I'd have to agree with the great sage "ThatAsshole" that Batam is a rather boring place best left to the Chinese Singaporean guys and their massage parlous.

Next time I will investigate TA's suggestion about the neighbouring island of Karimun.

If bule/white guys like u find Batam a boooring place, I suggest u may as well give TBK a miss.

Ok. Only a few days here. So like it or not. My review.

The place is a wasteland. Unless you live here and know where to go I guess. As someone else said below, you'll wander around til you come to Lucy's Ore (*****? ) House.

Anyway, it's a sedate little pub with a really friendly publican/manager who makes a point of talking to the newbiews while keeping the regulars entertained.

The girls at the bar are good looking. But basically eye candy (not take-out).

So I'd recommend his bar. The food looked ok too. But I didn't eat there.

Attached is the PP Banana that you probably read about below. Without being too specific, let me tell you that it's very much designed like Lolitta's in Bangkok or the late Sophies in Phnom Penh. Mongers will know what I mean.

I reckon take-out is available here, but I like to sleep at night alone.

Welcome to Batam! Where are you staying now? I am in Batam center. Here for the long haul. Been here for more than 2 years already.

Hang out places? Plenty. In fact, when I first arrived many moons ago. I wrote down a list of clubs and make sure I went to all of them one after another. To complete my list. Hahaha. But surely the good ones are No Name in Hotal Harmoni, good music and good and decent crowd. Planet disco, very loud music and lots of FL. Pasifik disco. The largest in SEA. So they claimed. Very dark hall and loud music and tonnes of FL. Beware though. As the place is so dark that you can't see their faces clearly. Hahaha.

Haven't seen much of the place myself as I usually just transit through. Lucy's Oar House in Nagoya centre and the other pubs in that area had a good supply of girls, cheap beer and decent food. Personally I am a fan of the scene in Tanjung Pinang, small but cheap and well-stocked. It's a town that warrants further investigation.

Work took me to Singapore and as I have been reading the International sex sites I decided to go to Batam for a visit. I'm glad I did as I have never found such lovely GFE any where else for so cheap. I stayed at Smiling Hills Club which was a lot of fun in and of itself. There are always other mongers relaxing about the resturant and pool area. There are always a zillion stories to hear and since I am a writer, this gets the creative juices flowing. I went into town, about 5 minutes away and went from bar to bar to size up the girls. It kinda reminded me of the PI except the girls here speak very little English. The standard deal is a booking, which means over night. I paid the girls I went with $30. 00 plus a tip. I encountered no hard core types and they gave great BBBJs. If anyone is interested I'll add pictures later when I figure out how. Oh yeah, the one draw back is that it was hard to find girls with milk. For that I goto to Rio or Salvadore.

Yes. Totally agreed. Now, all the pubs and k'oke can only be openned from 8 9PM to 1AM. If not then will face police arrest. So really no nite life here. Not too sure about Lebaran though. But my guess is, it will be the same. Why not stay low. And come after Lebaran. And there will be plenty of cewek 'eager to make a killing'. After having to puasa for one month.
