Bobisee, people here use TC for Today's Country or Tiara Ceria. I'm not sure which is right, but it's on the second floor of Lokasari Plaza in north Jakarta. It's a bar and brothel in a small shopping mall. It used to be absolutely fantastic in late afternoons/early evenings. You could do drop dead beautiful young stunners for next to nothing. From recent reports it's not nearly what it used to be.

About Jalan Jaksa, I stayed away because the women were ugly. And I never saw a lot of hookers there. The first time I was in Jakarta I stayed at the Sari Pan Pacific, around the corner, so did investigate the area. And as you suspect there are much better mongering areas in Jakarta. You'd be better off moving to Blok M to the south or the area around Jalan Mangga Besar to the north. Blok M is more English friendly, while the latter has a lot more hotties.

For those who do indulge, ecstasy and shabu shabu (meth) seem to be the drugs of choice, and are not usually injected. You'll find the odd heroin user around Jl. Jaksa, but most girls there are to be avoided.

I've been in the Jaksa St. area for several days now and had three p4p ladies. Is the suggestion that "most girls there are to be avoided" because of the sicknesses associated to drug usage ?

Thanks for the security info. I might be a little different than many in that I won't trust the ladies enough not to always keep an eye on them, that is ... when they are in my room or around my stuff. Usually my good shit won't be left out to where the girls can be easily tempted.

I was used to go to TC, where, in the past, you could find good girls, students, going there part time for cashing a little money. This year I visited again TC, and I found it empty of girls an full of indonesian men drinking beer; that's not the venue of 4-5 years ago. It's a pity.

Can someone of you members write me where I can find a nice and clean student, for a reasonable price. Once TC was the best venue in Pacific Rim.

Most of Jakarta is seedy (Hotel Travel neighborhood is safe and I loved the street food), I wouldn't stay in a hotel near Hotel Travel but I wouldn't stay in a hotel in many places that have good P4P activities. And being the only white guy in the place is irrelevant. You are just another customer, treated well, and I never had a girl care that I wasn't Asian. The girls are of high quality, the price is right, so don't deny yourself one of the pleasures of Jakarta.

Whilst I agree with the tone of your report, there are many establishments, especially in North Jakarta and Sanur's X houses where Bule's will not be serviced. This is at the discretion of the individual girl and whilst one will not, the one beside her may. Its just a quirk of the trade. Whilst in somewhere like Blok M or the 5 star hotel clubs, the reverse can apply.

Lots of girls. Even early evening. Many good looking. Around 30 USD (300, 000 IDR) is the going rate. But take your time in choosing. And remember this is not a place designed for Westerners (Bule). It is for Asians. You'll probably be the only white guy in the place. Which is not a problem. But realize in advance that, while you can sit there and drink beer as you decide, this is not Blok M in South Jakarta (a place set up for Westerners. A sort of tamer-yet-still-pub-like experience of Thailand/Cambodia). It's a brothel for Indo guys and other Asians who can blend in better than you. (don't let me put you off. It's fine. But not for everyone)

If you are Okay with that. Then you will find a well-stocked in-house experience.

Plus side is that it has good looking girls available earlyish evening. A one-stop shop. Negative side is that the whole area it is pretty seedy and aside from a couple of decent middle-priced hotels in the area (RTF-Hotels-F), you are miles from everything else like Blok M and Shopping Malls. Though near the tall ships. Jakarta has worst traffic in SE Asia. Be warned.

Once had a girl take my aftershave ... and another took another girls earrings which had been left beside the bed. Both Blok M girls, but it was in the early days when I was new in town. Both girls still around and both subsequently aologised with some made up excuse .. but I have been lucky with wallets and other items and put it down to the fact that I almost always take girls from Blok M only and I am very well known there. If I am doing a short time in North Jakarta I am extra vigilant. But to echo what others say here, by and large Indonesian girls seem to be reasonably honest and they know the repercussions of getting a reputation for misbehaving like that.

Was wondering if there are many horror stories of hotel guests having their stuff stolen from their rooms in Jakarta, esp. the lower priced places.

Yep, some years ago i got complacent. Picked up this Chinese lady (30 in age) from Sulawesi. Funny thing was I met her in the company of some folks in a bar in Jalat Jaksa and did not even bed her on the first night. Met her again the next night and took her back to my room at the Paragon. Good fun in bed, very gfe and after the deed I could not fall asleep. The call for prayer was going on and boy are they loud. I put in some earplugs so as to get some shut eye.

Woke up a few hours later to a lot of missing items. Two mobile phones (plus chargers, spare batteries), MP3 player, glasses, sun-glasses and a lot more. I still do not know how she managed to pass the reception desk without drawing attention. Hmmm. For the next week I kept reaching into my bag for something only to find that it was no longer there. Happily she did not find my stash of a couple of hundred dollars hidden in my luggage but she found just about everything else. At least my credit cards, drivers license and passport were in the safety deposit box at reception.

Met the "friends" (mainly expats and their girlfriends) again later that evening. It turned out that they were not her friends but just some folks she latched onto. I later remembered one of the girls in the bar/cafe where we had been drinking had had her mobile stolen.

The reality was that I had let my guard down. Had it been some professional from Blok M, I would have just gone short time with her. But in my beer sodden state, I had decided that because she "knew" the expats, did not ask for money, that she was a non-pro and therefore ok! The reality is that I had mistaken her profession - she was not a hooker but a thief!

I've traveled to many countries. I think the indo girls are the most honest. Thai girls are also pretty honest. In my 10 years in Asia, I've never had any indo or thai girl take anything from me. And many times I've left my wallet or even open cash sitting on the table while I passed out drunk.

Try leaving your wallet on the table then go to sleep drunk in Africa or China. Your money won't be there long.

Most hotels provide safe, I recommend USE it.

I have heard rumors about a place (private house) near the Hotel Crystal in Cilandak, but have not been able to find it, even after asking taxi, bajaj and ojek drivers.

Was at Maribaya the other day, and have to confirm what others have posted – that the price has gone up form 400,000 to 450,000. Still not a bad deal, as I have always received excellent service there.

Actually, the only time I was disappointed was with a girl on the evening shift (After 5 PM), and wondered if any others have noticed any difference between the service comparing the day staff to the night staff?

I've never had anything taken in Indonesia. In fact, it's usually quite the opposite. I recall staying at a 2 star hotel near Lokasari, and I left some drinks in the room that I had brought with me. As I was leaving, the room attendant came rushing down with a bag full of the items to return to me.

I wish I could say the same in other countries.
