First Trip to Jakarta.

Thank you to all in this forum for sharing the info.

Immigration was smooth and had to scan the code and fill in the details, came out of the airport quickly. There was a couple of money exchanges at the exit and I felt the rates were bad and, I picked up some stuff in Indomart, which was near the taxi bay.

I took a grab from the airport to holiday inn Gajah Mada, with parking and toll fee. It came to 200 k. Paid and checked in to the hotel. Rooms are spacious, the WiFi is good, but I felt the bathroom wasn't that clean, and I asked to clean it. Breakfast was okay and the coffee was bad.

I feel Jakarta traffic is better than Bangkok traffic, the temperature is hot and humid. I like walking, and I miss those juice or fruit shops which I find in Bangkok and Pattaya. I have used grab for all the trips and it's pretty cheap compared to Bluebird, which can be found in the hotel lobby.

Day 1.

Went to the Classic at 5 pm. There were 80 odd girls and picked 2 girls for 500 k and yes, mamasan were aggressive and I took time to select the girls. First looked too young to be there and second, a little older. Girls are willing to please, but in terms of customer satisfaction, I feel Thailand is better. I would like to visit Jakarta again, but not soon.

If you mean ladies in their late 20's and above then it's going to be CJ's in the Mulia Hotel, BATS in the Shang-ri-la. If you want a pub scene and are there over the weekend, maybe start of in Eastern Promise. It's more a local expat hang-out but attracts a fair few ladies looking to hook-up., - the place is a bit of a "Tardis", looks small at teh front, but just goes on forever. Always a good place to start a night as you can get a good curry to fire things up.

Some time ago there was a google map created and occasionally updated with the location and approximate price levels of various establishments. Search the forum for "Jakarta" + "Map".

It would be reasonable to refer to that map, while removing dead locations. That'll also permit to plan your travel around clusters of establishments, as evening travel across Jakarta is truly terrible.
