Ok so fortunately I hooked up with a cute girl from date site for my first day and things were good. She was going to stay for 2 days. We haggled a bit over whatsapp and I thought she might be a bit mercenary but we came to an agreement. She showed up was cute, seemed sweet and we got along well. In the morning she got a call from her uncle about her mom being in hospital. She had to go which was fine but she spent about an hour trying to convince me to give her the money for the second day with the promise that she would return in the future. I gave her the agreed upon money for one day. I refused to give her money for second day which she promised she would come back for in the future. Now the unfortunate part. She left sent a few texts to ask for money then asked to come back to room and then she came up with an ultimatum that I put $300 in her bank account within 2 hours or she would go to police. All of these I ignored. I have pretty much made up my mind to ignore this black mail attempt.

Curious if anyone has any advice. I think the chats themselves pretty well identify that I didn't harm her if she goes to the police to try and claim that but I have no idea whether police here are reasonable or if they would be interested in working with her to get a cut, etc. An alternative would be for me to preempt her and go to the police to report what she is trying to do but I have doubts as to whether that would go over well. Any advice throw it up in this section please, unfortunately I cannot receive pms on here.

Hopefully I can put this behind me and have a great trip. Later I can post pic of her so others can avoid also.

I was having lunch with a buddy today and he told me of a very similar situation. He had contacted a tinder girl and agreed to 1.5 million short time. He works Tinder often when his wife is out of town. The tinder girl arrived and they did the deed, he gave her the 1.5 and everything seemed to be fine. However, she then demanded another 3 million or she would call the police and say she was raped. He said she went totally nuts on him and was screaming at him to give her the 3 million. He was reluctant to call security in that situation since he is a full time resident in Jakarta and was not in a hotel, but rather he was in his apartment and his wife was out of town. He didn't feel the scandal was worth it, so he actually did give her the 3 million.

Dragonfly is not an easy place to pick up girls. But Wednesday Friday and Saturday are the busy nights.

Quite true I would agree that's it's a place to find a decent girl but it's an option for local girls. I can't comment on the other bars as I got to My Bar when I am in Jakarta but you do sometimes find that rare gem and in my case a "deadfish". However the quality of the girls most are friendly and easy to speak with. Although on New Year's eve I noticed a strange phenomenon. There were these two girls one regular and one very new at the bar but they rejected everyone that approached them. Japanese, Korean, Caucasian and locals, even drinks they didn't accept. So sometimes you will strike out. I don't consider it the bottom of the barrel because girls from CJ's and Bats do show up eventually (after 2:00 am). I would say the level of girls in Blok M are mostly 6/7's with a few 9's and a few 0. 5 in between. But it was a lot better a few years ago.

There was a time when a couple of girls would also try to get in a quick ST before CJs / BATS getting busy. Often was at the defunct TopGun and prices were the normal Blok M prices.

So you were there about 10 minutes then left? That's what I would have done as well considering you went at least an hour before anything gets started there. If you go to My Bar, the optimal arrival time is 3am. It's a place guys go as a last resort after not finding anything at cjs or bats and those places have just closed. My Bar is open until 5am.

No. The free lancers are most likely the last ones who will be hanging outside the fishbowl. Those girls outside the fishbowl are there to smoke and eat and chit chat with each other.
