I just relocated Singapore recently and now I'm looking for a 2/3 day trip to Batam to get a true GFE. However it will be my first time and I don't want to get robbed / ripped off. I've read lots of the posts, but still don't feel comfortable enough going Rambo yet. It would be great if anyone wants to come along, I am looking at a Jan. 27 or 28 departure.

You don't need to be Rambo to visit Batam! What kind of place did you understand it is? It's not Far West, it's not the Mexican border with narcos coming and going. Take it easy. Just be considerated.

Black Page, I have read many of your reports in the Batam forum. Looks like you know the scene. I agree with you. Must read the rules before jumping into the water.

Adrenalinrush, I will be there only for two nights, so "easy" access is definitely a plus. Nice talent is appreciated. When you say 1. 5 million, is this to sit and "chat". Sort of in karyoke room. Or. For her to come to your room for LT all night "enjoyment"?

For 1. 5 million you can take her to your room for LT. For her to sit with you in the bar, its only 200k (plus any drink if you wish to buy her) , you can check her attitude and grope her and then take a call if she's going to be good service for the night.

I have been searching the Batam forum to see if I can find some good direction of which hotel to pick. Being a first timer in Batam, for my upcoming trip, I have no idea. Normally I stay at a Hilton but none in Batam. I did see some fairly good reports on Novotel, I Hotel and Panorama. I have read that these are all girl friendly.

Experts of the Batam scene, which of these three would be best concerning quality and also proximity to some clubs where freelancer could be found. Your recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

I agree, for a first timer in Batam who is willing to spend, I-hotel is your best bet, it is the plushest hotel in Nagoya area, and there are some very nice girls available at the Zaffron bar on 1st floor. These are not freelancers but employed by the hotel to entertain guests. Cost is 1. 5 million take-out, more on the expensive side, but it saves you from the hassle of going out and looking. The hotel mostly entertains rich Chinese guests (owner is Chinese) and most of the songs in the bar are in Chinese.

I Hotel has been reported as the best, or one of the best. I would say to forget about proximity, as far as you are in Nagoya, because you can go anywhere in few minutes by ojek or taxi. Pick any hotel listed in the "first-class" group (read the list of hotels in Batam, anywhere, including wikitravel).

Last, but really not least, read carefully all posts in this thread of the last two years and you'll learn a lot about do's and don't's. This homework is necessary for everyone.

1. I am going to Batam from Singapore. Which is the best spot to get off in Batam that is closest to the Triniti hotel. Batam Centre or one of the other Indo entry points?

2. Best ferry service from Singapore to Batam. Eg price and safety?

3. Proximity of the Trinti hotel to all the girlie action. Is it fairly close?

24 January 2013 is a Muslim holiday: Mawlid an-Nabi.
All entertainments are planned to be closed on the eve: from 6pm 23 Jan till 6pm 24 Jan.

Last time I went to Batam it was another Muslim holiday (Eid al-Adha) .26 October.
I think I have a radar: when I plan a visit, based on my work schedule, later I discover I have hit some Muslim holiday that makes bars to close. This happened already in all my last 3 visits!
Last time, on the eve (25 Oct) , all bars were closed and I was very depressed for that, BUT around midnight I had the pleasant surprise to find that Pacific and Newton were open instead (read my report) , contrary to all announcements! Probably this will happen also this time.

There are many low end budget hotel around Lucky Plaza at Nagoya hill area, that is near the bar area behind Nagoya hill mall standard room from 25 USD and up, the Fomosa hotel is near Lucky plaza a decent hotel around 42 USD a night with inhouse KTV and few brothel just down the st.

Every hotel in Indonesia other than the Sofiyan group is girl friendly. The very fact that they have a bar & cafe, apart from Massage is indicative enough that its a massage ++ hotel. Very few hotels, normally 5 star hotels like the Mulia, would protect their massage girls. Though, not all 5 stars bother. But, in hotels like Triniti, you mst not have any problems. Just enjoy.

Thanks Black Page and Longchai. I am clear that I can successfully NOT bother with Batam.

I am leaning to Phil, but not yet deciding. May fall back on old habits and choose Jakarta.

However, the yen for something new is pushing gently to AC or Manila.

Just to clarify, Black Page. I should be able to get out of Sing Wed am, and not fllying back to Australia until Sunday am, out of Sing. So, counting beancounterishly, have, say. 4 days. 3 nights of mongering at my disposal, which suits me well, as I am happy to spend generously for a short period, and treat myself to some satisfying wellbeing therapies, so to speak! Haha. Those therapies involving large helpings of delightful brown pouting pussy!
