Just wondering from those in Jakarta how Covid has affected rates. Most likely on Tinder dates since bars are closed.
Have they dropped down from 1. 5 million. Which is what I was mostly quoted last November?
Cheers, Traveler.

Curious if anyone with more experience than myself has any updates on other places open for business? Anything in South Jakarta that comes to mind?

Ended up out for a walk and found a little alley with lots of little bars and "massage" shops (with bars) that seemed pretty open for business. That is if your stomach can handle that level of sleaze.
Luckily mine can.
The alleys are in the north along the side of the old Stadium near the Antoni Hotel:
Jalan Hayam Wuruk No. 111 F-G, RT. 10/ RW. 9, Maphar, Tamansari, RT. 10/ RW. 9, Maphar, Kec. Taman Sari, Kota Jakarta Barat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 11160, Indonesia.

Apologies if I'm mentioning something that everyone here is already aware of, but as a newcomer it seemed to be an interesting find during a time when all of the fun seems pretty shut down.

Posts: 80So true, Hilo77. So true. I typically ride with Ibu Gern on Sunday mornings, and I try to keep her in front of me so she cannot see my head waggling from side to side when we ride through some of the loops in Bintaro, BSD, PIK or TangSel. I must give some of the new riders credit, though. They are working hard to stay healthy!

Posts: 80It is a local brand, OS, but it has been upgraded to acceptable specifications, and it takes me comfortably to the many hideaways that are still available for the savvy cyclist. Not as effective as OS's iron horse, but still very suitable for Saturday morning excursions! And with 1000% more cyclists than before Covid, there are many interesting riders on the highways and byways to make the scenery interesting.

According to Pos Kota, which follows the Indonesian demimonde in loving detail, agents from the National Narcotics Agency have busted one of those discos along Jl. Daan Mogot, just past Ciputraworld, for running an underground, sleazy drug-fueled den of barely disguised prostitution and karaoke.
Those Daan Mogot places were a lot of fun, as I have argued in my previous posts. Off the grid, but, as always, welcoming to befuddled bules with smiles who could speak Bahasa, drunkenly. Pro tip: Pos Kota says to enter through the alleys behind the disco. Google Translate the article below, for those illiterate in Indonesian.
