I read somewhere that, as of 1st of March, Singapore has allowed ferries to resume service to Batam and Bingtang. They will be treated as Vaccinated Travel Sea-Lanes. Is that true? This is awesome if it's true. Anyone on the ground wish to take one for the team? Thanks.

Yes, as of today there is NO free travel between Batam and Singapore. To enhance my pain, I have asked one of my local friends about discos and she said all is open and "everything normal". No foreigners, but Indo live their life there.

The only good point I see is that, the day I will be able to take a ferry from HF and cross the border, I imagine that it will be kind of virgin land, where bule will be again chased as 20 years ago. Maybe.

I am hoping some of these places are absolutely starving for foreigner money and services become exponentially better than before.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but currently if you go to Batam you are restricted to your resort only. You can't go in the town to the usual booking places, spas or discos (if they even still exist). However you can freely travel to the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia if you like for better options.

That's bad news. I'm worried that once I go to Batam I won't be able to get back into Singapore.

I live in the USA. I will be visiting Singapore in the middle of March. My Singapore friend mentioned that Singapore has opened sea VTL to Batam and Bintang which is great.

But can anyone update the status of our hobby on these islands? Thnaks.

The Indonesian government has asked Singapore to soon reopen its borders, particularly those that connect the city state to the tourist areas of Bintan and Batam in Riau Islands, which have been closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his visit to Batam on Thursday, Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan made a phone call with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakhrisnan, requesting the latter to reopen the Singaporean borders that serve as entry points to Bintan and Batam.

The senior minister said Vivian agreed to review Indonesia's request after Singapore's general election, which will be held on July 10.

No news on Fame Spa's reopening.

Venus is apparently back in business. New Spa (now called Venew Spa) offering a soap massage. Their Instagram feed is alive again with the new management and they're promoting themselves like Venus and the spas of Jakarta.

With even Singaporeans locked out of Batam, it seems like it's strictly locals only for now. Apparently MiChat is a great way to pick up freelancers but I'm guessing you need to know Bahasa Indonesia for that game. Hoping things return to normal soon. I miss Batam, even though I didn't like it the first time I went.

I have plans to visit batam once things settle down. Can someone help me how to get laid with girl there? Been to batam in January but couldn't get any girl for pickup and just been to massage.
