Coincidentally I saw a chart on Facebook this morning with tourist stats for this year. IIRC I think it was 23 million to Thailand, not to Bangkok itself. Yes a large portion likely to Bangkok though. I think it was 6 million to Indonesia and yes most of those likely to Bali. I agree no one goes to Jakarta. Place is a dump with terrible traffic and an extra 3.5 hour plane ride no one wants to take from Thailand.

Truth is, many mongers in our hobby knows about Jakarta. So there is really no secrets for mongers.

It's more about comfort zone and habits more than anything else.

For most mongers, if they are use to a place and are repeat regulars, they often have an establish routine and built up Rolodex of girls. So why spend money on something uncertain when they already know what to expect. Some mongers are lucky as they live somewhat closer to Asia in general and can get much cheaper airfares to explore more places. There are several levels to Classic.

As you walk into the place, the ground floor entrance leads to a disco. For the sex club you need to get in the lift and go up to the second floor, there's a large room called Terminal, the massage / steam / sauna is on a separate floor. The sex rooms are separate.

Changed 100 USD just to get going, stepped outside and hopped into a Bluebird. Meter rate to Holiday Inn about 130 K.

Hotel: Holiday Inn Gajah Meda. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. 5 star luxury at 3 star price. $45/ night including a nice breakfast. Large, clean quiet rooms, great service. Perfect location 10 min from Classic / Travel / Kota Indah. About 25 K for a grab car to any of those hot spots.

The Venues: Classic and Travel have similar set ups, large bars, live band, hundreds of girls. The quality of the girls blew me away. Better than Thailand for me because no plastic and very few tats. All natural look. And I don't believe there was a single girl over 25 in any of the bars we went to. Hardly any foreigners, mostly local crowd. Downsides were very loud music and lots of smoke.
