Can any one please help me regarding issue of visa. I am Indian and will arrive batam from Jakarta next week. Do they issue Visa on arrival for Indian at the ferry point to Singapore?

Reading 12 pages took you the same time I am spending to reply you. Is your time more valuable? What about reading (scrolling) 50 pages? There is also the RoD.

Reading makes you learn what others did, their mistakes, their achievements, WHAT QUESTIONS TO ASK.

When I said, 'like soapy' I meant massage places where the girls are paraded for you to choose. Such as Soapy places in BKK.

"Soapie" means "there is soap". No soapy massage in Batam. Places with girls are paraded are "booking joints" here. So many reports here about booking joints. If you read you'll learn what is different: nothing like what you found in Thailand is in Batam. You did not read, and you ask this question.

You will be severely disappointed then. To say the least, it is outdated. Even moving the time machine to 5 years go, I would say that no more than 50% of what is written there corresponds to the field.
To say one: photos are deceiving.
Second: the list of places is not complete, and some have been closed for years already.
Oh then also: the map is useless.
This is ridiculous: there are no "burkas" in Batam. Batam is not Kabul.
Last but not least: it mixes apples with oranges. "Pacific Discotheque - Its a happening club in the weekends located"?? ROFL. It's closed, but this guy has no idea of what an Indo disco is. Square is not a KTV. Now I hope you don't expect me to spend more of my time to debunk a web page of a guy who pretends to be Lonely Planet.

This will be my last word: RTFF. Scroll pages back until 2015 or 2010. LOT of information here in this thread. Take notes and be prepared to be disappointed anyway. This is not BKK. It is not for everyone. It is not easy. Good luck.

One was Sri Kandy, I tried looking on Google maps but nothing came up. Is it still in business or changed its name.

You mentioned Happy8 is this the same as JV Happy 8 on Jl Komp. Business Centre and Bunga on Jl Komp Dian Centre?

Do these places provide ST in-house like Octopuss.

I have been reading this page for a while as I will be visiting Batam in October.

From what I can gather, there are places where one can book a girl, clubs and bars to try and pickup someone and massage parlours which are mostly legit or rub'and'tugs.

I am not into clubs or bars, so it seems the booking places are where I will be looking.

How do these work?

Are they goldfish bowls like in Bali, Thailand or more like the ones in KL with photos?

Are Octopuss and Fame booking places or more like soapies?

Hi Black Page, I can understand you being skeptical. But honest to god, not Bull Shitting here. Miss Hijab was a part of my bucket list, kind of fetish thing to do. But in all fairness, performance was below par, she had her eyes closed and sort of mumbling prayers to allah as if atoning for the sin she is committing.

That could not be mine then. Mine was much more daring, and yes she never took off her hijab.

Hello everyone,

I was in Batam once again for a night on the 15th. As usual stayed at Harmoni hotel, unfortunately NoName was closed, so ventured into some bars down the street, nothing that caught my fancy, came back to the hotel empty handed. Got into bed and started browsing WeChat. Connected with a sweety who said she can come only the next morning. Surprisingly all her we chat pics were of her son and some sayings in Bahasa, so I was a bit skeptical. Anyway, took the plunge and asked her to join me for breakfast. Next morning I get a call from the reception at 7:30 am that I have a guest. Went down and found a young lady in a headscarf. That got me aroused. Anyway quick breakfast and I suggested going to the room. I was half expecting her to say NO (what with the headscarf and all), but she just smiled and nodded.

Finally, I scored my first Hijab girl. Performance was ok, but the sheer pleasure of having a naked girl with just her headscarf on.

very good report. This will help those who think to go to Batam and find something like Pattaya, then complain with those who wrote enthusiast notes (e.g., me).
You missed the fun, but it comes with experience and after learning the environment. Slowly.

This is a developing country. Get what you need at the ferry terminal, because there's not a whole lot outside.
I went to the mall a block away. It was dead in the middle of the day. Maybe half the stores were open, and only selling really low-end daily stuff.

Come again and explore. Many Singaporean come to Batam exclusively for shopping. The nearest and largest mall is Nagoya Hill, where you can find many things but more expensive than elsewhere. Other large malls are DC Mall and BCS. Yes, it is not like KL or Singapore where you find luxury items. There are very large malls at 15-30 minutes by car, but why we should go there, if not for curiosity or hunt local ladies?

Stayed at Harmoni. There's an ATM to the right of the back door.

There are more ATMs than western tourists. At Nagoya Hill not less than a dozen. Prefer those that dispense 100 k notes.

Went to Nagoya Hill Shopping Centre for lunch. Imagine a stadium, and then row houses surrounding the stadium, and all those houses are massage parlors. I didn't see many people going in and out. Don't know how there can be so much business.

ALL those massage places are legitimate without ANY extra. Singaporeans and tourist love them. Some are good.

If you want massage with extras, go outside.

If you want cheap and in a seedy room, go behind Utama. Any extra available, but you cannot choose the girl. At best, from a photobook, which is useless.

Had trouble finding cabs since the app is not allowed at the official taxi stands / entrances. Happened to come across one who speaks my language, and he couldn't enter Bunga since it seemed to be in a mall.

FORGET CABS. Take ojek.

You want a cab? DO NOT take it from Nagoya Hill. They are regulated at a very high price.

Today, most locals and Singaporeans use apps like Gojek and their equivalent for taxi. For me, it makes little sense all that burden to save 1 SGD. I take a cab from street (usually an ojek, not a cab) and I be sure to check the price BEFORE entering. For going around downtown, 10 k on ojek and 30 k on taxi are ok.

I do not understand what you say about Bunga. It is not in a mall. It is like others on the street.
He did not want to take you there because he must be banned there or he takes higher commission from kupu-kupu or others.
If you go to a massage joint with taxi, you will be charged 200k more, which is the commission for the taxi driver. Go alone.

Went to dinner at Windsor Food Court. Beer girls will swarm you. Should've tried picking them up. The one I got a beer from had trouble standing on her high heels by the time I left, which wasn't that late. I gave her tips but she didn't understand, thought I was trying to get beers for less than the price.

They are NOT available for pick up LOL. I tried with many and many times. No way. At best, one could be your girlfriend, but not after the first meeting.

They WELCOME A TIP for their company at the table. I guess she did not understand what you wanted to say.

I offer them drinks and food. They make their living out of commissions on beers sold.

Went back to hotel. Decided to stop by the bar. It was a weekday, so few customers. But there were lots of pretty women. Sat with a girl named Maria who unlike most people spoke English fluently. I kept offering to buy her lady drinks, but she mostly said no. Having gotten into habit of not tipping, I forgot to tip her at the end of the night. Too bad, she was a really good girl, forced by the economy to do what she does.

To do what?? This is not a place for lady drinks. Most likely she was waiting for you to propose to go to sleep together (and in that case give her 1 M, since she is from the bar).

In Indonesia, girls are always happy to receive some money as tip. They will not feel mistreated.

Went back via Nongasura ferry the next morning. You can see the destitution outside the town centers. It's probably the kind of place Maria lives.

I don't think so. Those places are for girls who work in industry or markets.

Most likely, Maria has a job and lives in a decent home, or at worst in a kost in town (which is not good anyway).

I met more than one girl in a bar like the one of Harmoni who have a car.
