Unless I found the wrong Classic Hotel, but Google is telling be it's quite affordable.

Each night in classic hotel cost around 400 k via Agoda. They also don't have weekly discount for long term stayed.

I booked one with weekly discount near komplex (Primahotel ITC) for 250 k / night.

So an equivalent hotel, 5 min walk to komplex, 30% cheaper.

It is a slum, The whole Penjaringan area is a slum and they can be nasty through there. The nearby Bahari apartments are where they went from floor to floor during the Jakarta riots raping and tossing people off their balconies.

The only reason I decided to try the train tracks is because I experienced dump places in south China twenty years ago (now defunct thanks to the chairman). You have to have pretty high stamina and exceedingly low standards to be able to cop one out.
