I will need to attend a convention in Batam. The convention is held at Nongsa Point Marina Resort. I was wondering whether brothers could recommend me a more reasonably price hotel around that area for me to stay. I will be happy with a 2-star or 3-star standard hotel (main thing is it must be clean) that is not so expensive and girl friendly. Therefore in between sessions and at night, I can do more of my favorite thing, that is, bonking Hope for some help.

I haven't been in Batam in a few years, but on Sunday 2 April this guy will arrive and stay for 2 nights. Arriving in Changi Sunday and going to Jakarta on Tuesday. Since Tanjung Batu is part of Riau island, I hope bros won't mind me posting this report in Batam section. I made this trip on 18 February.

Saying goes that dirty old men from Singapore go to Tanjong Batu(Kundun island) for fun. I am not old, but thought what the heck, will try. Saturday morning, went to harbor center ferry terminal, to Indo-Falcon counter. They sell 2d1N package to Batu, weekend rate is S$64, include roundtrip ferry, 1 night hotel with breakfast, jetty-hotel-jetty transfer. My language skill is zero, so thought better to buy package. Ferry leave at 8:10am, reach batu in 2 hours. Noted all the fellow passengers are in their late fifty’s.

Now, Batu is a really backward place. At ferry terminal, 1man meet us and take us to the Hotel Taman Gembira by a minivan. Hotel took my passport and return ferry ticket to reconfirm. In less than 1 hour, I see all these pretty young girls arriving by motorcycle. These old guys in the ferry either have their regulars or went straight to brothel village to get girls after dropping their luggage.

Anyway, I walk out and ask the hotel security, where to find CEWEK which is girls in Indonesian language. My pronunciation might have been different, after several try he understood what I meant and called a ojek guy (motor cycle taxi) to take me to the brothel. Ojek man asked for (?)Rp2000.It os only 2-3 minutes ride from the hotel. At the entrance of the village, you pay Rp2000 toll, tax money for police. Then row of houses on both side of the road, about 40 houses in total. Each house had 5-15 girls of all size and shape. I chose a cute 18 year old, who just joined the trade. Usual cost is Rp200,000-250,000 but since this girl is new, mamsan demanded Rp350,000. I had to negotiate by writing the amount on a peace of paper since I can’t speak the lingo. Anyway, settled for Rp300,000=S$60 for whole night.

Girl arrived shortly to hotel. Had one bonk and then she went to sleep. Woke up in afternoon and won’t let me bonk again, say pain pain. Declined BJ, even covered one. I was quite pissed off and kicked her out without any tips or ojek money. Before she leave, she reported Mamasan that I wanted Icecream(BBBJ) and she declined and asked Mami’s permission to go back. Anyway, her punishment was to walk back to brothel, about1 kilometer from the hotel. Due to language difficulty, I did not bother to go back and argue with Mamasan.

Had a good swim at the hotel pool, had a pretty good Massage at the hotel massage center for Rp80,00 for 1 hour. There is a very good chance to get extra but I did not try. Had some seafood for dinner and went to bed.

In the morning, the buffet breakfast was a joke, but what you expect for S$20/night hotel? Got another massage in the morning, and then went to Jetty by taxi to catch my ferry back to civilization.

My next target is to try Tanjung Balai and Tanjung Pinang, but will have to work on the lingo.

I would not worry too much about "sneering smiles" from hotel doormen.
After you, all you are the one who is getting all the pussy, not them.

I would suggest that the hotel Panorama Regency (PR) is a much better bet than the Novotel, if you are looking to stay in better class digs. The doormen are better trained for a start and the hotel is within walking distance of the action. The rooms are bigger and if you dont like the hotel food, it is only a 5 minute walk to many places that have very good food, such as Bistro, Lucys Oarhouse and Red Cock.

The PR also has a good enough pool and gym that is little used during the days. I like to have pools and gyms to myself.

I also like to have a bar full of friendly young girls to myself too. Some reporters say "when we got to the PP Banana, the place was dead, so we left." When I visit a place Banana, I always HOPE there are no other customers, so I can have a room full of girls to myself. Of course, you have go in a mood ready to party and have a good time. But bargirls are party girls. That's why they do that kind of work. So unless you have the personality of dead mullet, it is usually not that hard to get some kind of fun going in a bar full of bargirls. YMMV.

There was a lot of publicity that Batam is going down becuase gambling has been stopped.

I dont gamble, so I cannot see any difference. If you want to have fun without spending loads of money, Batam is a pretty good spot to chill out for a few days.

There were some comments about sad English bules getting drunks in pubs. Well, everyone has their ups and downs in life.

A pub tip: if you are not sure whether the person you are starting the conversation with is going to be a bore or not, make sure you get your drink and PAY for it. If the conversation turns out to be a bore, simply pretend to answer your mobile phone, starting talking into it and step out the door while still talking .. and keep walking right down the strip and into another pub. Easy.

There is nothing worse than a pub bore.

However, I find that the pub goers of Batam are actually one of it's advantages, as most of them are well travelled and they work in interesting jobs in interesting parts of the world. You dont find so many Jeurgen from Europe or Bruce from Wagga Wagga on holidays, as you do in Thailand.

If you dont like tourist towns, then Batam's lack of tourists is one of it's best advantages.

The disadvantage to this is that modern facilties e.g. ATM machines and internet cafes, are not always easy to find. That doens't mean that they do not exist, just that they are not located in some main tourist strip, illuminated with neon signs.

True Batam is not for eveybody. That is why a thousand times more tourists visit Thailand than will ever visit Batam.

i quite enjoyed my night on batam. stayed at the asean hotel (now, agreed that is a dump) and picked up marla from maxims (19 year old, good face, and small **** like body). took her to ice bar (good music and an ok bar), then to hotel for a good round of mutually enjoyable fucking. she was hesistant at first about 'having ice cream' (bbbj) but then seemed unable to get enough. withdrew and came all over her arse hole from behind, which she liked.

very cheap, fun and open sex with all ranges of ages and tastes. taxi drivers were not that bad..

Agree. Me as angmo have been there once and never again. There are so many better fun places than Batam. Or even have to say, almost every place is better than Batam.
Simply avoid it.
