The main thing about that place is you need to watch your wallet. There are lots of pick pockets there, and even though the place is huge, it gets packed. Asshole pick pockets will take advantage of how packed it is and will brush up against you acting like they are dancing. And do not trust anyone to buy you a drink. Buy your own bottle of water and open it yourself. It's a common scam there for guys (mainly Arabs and Malaysians) to act friendly then slip a roofy into your drink, take you to a private room and rob you. I haven't heard of locals doing that, but I wouldn't put it past them.

I am glad you survived! I was thinking of going there on Saturday but I would have been solo so probably a good idea not to.

You would be fine as long as you don't take the same stimulants you are buying for the girls you want to take home. I wouldn't go there before 1 am. I normally arrive at around 2 am if I go there. Wow, what a night, I have mongered all over the world but man, this place here in Jakarta can be what I call the sharkiest place in the world. And this place is called the Golden Crown. I am not sure if I am in the right state of mind to write out the narratives of what I had experienced, but I was lucky enough to have a local patron navigate me through this labyrinth of shark infested freelancers.
