Just got back from a quick 4 day visit to Jakarta. Still think Classic is a great option.

Day 1- visited Kotah Indah komplex. Tried New Sariyu, where the ladies sit in a group in dim light and mama calls them over for a lineup, or tries to guess what youd like. You can reject or request as you see fit. Cost 400 k, plus tip. I took olli, overall average looks, average personality but nice figure. CFS,* and 150 k tip was accepted with a smile. If you are looking for a cheaper Hotel, there is a IBIS right next to the Grand Mercure. You will save 50% or more versus the Grand Mercure.

Kelapa gading hotels allows all taxi's. Don't waste you money on Bluebird. Download Gojek, the Indonesian uber. It is cheaper, safer and faster. Never have to wait more then 5 minutes for a pick up. Every hotel allows it. If not, they would not be able to recognise is. Just say a friend will pick you up. The app even has integrated translation to English now so you can chat with the driver.
