Northern Jakarta vs. Southern Jakarta for Mongering

Is it worth it to check out the two red light districts in southern Jakarta (Jalan Falatehan I and Melawai), or should I stick to the northern JK red light district (Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta) and the nearby brothels (Classic, Emporium, Malio, etc.)?

I'm asking because I only have 3 nights in Jakarta, and want to use my time wisely.

    Cheers.

I stayed there for 4 days in August after a last-minute change in travel plans brought me back to Jakarta at 9 pm on a Tuesday night.

My fiancé recommended it. I thought it was very nice and much less expensive than Shangri-la and Mulia where I stayed the other 18 nights.

    Smartfren SIM

Smartfren is a company that circumvents the need for IMEI registration.

I've been using a Smartfren SIM in my unregistered overseas bought modern phone for the past 2 years without issue.

I bought my SIM from a counter in ITC Kuningan (Level 3 or 4, wherever the all the phone counters are), but they're available all over the place.

As mentioned, get the staff to install it for you.

Hi Menteng. Thanks for your commments. But whys do you say can't use INdo SIM card in mobile phone abroad? I have been doing that last 4-5 times to Jakarta. It always works. I go to Telkosel at Mal Ambassador and they give me cheap card and register my IMEI.

But are you sayings if you spend MORE than 90 days in Indonesia (total, including in and out) then it doesn't work, must register?

    Sorry if I am confused.

Thanks Mr. GB for your postage. I sure you are correct. I am just a bit freaked out when Telkosel service staffs told me 'this is the last time we can dos it for you".

Did you use a Indo SIM card? Or you using home country SIM with Roaming.

I am curious. But again cheers and thanks.

So unless it just changed. The VOA less than 30 day Visa arrivals don't need the IMEI registration.

    Cheap SIM cards

You can easily get a very cheap SIM card at the airport with unlimited data allowance. I find this is always the best solution when staying for a few weeks and avoids a lot of trouble. It is important to get the people who sell you the SIM card to install it to, and to test it before you leave. It takes them 5 min, whereas for you it might be very tricky. Also make sure to get one with fast internet speed and where the speed doesn't decline after a certain amount of time. I have a phone with two SIM card slots so I can keep my SIM card from my home country running for incoming calls and texts, and route everything else through the local SIM card.

Registering a foreign phone is cumbersome and takes time. SIM cards for foreigners are not easily available apart from at the airport.

However, for MiChat, only a proper local phone and SIM card will work. I have the impression that MiChat is useful for mongering in places like Yogyakarta. It has a function that enables you to see other people with MiChat nearby - including service providers. But I don't have the impression that MiChat is very useful in Jakarta.

I am lucky that I still have an Indonesian SIM card and mobile phone, dating from before those measures. I left those at a friend and left some money to top up the card every now and then to keep it "alive". So, when I'm in Indonesia I use those to tetter(?) with my foreign mobile phone.

Since you are a frequent visitor, I think you know somebody that can help you to purchase a cheap second hand mobile phone and a local SIM card on her / his name. And do as I do.
Alternatively, just buy a cheap Chinese phone in Indonesia. People get a brand new phone with brand new battery and dual simcard slots for less than IDR2m.

For second-hand there are a lot of them available for less than IDR1m.

Getting Indonesian phone no need to register, no need to top up (unless you need it), no need to worry about expiry date of the IMEI registration.

And they will register my phone using my passport info. I usually stay for few weeks (under 30 days) in town and then leave.

Have any of your frequent travelers to Indonesia has this issue? Please advice. Thank you. I am sorry, but I might post this in Bali forum also because they might be more in-out travelers. The governmetn website is very useless not helps.

In Jakarta, I had no problem buying Lilly Cialis 20 MG at Kimia Farma without a prescription.

I find I can't even be bothered with a re-match now, no matter how hot the girl may be. I met this 25 yo a few weeks back, absolutely gorgeous, lovely smile, great personality, knew how to crack a joke and more importantly when to laugh at my jokes. Perhaps her only drawback was she had a kid and her boobs wouldn't have been as pert as they once were but still, definitely an 8. 5.

But best of all she was an absolute polecat in the sack. I mean she was into it all, the filthier the better, and she loved it. I couldn't believe it, here's a combo that if I had met 30 years ago in my hometown I would have fallen head over heels in love with, promising marriage, the works, I'd have been walking on the clouds for a week after.

We exchanged numbers and on the way home I was thinking when I could next meet up with her and all the things I'd do. The next morning, however, I'm getting text messages, when can we meet again? And what will we do? But I'm like, "Meh, I've been there, done that. Sure, it was great but do I really need a repeat?

The messages got so desperate, so pleading that I eventually blocked her.

I mean who needs that at our time of life? Am I right?
I fall in love all the time in Thailand. Like 10 times a day and especially for whichever glamour SnFs me that day. Then I'm off. Very fussy with women overall these days (50's I am).

Love some girls in SOi 6 Pattaya. Do them once or twice LT and it is Adios Muchacas.

Love is a state between lust and boredom.

I love early-mid 30 ladies, MILFS but the quality around the globe seems to have headed way south as CPI has driven perceived prices way higher.

I'm here later tonight to try some sweet Indo pussy. Its all an exciting new venture. My 1st time in Java. Safe, cheap and full of hottees.

    YMMV.

    Arriiving Tomorrow

I RTFF. Thanks yall for the information. I've been all over the dodgy places in Indo, ex military yada yada yada, used to speak fluent Bahasa 30+ years ago. Anyway I have never stepped foot on Java so am looking forward to it. I know many Aussies, fellow Norwegians and Swedes who live here so it should be a fun trip. I love Indonesian food and have cooked it since I was 14 or so.

GADO GADO FTW, Beef rendang is heaven (any recommendations for A+ Beef Rendang would be welcomed).

Will check out BATS, other recommendations and report back as I usually do. Special thanks to OS, Banana Boi (always value), Raksopheni and others for great information. I'm finding this is one of the better threads on ISG, with more facts, more fun, less BS and less ego. I am very keen to see what $200 buys at Malio and Kings X.

I'm staying at the Grand Mercure for a week which is 6-7 km from BATS etc but I guess it will be ok for 8 nights in JK.

    YMMV.
