Whether that's your interpretation from Cucumber or not, it's rather irrelevant. The rule itself, which is more important, is that for VOA to kick in, you must arrive into Bali, Bintan, or Batam from one of the 23 approved countries, and follow the testing and quarantine procedures listed.

Arriving straight into Jakarta, you'll still need to pre-apply for a B211 A visa, do the tests and one day quarantine.

The Indo government is just so out of touch on how to simplify their own laws, I've given up being frustrated about it. There are a couple of questions that are still pertinent, asides from the elephant in the room "Why the hell are the testing and quarantine requirements so confusing and unnecessary?

So here are my questions:

1) I can bypass a B211 A visa for Indonesia by landing in Bali, follow test and quarantine procedures there, and fly to Jakarta from Bali on day 3?

2) If this is allowed, is quarantine still required in Jakarta?

My questions are probably moot by the time anyone reads it, as the government regulations will likely change again by then. Everyone's complaining why not reopen VOA everywhere and drop the bullshit quarantine requirements.

This time, I explore to the sawah besar area and visit this place called zaigon. The place is not as big as classic or malioboro but its pretty nice. The inside is practically like a lounge but in smaller scales. The ladies is not there so the GRO usually show the pictures through tablet. Once you decide, they will ask wether you want to use facilities first. So, I just relaxed at the whirpool and the sauna first. Once finished, they bring me to the room upstairs. The girl that I picked is the same with the pictures, which have the complexity of the Indonesian girl. She told me to strip down and she did the same thing too. Then, I lay down and give me a good message. After that, she told me to flip and still continued to massaged me while give me kiss or two. Her body is pretty banging and she has a gun tattoo on her upper tight and a hellokitty on top of her butt. Then, she did a body massage which is ok, then we took a shower. After shower, the real shows begin and since I'm not that good with words, all can I say its pretty darn good. My high sc shhool friend works there and she kinda hook me up with this girl so that's why I'm pretty happy. Total cost with tips is like Rp. 850.000 which is not bad at all. Till the next journey then.

No, you can fly only on Bali for VoA. There is a pcr test on arrival, then a pcr on day 3.

Foreign travelers must show a negative RT-PCR test result in the country or region of origin which samples were taken within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before the departure time.

All international travelers (Indonesian citizen and Foreign citizen) are required to quarantine with the following categories:

​Quarantine period 1 x 24 hours for those who have received second and third dose of vaccination.
Quarantine period 7 x 24 hours for those who have received the first dose of vaccination.

Foreign travelers who enter Indonesia through Batam, Bintan and Bali are required to carry out RT-PCR on the third day after arrival. With a negative result, foreign travelers could continue the activities while still implementing strict health protocols.

Foreign travelers who enter Indonesia through Batam, Bintan and Bali could leave for other destinations, with the following requirements:

A negative RT-PCR test result;
For foreign travelers who enter travel to Bali should be staying within minimum period of four days;
Comply with health protocols and requirements for foreign travelers in the destination country/region

Thanks Hilo. That's an excellent point. I forgot about Ramadan. This might be stupid question, but is it hard to monger and set up dates during holy season? Are restaurants and bars still open? Or are they closed / no drinking.

As others have said, it's Indonesia so nothing is impossible. Girls will be looking to make money in the first few weeks of Ramadan to buy nice clothes and gifts for going back to their hometown. If you go to your favourite bar you'll find it's turned into a restaurant, all the booze has been taken off the shelves and the beer taps covered up, the waitresses will be wearing modest clothing and serving you drinks in tea cups. A favourite masseuse informed me that the spa would be closing for the month, so if I needed her she would be operating out of a hotel room and just give her a call. So, it's doable, if you have a list of contacts and you know where to look, but why bother? Just go somewhere else for the month. And of course during the (now almost week-long) Idul Fitri holiday at the end of the month Jakarta becomes a virtual ghost town with absolutely nothing available, you really don't want to be there then unless you enjoy empty streets and deserted shopping malls.

I just saw it on Indonesia's Immigration website. I don't mind the requirement to stay 4 consecutive days in Bali. But can anyone else confirm if it will be possible to fly to Jakarta (after those 4 days) for my monger fill then fly home from there?

After the 4 days, assuming a negative second PCR test, you are free to check out of your hotel and travel anywhere in Indonesia.

During the one to two weeks after ramadan ends is the Eid celebration. Most of the working class of Indonesia return to their hometowns to celebrate with their family. How's the selection during this time? Is it slim pickings because the girls return home too?

You're correct that Ramadan generally and Idul Fitri can be very lean times. Especially for those without existing contacts. However, the couple of weeks before the exodus can be very good as part timers are keen to make some money to fund the trip and the gifts that are expected of a well to do city girl when she arrives back in the province.

I am not sure how the combination of Ramadan and constantly changing covid regulations will affect exactly what is open, but generally Ramadan is _not_ considered a good time to monger in Indonesia. In addition to some or many things being closed, many girls will go back to their villages for celebrations. There are stories from recent years here on the forum about people who went during Ramadan and didn't have a very good time. Search for "Ramadan" on the forum and you will find info.

Just want to let you know that visa on arrival is open for 23 countries, including the US. And if you're going to enter Bali, you don't need to be quarantined as long as you have all the vaccination and proof for your hotel's book for 8 days. Fell free to clarify or correct me if I'm wrong.

That is good news if VOA is reinstated. I have not seen anything yet online over this, maybe this policy change has just been made and not published anywhere yet. I just need to wait for their quarantine requirement to be reversed for entry into Jakarta.

By the way, for other readers who are unaware, just plan for a trip after Ramadan which is after May 2nd. It is not worth visiting Jakarta during the ramadan period since most girls will have gone back to their villages. Also, this is also the month where they will be planning to atone their past sins. After that, they can start accumulating new ones after they have completed their atonement. That is when they will open up to their wild side again.

Everything is kinda, sorta back to normal, in the sense that everywhere is open, wearing masks in public, ie shops, malls, offices etc is pretty universal but once inside restaurants and bars the masks come off. But what you perhaps haven't calculated into your plans is not Covid but the fact that mid April is the middle of Ramadan and that will put the clampers on your plans more than the coronavirus will.

Sorry for the more generics of post, but can anyone tell me about what life is like in Jakarta? Is everything on lockdown, or are people still going to the malls, restaurants and such. I am coming from the UK which is pretty much back to normal. But I hear Singapore is still pretty strict and not sure about Jakarta. Is everyone is still masking. But is business somewhat back to normal? Or people in the malls? Can I meet with clients, go to restaurants / bars / clubs, do some mongering in my hotel?

Really appreciate if someone on the ground can let me know. I am planning a trip in mid-April, which supposedly is supposed to be open borders. But ya never know with Indonesians!

Also. Anyone have luck with seeking.com in Indonesia? That is my go to site when I travel and have incredible and relatively mid-price experience through Europe and USA.
