I be a loyal Seeking user every time I go to Jakarta. And there are some very expensive model, influencer, actress types on the site, I can usually find a few HOT gems for approx $150 for a few hours of fun at my apartment.

I personally would not call it a boarding house as typically just have your own bedroom with shared facility such as kitchen, bathroom, toilet, etc. For you meals, in general you will need to sort it out by yourself.

Oddly I liked this hole in the wall bar. I always went after Kimochi Mabes and before the Suisse bakery. There was another bar on the same street as Kartika but I forgot the name. Berlion? Is that place open still?

Kelapa gading hotels allows all taxi's. Don't waste you money on Bluebird. Download Gojek, the Indonesian uber. It is cheaper, safer and faster. Never have to wait more then 5 minutes for a pick up. Every hotel allows it. If not, they would not be able to recognise is. Just say a friend will pick you up. The app even has integrated translation to English now so you can chat with the driver.

I do not see any advantage in staying in Hotel Classic. I never understood why Management does not allow Hotel guests to bring girls back to their Room.

I recommend you stay at Grand Mercure Harmoni. This is a short Taxi ride from Classic.
If you are looking for a cheaper Hotel, there is a IBIS right next to the Grand Mercure. You will save 50% or more versus the Grand Mercure.

Buddy, I stayed in Hotel Classic 5 years ago in my first visit in intention of bringing girls from the brothel to my room. It is not easy and not worth. Rooms are not good. Lot of options on stay nearby and check it with your budget. Take a room walkable distance to classic, Malioboro and Emporium if you are focusing on Classic.
