Coming to Batam but cants find a faq on remaining questions.

1) Do I miss the freelancer / semi-pro / disco scene by not being there Sat / Sunday? Or is discos every night? I hope to miss the Singapore w / end rush. Is the advice definitely check the place out on the w / end.

2) Which lower end budget hotel has a flat screen and dvd player?

3) Is ROMANCE hotel any good? Komplek Ruko Dian Center Blok B No. 9-11 (bela; ang DC Mall) , Batam.

Agoda has no pictures, yet price seems attractive. So must be crap? 1st choice ROSE seems all booked up.

4) Is a BATAM visa a single entry deal, ie if I hop back to Singapore, I need another one to go back the next day?

And is their border control really passing fake USD's back in change?. I bring my own $10 notes.

Bro, it is great to see your post. I am local in batam but I seldom playing around here. The girl quality is not really good. At least that's what I think.

I only went to Batam once a year or 2 ago and did my bad expierience on the KTV places. Although back then I thoght I'd never return I am actually planning to go again the long weekend Fri Aug 1th till 20th.

My question is, can you recommend a decent hotel to stay? There are quite some reasonable hotels I saw, even with a pool. I am actually dreaming on hanging out at the pool during daytime, hopefully with a new, young and yummy friend. On the web I saw a place in the web called "Golden View Hotel" which is in east Nagoya to the bay, wich a large pool. WOnder if that would be too far from where the action is?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

This is only my personal opinion, which will be probably not shared by some others.

Harmoni has a good swimming pool and an excellent gym. Both are open to people who are not hotel guests, by a very modest fee. I actually enjoyed that, time ago, with a group of local young guys and girls who I met at Nagoya Hill. Harmoni is home of NoName and is exactly in the Kampung Bule.

Nevertheless, I would not care much of having a pool at the hotel. If you want a nice day at the pool with a new yummy friend, you can invite her to Turi Beach or some other resort in Nongsa. I would not recommend to stay there, because it is very far from action, and it is expensive. But if you have a girl you like very much, spending a day there with her is a very nice option. She will be very grateful to you for that, because those places are out of reach for locals, due to the high cost. You can go there by taxi, or even better with the car of your friend, if she has one (I did this). By taxi, plan for at least 70kIDR / h.

Too bad bank accounts need time to replenish. So I will be in Batam before you. I will file a TR sometime in November. I have no doubts it will be a memorable trip.

On Bahasa: I have a PDF file called "Bahasa Indonesia in Seven Days" by Michael Bordt and Liswati Seram. I forgot where I got it, maybe here. It has some simple phrases and greetings to help a newbie make a polite minimum effort. Good to have even though I know I will have to rely on English and sign language to get by most of the time.

The end of "4th Day" report was actually on the beginning of the 5th day, therefore here I don't have so much to say.

On Day 5, I was so tired for all previous activities, that I did not look for any meeting daytime.
I decide to change strategy for one time and investigate the situation of massage joints.

Ramadhan severely affects the opportunities on this side. As suggested by many valued members, this is not the time to come to Batam, if your target is the massage joints to book ceweks.

A few ones are closed daytime. I checked PI and Horizona.
Others are closed daytime, but the papi is in front, having a photo book with girls available. For example: Berry Indah. 82, and a few others.
Indah2 looked open also daytime. I was happy to see "buka" and lights on, but no way to see girls. Photo book also here.
I would never book a girl after seeing only the photo, so this is not for me.

All joints open at 9pm. At that time, you can enter and check girls. The problem is that at that time many girls have been taken already, by those who just see the photo and by those regulars, I think, who know the girl.

I'm attentively following your posts since I wanted to go this week to Batam, but I was recommended to put it off to after Ramadan.

A local guy told me that the massage joints like Berry Indah are all shut down for the whole holy month. So no girls sitting in row. .

However, tell me please: When I go to Batam and book / pick up a girl, will I be able to communicate in English?
