Thanks for the great reports Cucumber. I will be in Jakarta in a few weeks and seek the good times. I think I will try my luck on Seeking (SA) as I am a bit of a timid monger and not sure how comfortable I will feel at some of these massage establishments.

But I will make sure to detail my experiences. I am interested to hear how Singers will treat you, as OT, Geylang and Brix are closed from what I heard.

I would not go to Jakarta in the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is slower than the rest of the year, and now everything is slower due to covid. The combination of Ramadan and covid regulations does not bode well for mongering IMHO.

If you are really timid, why go with an online dating service like Seeking? I would think it takes a more braveness and self-confidence to meet up with a girl you met there, as it is just the two of you and the onus is on you and her. If you go to one of the big establishments in Jakarta (Travel, Classic, Malioboro), it is just like going to a relaxed bar. Except that you don't have to chat up anybody whatsoever, the mamasans will take care of that (thoroughly). Hell, they'll match you up with a girl even if you are asleep. To me it seems like the perfect solution for a timid guy. Go to Classic at 4 pm and it won't be too loud, there won't be many guys and there will be a lot of girls available. The mamas will bring them to you one or two at a time. You have a look, maybe ask a few questions and then choose.

Here in Singapore I have a civilian girlfriend and she is rather possessive, so no mongering for me here in any case. The upside is that I save some money which I can spend when I am back in a cheaper mongering location. And unlike the Jakarta girls who hardly speak a word of English, I can have a proper conversation with her. After a week of trying to communicate through Google translate, it is kind of nice to be with someone I can both have sex with and talk with in a meaningful way.

I know that for some of the old-timers on the forum some of my info is stuff they know very well and that has been discussed on the forum before. But I am writing for everybody.

It has been a while since there has been any report on this since the pandemic, so you might actually one of the first to report on it.

One of the girls told me a lot about how things are organized. Classic, Travel, Malio, Kings Cross and Sumo all have the same owner. They live in dorms controlled by the club. 3-4 girls in each room with bunks. 56 girls in one house. I have seen videos of the inside, and they don't look too rough. Many girls come in on a contract, which means they get a loan and then have to work it off. If you pay 375 000 for an hour, the girl gets about 95 000 out of that. So she is living off the tips. Please bear that in mind and be generous. I tip heavily for good performance. Out of 20 girls, I may pay a tip of 1 million to the 1-2 best, 700 000 to a couple of them, 4-500 000 to many of them and 2-300 000 to the weaker performers. 0 tip is only if a girl really creates problems or something. Some people would probably say I overpay, but I don't think they respect the girls. I try to be nice, caring, and generous. I think it's the right thing to do in itself, it also gives some really nice interaction.

The girl also told me she used to make 10 million per month, now it is more like 5 million. There are much fewer customers and much fewer girls, everything is kind of quiet. She is very good with people, so I expect she earns more than many of the others. They have an antigen test every third day. Medical checkups every three months, including HIV test and full gynaecological examination she claimed, but I am not sure. As per ISG rules I am not permitted to write about my own observations concerning venereal diseases, so you are on your own there.

Glad to see that you are not one of those Cheap Charlies. Yeah, tip the girl well since they don't really earn much and a significant chunk on what you pay on the bill goes to the mafia. If you listen from the girls, they charge all sorts of expenses on these girls and one wonder how they would ever get away from their financial bondage.

People wear face masks a lot. Security guards at the entrances to buildings remind people to put them on before going in. Evenings are quiet. Streetside stalls selling nasi goreng still operate until midnight or a bit later, but most restaurants close very early. Kings Cross and Sumo are closed, I was told. CJs is also closed, not clear when they will open (I called them and checked). At the moment Jakarta is not what it used to be. But I expect it to bounce back at some point.

I reckon CJ might still be closed since many foreigners are still not able to go to Jakarta without going through all the hoops. Hope it bounces back soon as you said to pre-pandemic time. My only recourse is to use Seeking or SA to connect with those new freelancers should I visit Jakarta again this year.

