bandung specifically as well as Indonesia generally. Also, go to the "Reports of Distinction" section and check out the posts written by esteemed senior member Bulai69 about mall-hunting; although those posts are about Jakarta malls, they apply equally well in Bandung.

I look forward to reading an actual trip report from you in a few weeks!

Did go to Bandung during the first week of May. There are a lot of very pretty girls there, but in the end, I'll admit, I wasn't sure how to proceed, and I did not monger, but ended up shopping for paintings instead. So sorry, I couldn't give a good report.

In Saritem they have managed to deliver the ultimate one-stop-entertainment. It is a radical new concept. I hope the world will take example and follow suit.

Here is what they've done. Right in the heart of Saritem, next to all the brothels, they have cut a hole in the ground. In the hole they have put some water. And then some fish. A couple of plastic chairs. Cold beers.

Girls go for about 200k to 300k in the area (300k tops, only if you pick a pretty one.) So this is where you go after you finish, you stick a rod out over the pond. With your mates. And have a beer.

It's 50k for the fishing. This includes a chair and the fishing rod. Beers are extra. But for about 30 USD total, you're in male heaven.

Guys, I lived in bandung back in the mid-90s. Geez, it was heaven, really!

Much more subdued than JTown of course, but it was nice and earthy. Always fun to pick up girlz around the alun2 and streets around it just after the 9 o'clock shut up of shops. One would cruise by in cab and they would be there seeming to be waiting for taxis, only you'd go around the block and they would still be there, so it was on! 3 times I picked up randy pairs in exactly this way, and they were all sex mad country girls in their early 20s. Still largely the same, but it may have changed in some respects. A-grade talent can still be found around 9pm on the stretch of jalan Otto Iskandardinata, just after jalan Asia Afrika. I went to the Alun Alun several times and had an attempted pick pocketing in the area, but I did not see and obviously available girls. I went during the day and at dusk.

There are many opportunities in Bandung south of the train station Alun2, Saritem, the clubs, jalan Braga etc. I had a fantastic time there last week. But you have to watch your valuables. Bandung is not as safe as Jakarta. Going out in Jakarta is a lot safer.

Staying last week, my pocket was sliced open in Saritem by some cheeky bugger and my girlfriend was pick pocketed in "Klab Sentral", jalan Braga.

We were sitting in taxi back to the hotel and her wallet was gone. Money, hotel key, KTP, the lot. We went back to Sentral, faced the crowd inside and got everything back in one minute. Very lucky. Surprisingly, one of the pretty pool chicks on high heels and a hot stretch dress had done it.

Girls on the Alun2 can be found sitting on the benches. They are B-grade though. And not all of them are available. You have to ask if they want to "jalan-jalan". Prices range from 150 to 300k. And there are some cheap hotels in the area.
