Actually, I only feel like I've been ripped off for the special massage. 50 bucks is a little bit high. I actually thought that the KTV was decent value. Even if I had paid the 750k for the takeout (which I didn't), I wouldn't have felt ripped off. So why the hell did I post in the first place? Well, I guess that I just felt like it. It was a new experience for me, there's no use to RTFF after the fact right and well, part of why I like posting is to spark discussion.

I realize that most mongerers don't like KTV cause they feel like it's poor value for the money, but count me in the minority I suppose. And in other parts of Asia, KTV can run much higher than USD180 per person (without takeout). I realize that Indonesia ought to have lower prices. And if I go back, then I will take this into account. The fact that we got TWO bottles of Johnny Gold in that price made everything seem pretty reasonable.

In the end, I was basically just following my buddies and since they're local figured it would be ok. Obviously, you think I got ripped off, but except for the special massage, I would have to disagree.

Look, I could say that any idiot who heads out to Wan Chai (I'm based in HK) and pays 1000-1500 HKD for a filipino or indo for LT is a dumbass and he's just throwing away his money. Especially when you can get 141 for about 400HKD ST, if you want two pops, then just go back after you wake up for another one at a total price of 800HKD. But some folks just prefer a certain game, and don't I necessarily want to begrudge them that game. I felt like 180USD for KTV with no takeout is a fair price. I enjoyed my time there. Not familiar with BATS. And if you think about it, KTV takeout is typically LT, so 750k for KTV (LT) takeout is about the same as two BATS ST takeouts, right?

Anyway, glad to have my first ROD. Do you go around authorizing every damn request for ROD? I wasn't even the one who asked for it! A place that i have recently (last few months) started using doesnt find a mention to often here. This is in Mayestik, near Blok M.

Thanks to restrictions of home, I find it tough to slip out in the evenings/weekend, I find the trudge to Panjay (perhaps the best VFM) quite far, TC and enhanced mongering have to be restricted to when the family is out of town and finally - I am a little wary of using the 6th floor - the entrance to Hotel Melawai is on the main road, and its pretty apparent if someone sees you walking in and out of the place.

Hence - valuing discretion, and convenience (lunchtime from work) over price I have started heading to a couple of Massage parlours in Mayestik, this is just a short cab ride from Blok M. Its a busy textile market area which is good, I usually wander into a place called Sentral.

You go into the front desk and they ask you what kind of girl you want - you then have the option of a) asking for a massage and negotiating a fuck with the girl itself or b) asking for a "pake" - which is all in.

The room itself is I guess standard for the MP's - low level bed, a oval bathtub etc.

Girl comes in - usually quite pretty and in line with the photo. generally speaking it helps to describe what you want to the front desk (the lady there reminds me somehow of a faded 30's star of the silver screen gone to seed over the years).

Ive used Monna a few times - tall (5'8" I would guess), quite pretty and not skinny, buxom being the word. sexy without being fat. "Special massage" in a 5* hotel is ALWAYS expensive. There are postings on this from me and other contributors. As for "going rate", they usually ask 1 juta and rarely settle for less than 450,000 (in my fairly limited experience) so of course it's very bad value for money. The main "value" for me is in the excitement of not being sure whether I will get it or not! Certainly you don't always score.

The mamasans (I have seen) around the outside of PI have been there for years, over 10 years in the case of at one of them. If you are desperate and can't find a girl inside (a much better option) it would be fairly low risk to go with one of them. A safer option of course would be to get her to bring a girl (or 2 or 3) to you to see first; they will often do that. He was staying there and had charged the massage for the both of us to his room - he had actually wanted to go to a different place (can't remember the name but pretty sure it's a no-special sort of place - in the hotel next to Meridien) but they were full and due to time constraints, went to the massage offered in his hotel. yes, the ktv was a place for local chinese indonesians... as my buddy is a local chinese indonesian, whereas, i'm just chinese. actually didn't feel ripped off as prices for ktv elsewhere are quite a bit higher (used to paying 200-300usd per person - hey it's a personal preference). normally have about zero attraction to indos (which i suppose is part of the reason why i hadn't planned on p4p and didn't rtff in the first place), but the girl i picked out turned out to be pretty nice and actually started changing my own opinion on indos. we also got two bottles of johnny walker gold which runs about 80usd each in duty free, which made me feel the price for ktv only was pretty reasonable. of course i would've liked to have takeout but as i mentioned in the original post, was ok without it. was actually wondering what the price for takeout at a "local chinese indonesian" ktv was. based on other points of reference, at 75usd, i think the price is pretty decent actually, again - based on my own personal past experiences outside of indonesia.

Only conclusion I can come to is he is trying to encourage newbies....