I finally found the time to write up the impressions from the last days before I left Jakarta. Unfortunately I am already forgetting stuff, as some nice time with a freebie regular of mine here in Singapore erases other memories.

In the last days I revisited Classic, Travel and Malioboro. Confirmed the impressions I have already provided here on the forum. If you are willing to trawl through some girls, you can find gems at both Classic and Travel. It is also important not to let the mamasans steer you too much. They are pushy, but you take the decisions.

Some girls are willing to meet up in their spare time. They often ask for a lot of money for that, like 2 million for a night, but quickly come down.

Malioboro is a notch up from Classic and Travel. If you go to the club part (further away from the street), enter, go up to the mezzanine overlooking the dancers and stand there a bit, groups of girls will start approaching you, flirting for lady drinks. They are dancers waiting for their turn. Some of them are are e a l l why hot. But they cost something like 3. 2 million.

I also managed to get to the Kota Indah you-shaped alley just off Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta. This is a rough-looking alley where people go out drinking and partying. It looks a bit like a Thai alley, but darker and rougher, with a bunch of relatively small bars a few feet apart: Starmoon, Sari Ayu, New Sari Ayu, Grand LA, MTR. Usually they are packed with happy, drunk, smoking locals. Rowdy but friendly. Layout is a bit like an American diner, but at the back there is an area with perhaps 20 girls, and mamasans handling transactions. Rooms are upstairs. Before the pandemic there were some problems with police raids in this area. The police would go into one of the bars, lock the doors and search everybody for drugs before letting them out. Don't know whether this is a risk now. I went there with a well to do local acquaintance, and he was frightened to go there. Thought it could be dangerous. But he was afraid of the locals, not the police. I still had a great time there. Price is same as Classic and Travel, 400 000 rupiah per hour. However, the rooms and showers are a good bit rougher. At Classic, Travel, Malioboro they are always spotless.

In return, my local acquaintance took me to his kind of place. Further south. Called Zen. No obvious entrance. Go to the back of an office block, up a staircase and suddenly you are in this club. He said much, much better, but more expensive. It was more expensive, but not better. About 40 girls on offer. Three categories: 3 million, 4 million and 5 million, per girl per hour. They were more pale-skinned, wore lots of heavy "Western"-style clothes, makeup caked on their faces, taller, much chunkier (big square hips). Waste of money as far as I am concerned.

Day 3.

I was pressed for time so I just dropped by Classic for a quickie. Nothing to write home about.

Day 4.

Moved on to Travel Hotel. It was as it always has been, but with fewer girls and more chubby girls. It does have one big advantage now though, and that is that it stays open to 2 am. As usual they were pushing their threesomes. One girl is 375 000 or something like that for an hour (ends up being 400 000 when they press you for a tip). Two girls is just 500 000 (35 USD! However, it is never worth it. Better to go for just one girl at a time and hope and work for good chemistry.

The lady in the reception was also encouraging me to go up to somewhere on the second floor for a massage. I think she said 300 000 Rupiah for two hours (no sex). It sounded tempting, if only I had had more time and didn't need feel obliged to satisfy the sexual needs of so many young maidens.

In the late evening it is eerily quiet. Most restaurants close at 8 or 9 pm, even those that were previously open 24/7. By 11 pm most of the city is dead. Classic, Malio, and Travel are all operating at ca 40% of regular capacity.

And there are so many chubby girls, not to mention guys. I don't know whether the pandemic exacerbated it, but to me it seems Indonesia is headed for a big wave of obesity.

I was in Jakarta during the Covid and was just too damn busy to report about it. Generally speaking, most of the the punting locations that survived the pandemic were open. I spent most of my time at KI and be-Fashion where the massage area is covertly open again. Tinder was a a failure for me, and that's where I'll spend this post talking about punting fails.

