It's official. Last night tonight and they are all closed as a minimum until 5 April. Then it will be the fasting month so you can consider the place shut down to the end of May month. So get on out there tonight for those brave enough.
Those pokey little rooms would make great cut price isolation wards. Maybe they can keep the revenue flowing in like that. Get the room boys to wear nurse costumes.
You are definitely an idea man. You should speak to Jokowi about that. Those rooms indeed would be perfect.

You actually may have hit on something there, those huge places like Classic etc could make excellent isolation wards, they have the beds and a gazillion tons of bed linen, presumably laundries too. Kitchens too, up to a point to provide basic food. The Chinese government used vast sports halls but the clubs would be much better. I can't imagine the government ever opting for this though, can you imagine them officially acknowledging that such places even existed and people asking questions about what their purpose was before they were turned into makeshift hospitals? The pictures of the scantily clad females on the walls would need to be painted over too.
Anyhoo, with the plague and Ramadan to follow we have nothing else for it other than three months of enforced virtue it sounds like. It could do wonders for our health and bank balances if we all spend it exercising and refraining from drink and the pleasures of the flesh. Can you imagine what the release will be like when it's all over, the pent-up enthusiasm will make Spring Break in Florida look like Idul Fitri.

and a photo of a brothel girl who had a bad fever three days ago and took one day off work to recover.
She looks cute from what I can see.
That's the reality of the current situation. If the girl is capable of working she will. You're likely to have contracted the virus before you can determine that she is even sick.
My regular from King Cross just called me tonight and said they were closing for two weeks and could I come see her. Except Indonesia is closed to foreigners now with no more VOA and you have to go to the embassy first and prove you are healthy.
I was out of town for much of last week and have been working remotely all this week so I am completely out of touch.
So what's it like out there? Has everything shut down or is it business as usual? Have the bars and clubs closed or are they still operating? Are freelancers still willing to make house calls or has the fear of the dreaded lurgey kept them at home?
I imagine the girls providing VCS services must be minting it at the moment?

Deduce from these what you will. A couple of photos of the recent document saying everything will be shut down, and a photo of a brothel girl who had a bad fever three days ago and took one day off work to recover. That girl did contact me two days later wanting me to come to her place of work though. Haha.

OS favourite lurk gang was alive for sure Sunday night as OS had a rather debauched evening there. Numbers were down but the lads were still out playing. OS figured he would have one last roll in the turd before resuming his life of virtue and responsibility and nothing but a phoneful of picture memories to last him through the winter.
At this time they are still open today as OS confirmed with his friend who is security but you would need to be a serious player to be out there now.

AGREED. But Cathay Pacific's travel deadline for a refund or rebooking currently ends on April 30th. I have to wait for them to extend that to May 5th or beyond. Time will tell.
Thanks!
The rebooking date has been extend to May 31 so now I can rebook the flight for free.
And you are going during Ramadhan. The girls always drop their price during Ramadan. I think that's just because it's a tradition for them to always drop it at Ramadan when there are so few guys there. This coronavirus is to new to them, they haven't come to terms yet that they need to drop their price.
I knew a guy a couple of years ago who said he struggled on Tinder to find girls during Ramadan. But I think that was because he had just been in Jakarta a couple of months earlier for his very first trip and had already matched a lot of the girls so it just seemed it was slow. Last year I had no trouble finding girls on Tinder during Ramadan. But I actually prefer going to BATS because the girls did drop their price at Ramadan.
Although you can get cheaper prices during Ramadan because the girls are desperate, it's still not as fun as going any time when it's not Ramadan.
It took a couple of Ramadans for me to realize the landscape during that break before Eid. It's pretty bad. Most small fishbowls are completely closed with a type or handwritten note pinned on the front door of the building advising that they won't reopen until a week or two after Eid. Most discos and karaoke are completely closed for a month. All of the popular places like Travel or Classic close earlier. I was lucky to have scored from "delivery". The young rascally bellboy knew how to gain my favor and in turn earned himself a nice bonus when he delivered a early 20's beauty with a curvy body to my door. Sadly, the price was heavier than usual at 700 k for two hours. After I tipped the masseuse and my new found friend, I think I was 1. 3 M out. No matter, I had a great evening and kept her WA contact info. This was a year ago, so it's rather pointless to share it out now.
Personally, I think you should just cancel the trip and make other plans. Indonesia has banned tourist arrival visas for at least the next month. Who knows if you will even be able to come to Indonesia until this coronavirus panic if over?

Thanks for the heads-up. I did, in fact, remind several girls that my visit was during Ramadan and all replied to me, "No problem".
But you reminded me to check with the other top prospects as well.
One things for sure, *planning ahead* has little meaning in Indonesia. Best to have a triple backup.

I bought Pimsleur's language lessons. Not cheap, but works much better than the "memorize this" approach taken by all the usual websites.
I am using the app Duolingo to learn Indonesian on my phone. It makes learning a language a bit like a game. Quite pedagogical, ok algorithms and lots of repetition. Starts real easy, then gets more difficult, and you can choose your own pace. I find it is quite effective. I mostly do while commuting to work. It's a freemium setup, so you can use it as much as you like entirely for free with a few limitations and then see whether you want to get rid of those limitations later on.
Kucing hitam dan putih! (one of the first phrases I have learned. Not so useful for our sphere of interest, but I'm expecting to get there).
