But honestly, I'd like to smack some of these interfering people with their suggestions. I about had a fit recently when I told a VN visitor that I work with, who I kindly invited to my place for Christmas as he is in the USA for a few months (and I used my airline points to fly him for free), not to say anything about Vietnam to her when they met. The FIRST thing out of his mouth when they met was was "have you been to Vietnam?" I really dressed him down later I was so ticked off.
Why do all these people think a married couple have to do EVERYTHING together?!
OK I'm done complaining LOL.
GG.

Yes, someone likes here, someone did not like it at all. Read the reports, so you'll also notice different attitudes and preferences.

Posts: 3Why should I go to Kampang Bule. Nagoya - NED?
Hi guys,
I have been going to Thailand for the last few years but I fear my cover story is wearing thin at home. And a few people who should just mind their own business have been commenting on my travels. So I thought I would go for a "business trip" to Singapore for a change. The mongering reports from there seem to be very expensive.
So that brings me to Batam. Nagoya- Kampang Bule. I have never been there. The reports so far (on here and on the web) are wildly varying. Some say the place is the ducks nuts yet others say it's boring as bat shit. I guess the only way to find for myself is to just go there.
I've been lurking on Badoo / Blendr / Skout (with a spoofed location of Nagoya) at various times over the last few days and it has only taken 20 minutes maximum each time to find a girl willing to come to a hotel and look after me. About 700,000 IRP ($70) seems to be the going rate. That's cheaper than BKK!
NED and Harmoni Hotel looks like the go but I do not know how the systems work there. I have a few questions.
1. Are there any freelancer area's?
2. Do you have to pay the barfines to take a lady from a bar?
3. Are most hotels girl-friendly?
4. I am a 55 year old ugly Australian. Does money talk here?

If the girl is in a hurry to get out of the room after the 1st round of business. I will only lay 600 k, But if the girl is accommodating (2 or 3 rounds) and then wants to go home I will lay 1 m or more with no hesitation.
I look forward to my next trip to Batam. Look forward to crossing paths with you BP in the future.

Posts: 1610 day stay in Batam
I have recently returned fro Batam after a 10 day stay. I arrived Wednesday and lodged at Swiss-Belinn which is always nice.
The days are spent playing golf or trawling the Plaza's or Massage at Club Atlantis.
This trip I was going to try something different and see what the new joints in Kampong Bule where like.
I was sadly disappointed. I spent Wednesday and Thursday in Kampong Bule, the cost of drinks was high and the Girls were a pain (wanted drinks for the Bar tips). The crowd was Aussies (Which I am), Brits, Germans, Russians etc. So lots of money to spend and not much in return.
So Friday, I went back to the usual, Pacific was fun and met a stunning girl aged 21 yo at around 1 am. Had a few drinks and went back to hotel with her.
Saturday, Noname was excellent as usual. And met an old "friend" from previous holiday. We enjoyed each others company for Saturday and Sunday.
Monday, Went to Newton and also had fun. After prowling around and on my 4th Bintang, met a cute free lance girl at around 1.30 am. After a few more Bintangs we headed back to the hotel.
Tuesday, Planet Zone was quite till very early. So I just enjoyed the Music and met a few girls. Went back to Hotel at around 3 am with a nice girl but she did not speak much English.
The rest of the week was much the same.
I am finding that Pacific, Newton and other places are getting to be populated later and later at night / early mornings now. In the past there would be many girls by Midnight. But nowadays I am finding that the girls are getting to the Clubs by 1 am or 2 am.
On average I would be having to spend around 1 Million for the girls so the cost over the last few years has not gone up by much in the FreeLance places. But in The newer places (Square, Radu Platunum, Titanium Club, F1 Club etc) are a rip off.
If anybody has experiences of any new places in Batam worth trying, please post them so I can give them a try.

The difference is the price. 6-7 years ago prices for till-next-morning booking ranged from 300 k to MAX 1 Juta. Now, it's like 700k-2M.
I have seldom reported about joints, because I like different experiences, but I did. Just read patiently.
Don't expect the same experience as in Thailand or Philippines. This is Indo. Each place has its own feeling and mindset of people.

Posts: 1430Oh ok. I have mates living in Batam who tell me most of the booking places disappeared. Interesting. And no I never post in AC thread on AFF. Seldom do I post in the China thread now either. I have read back quite a few pages and you yourself appear most valuable contributor. I was hoping you would answer me.
