Yes. I think that since they saw we were foreigners, they raised their prices. I am glad we didn't pay it as it was so extreme.

The only issue for us is the prices. How does one negotiate to get them to reasonable prices? Thanks for any advice you can give.

I paid that overprice and I can't say it was worth it. Although the chick I had was attractive.

She wasnt worth almost 10 X the cost of classic, travel or kota.

I got the whatsapp of some of the chicks there.

They both wanted 2 M for a few hours of fun at my hotel.

My buddy and I arrived in Jakarta a day ago and decided to head to Malioboro last night. This is our first time here, so the reports I have been reading here have been very helpful. We arrived at about 7 pm and was told that the club didn't open until 8 pm, but we could go to the lounge until then. We were also told the card to enter was 150 K, so we each got one and sat down. A mamasan and a man came up to us as soon as we entered and shook our hands. We ordered a beer and the mamasan pulled out a card with prices. It has 5 levels of prices from Silver to Import. The starting price was 1 Million for the low-end girls. There were a lot of nice-looking girls, but we felt the prices were too high.

We drank until 8 pm and walked over to the club. There was a lot more girls here and not enough men, so the ratio was good. As noted in other reports, as soon as they saw us come in, about 5 girls swarmed us for drinks. We started to talk about prices and it was 3. 8 M for full service which was crazy. Ramadan doesn't really seem to have slowed anything down from what I can see. The only issue for us is the prices. How does one negotiate to get them to reasonable prices? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Yes being a business mentor and helping the young lady with the commercialisation of her assets can be very satisfying work.

No, not much mentoring required on that one. Running a sugardaddy and boyfriend in the background, you'd wonder who needed the mentoring the most. Her income was probably a bit flattered because of that. But the point being freelancing bars are much more fun and fairer environment than the average boring knock shop on offer in the kota.

In grand scheme of things, you'd really hope some government officials would start running numbers and try to understand night entertainment a little bit better. Thailand is well known for it's bar and entertainment night life. Pattaya, Phuket, Patpong, the Soi's. Etc. It gets 40 million visitors each year.

Indonesia, even with tourist magnet Bali and being a much larger country, only 16 million foreign visitors. Some would argue that's because of the beach holidays in Thailand, but the beaches in the Philippines, don't get much better in this world and they only get 8 million. Must be Thai food then, 40 million visitors each year that travel to Thailand craving for a culinary experience.

But another argument why local governments and policy makers should be lenient or supportive towards freelancing bars like the ones that were once blok M.

No mamasans, pimps, cops to bribe or young girls being coerced into prostitution. Single moms, flaunting their beautiful asses. I remember one of my ex GF's in the blok some 20 years ago, single mom, the bars was what kept her boat afloat. If memory serves correct, she was picking up 14 to 16 million each month. Some were doing more, some less. Depending how often she went, how many boyfriends she could juggle, etc. It resulted in two paid off houses, one she rents out. She regards her time in the blok now as one of the best in her life.

Contiguous building closer to the street. Entrance is also closer to the street (difficult to miss, you may have walked right passed it). Spa on lower floor (s?) I think (never prioritized that), 2nd or 3rd floor is a rock'and'roll bar (not open recently I think) and large hall with a kind of restaurant layout (tables and chairs), stage (sometimes with dancers), bar, and sofas with selection of girls with badges in different colors. Higher floors have rooms, and on one of those floors it is possible to cross over to the club part of Malioboro where I got the impression that you were.

There's plenty out there who arent brave enough to ride around in a shitbox bajai in the middle of the night after their testicles have siezed control of their brain and here you are, toot tooting around some goddawful slums in a bajai, drinking warm beer, fornicating with old hags and getting slapped around like a true *****.

Keep up the good work says OS. Fails are part of punting life although OS has noticed that he does have a propensity for them. But in the opinion of this correspondent, it's the journey, not the destination and what could possibly go wrong?

It would be worth making the point though, that this is also testament to the nature of Indonesians, they may be happy to stiff you for money but would you do this in Manila? Or Bogota?

I ended up picking an absolute stunner to take to the private rooms on Level 4. Said she was 21 but had the cutest babyface, tiny (definitely under 150) and only 35 kg. I'd guess about 3 kg of that was on her chest too, see pic.