I have my Tinder filter set to 18 to 22 and I purposefully fucked up my search this way. As an older guy, I'm pretty sure I was just going to get flakes, ho's, or just total messes swiping right with me, and I wasn't wrong. If you've heard stories of success and massive amounts of cheap if not free sex found on Tinder, I'm pretty sure the person was filtering 28 to 40 year old. Under the 18 to 22 category, I ended up getting hits where the young ladies are asking for 3 M for ST. After over 30 matches, I ended up connecting with 2. Those are shitty odds!

I have been busted off Tinder on four occasions by now, I have no idea why, perhaps because I post my WA number in my profile or I use a candid picture of a not especially famous or handsome UK sports personality in his 50's as my pic and maybe someone reverse searches it, I don't know, not a big deal.

I find it's a great source of semi-pro girls, students, office girls, bored housewives and the like. I generally skip the ones who post pics of themselves in fabulous bars in Bali or on expensive trips overseas, they are going to have high-falutin' ideas about themselves, I also swipe left on the very beautiful model types, as I know they won't be low-balling their opening bids. Set the age range at 18-30, ignore anyone whose greeting is "Hello, where you stay apartemen or hotel?" and engage in conversation with those you do match and you'll do just fine (jilbab wearers, who aren't trying to sell trading schemes, are a great source of untapped potential). Not five-star catwalk models or A-list sinetron artis, but a lot of nice, easy-going young women happy to earn a bit of pin money (600-800 k) meeting a decent guy for a bit of discreet fun in the afternoon. And I know you don't believe it but yes, there are genuinely nice girls just looking for a good old-fashioned ride with some guy who won't come back and cause them problems later and who are happy enough to engage for free.

The OP asked for fails, oh there are plenty of them but they make the successes all the better. I remember one "girl", with great pics and a nice patter who agreed to meet me at my hotel. I got the message and went down to the lobby, holy sheet, there stood the ugliest bencong I ever clapped eyes on, looking at me expectantly as if I was going to say "well you're not what I expected but you're a pleasant surprise, let's pop in the lift and get on with it". Another weird aspect of Tinder is discovering how many women, mostly single, well-educated and in their mid to late 20's, are into seriously rough sex. I don't mean a bit of light spanking, I mean full-on, serious whipping, bondage, gagging and humiliation. I finally drew the line at one woman, a senior tech services officer at a major bank, who wanted me to, ah you know what, there's no need for me to tell you. But I do sometimes wonder whether plain vanilla sex is somehow losing its attraction, I blame all that porn they are watching on their phones at night in their kos-kosans.

Anyway, later this week I expect to finally close a deal I have been working on for some weeks. A marketing consultant with a Korean electronics company, 28 years old, divorced, no kids, wears the headscarf. I have been sweet-talking her for a while and she finally conceded that it has been a long time since she had a good seeing-to and yes, other than some bloke in Kazakhstan she has been chatting to online, I am her best offer. Cucumber. Thanks you for the post. But why did you apply for business visa? Why not just take the tourist visa so there is no big hassle? I am curious, because I am planning to come Jakarta in a few weeks from UK and while I have some work meetings, I will just apply tourist so avoid taxes and the fees.

I got to Jakarta. The business visa process is expensive (6-700 USD for the express (five working day) service) and really cumbersome). Lots of documentation and forms are required. One has to download an app. Etc, etc. I was stuck three hours at the airport going through their extremely strangely organized system. Then taken by a dedicated driver to my pre-booked quarantine hotel. I reached the hotel at about 9 pm and was released again at 1130 am next morning. I would have needed that time to sleep off the flight anyway. So the quarantine is not a problem now, however the visa is a pain in the neck.

Today I went to Classic Hotel. Only the second floor is open. I got there at 10 pm and it was too late. There was a huge crowd, guys outnumbered women, dense smoke and a loud local rock band. I ended up getting cajoled into taking two chubby girls (which I generally I am not a big fan of). Ok service but nothing great. I guess I am out of practice when it comes to selection and negotiations. And I was too impatient. On the other hand, three different women hit on me as I was leaving after closing. In the many times I have been to Classic, I have never been able to pick up a girl on the outside after closure when they all flood out to go home. I look forward to further exploration..
