OK, has anyone else here recently entered Indonesia? Entry requirements state I need to have minimum US $100,000 international health insurance. Do they really check for this at the airport?

By all reports Wisma Atlet, the place they send the Indonesian arrivals with no money for quarantine is super social. OS had video call with one of his friends who deliberately chose there and they were all sitting around socialising having a fat old time.

You can sneak out of quarantine, OS has done it but you need good contacts and the guard on your floor is not that person. Trust me. And its expensive.

I was thinking that maybe I should just pretend that I was broke like a joke so I can go to wisma athlete for free. But when I found out that not everyone can qualified for that (only students, official and migrant worker only) I don't think it's worth to try, especially when you came from the Land of Opportunity.

Yes you pay before going to the room.

Been so long since I was in terminal I don't remember. Usually in Jakarta you get a wrist band or card with a number and pay the grand total on your way out.

There are usually ways around paying up front even if they claim that's how it is.

This isn't Qantas Air; you're dealing with pimps and mamasans.

It is also possible to turn back before anyone does anything and get money back.

For example if a woman promises a BJ but won't do it, it's quite possible to stop things there and go back.

But better just to learn to question up front and avoid any dramas.

It's my understanding that you MUST have a visa to enter Indonesia right now. Either tourist or work. No VOA.

And proof of medical insurance (US $100,000), I am looking for that right now.

Yes, sitting in a damn hotel for 7 days will suck. Even more so, to pay for overpriced, crappy hotel food..

I got quoted for a visa 5.5 m IDR which I think is just ridiculous. You can get 7 days quarantine hotel airport transfer all tests and have change left for that. Does any one know a cheap place or is it only possible to get ripped off real bad.

I think that's the average price to get the "business" visaright now. One of my relative pay 5 mil for the same visa on last Nov. I heard there are some place that offered like 4 mil but you need to do your homework though. Remember, it still Indo when scam and fraud are everywhere.
