I have to defend the bluebird drivers, those guys are trustworthy. I take 2 or 3 taxis every day and have done that for many years in Jakarta. Those taxi drivers are the most honest drivers I have found anywhere in the world.

One was with our mutual friend who said to the Bluebird driver "Are you sure you work for Bluebird?" as he took the scenic route thinking we didn't know how to get to our destination. The other incident was with a driver who for some reason purposely drove up a street near National Monument after I told him there was heavy traffic according to Google Maps. We sat in traffic over 30 minutes. He would have made more taking the much longer route I had proposed to take. It's not about the money since taxis in Jakarta are cheaper than anywhere in the world. I get upset that they are wasting my time. My other Bluebird incident was with the Harris Vertu Harmoni Bluebird drivers who all refused to take me to New Medika at around 6 pm because of heavy traffic. The taxi guy then allowed me to hop in to another Bluebird taxi who was dropping off customers. It took that driver over 1 hour to get to New Medika but I tipped him over 100k which he was ecstatic to receive. He was a great guy.

You aren't missing much conversation with Nanda. I spoke Bahasa with her the one time I took her upstairs. She has the intelligence of a 5 year old and can't hold much of a conversation. She can rim a good ass though. No need for much conversation when her tongue is in your ass.

4. Blok M. Have enjoyed so much debauchery in Pattaya and Bangkok, (and many years in Brasil). Read a little about D's Place where they used to have semi private room where you can get a BJ (maybe more). Reported to be the only BJ bar in Jakarta. Any comments on D'S Place or other Blok M bars? So many reports of how much it has declined, but need to see for myself.

D's Place has a VIP room in the back. You can take pretty much any girl who works there into that room and do what you want. You can get a BBBJ, BBFS, or just a nude dance show if you want. If you see a girl you like who works there that you like, just ask her if she wants to go to the VIP room with you. They definitely want that! Even if they are sitting with another guy, I will walk up to them and ask them if they are interested in going to the VI P room with me. They are often sitting with a guy who isn't going to take them to the VIP room so they will gladly leave him. And most times they are seated with a guy who goes there almost every night so he knows the game and won't get angry. She can return to him after you fuck her in the back room.

That back room used to be completely crazy where it was just one open room. You could see other guys barebacking girls and others getting BBBJ right there in front of you. Shy guys would tip another girl 50 k to stand in front of them to block the view. LOL. Now they have added some partitions for some privacy, but it's still not completely closed off.

The girls there are not as hot and young as the brothels up north, but it's a more relaxed and free ambience. You can enjoy a beer at D's place.

One important travel note that isn't mentioned often enough for tourists is to ALWAYS try taking a Bluebird taxi when one is available. They will use meters and not try charging you extra on a set rate. Make sure they are aware you are using Google maps or know the direction they are driving because even Bluebird taxis have bad drivers who try to take the long route or get you stuck in traffic to make more money.

I actually prefer that they take those long routes because they are most often the fastest way to get to where you want to go. Most times I actually demand that they do take those long routes because sometimes they are too timid to take them, they are scared I might get mad at them for taking the quicker long route rather than the slower direct route sitting in traffic. I prefer to avoid the traffic and get there sooner rather than save some trivial amount of money. The reason I do not take Uber or Grab car is they use a GPS and stick by that route, they will argue with me when I tell them to take the shortcut (mainly because they are not clever enough to know those shortcuts). Pretty much without fail, the GPS suggested route is not the fastest route. I don't have that problem with a taxi arguing with me over the route, they will take whichever route I want. I had a taxi about a month ago who took me from Mangga Dua to Kuningan in a half hour at rush hour (that would normally take over an hour). The guy was a friggin genius. He took the long route without a doubt going down the weirdest side streets that I didn't even know. He did ask me if I was ok with him taking that route before he took it. I wish I could remember those side streets because I would love to go that way again in the future, but it was fairly complicated.

The non blue bird taxis will many times not use a meter, but if you notice, they also take the "long" route even though you have already paid them a fixed price.

I wouldn't worry too much about using google maps with the taxis.

Just think of Soi 6 in Pattaya on how all the places I mentioned below work. If you are used to Soi 6 then no worries about comments about places not being clean. In regard to fashion, most if not all men go out wearing long pants and a golf or casual dress shirt.

No need to stay in your room til 9 pm to avoid traffic. Just head out somewhere like Classic or Travel at 4 pm or Sumo Spa at Kelapa Gading at 3 pm. I prefer my girls fresh at the front end of their shifts. Traffic around your hotel isn't awful (you've been to Bangkok you've seen worse) but it is congested around National Monument. Many girls in Jakarta are from areas known for having nice tits. They are not hard to find. However, you are right in saying that they often come with bigger framed bodies. The exceptions can be stunning!!

Bahasa is a very easy language to learn. Essentially it has no gender or tenses to worry about and the letters are only ever pronounced one way. Learning a few words is always very well received with the girls and general society. Having said that, if you are only there for a couple of days or weeks I would just concentrate on the polite terms like please, thank you, where is, how much etc. It sounds corny but being able to compliment is also very well received. "You're very pretty" for example.

For limited time spas and FL bars are point and shoot. Malls are an option but be very weary of insulting the wrong person.

Indonesia is one of the larger drug markets in the world and is a real problem in some areas. That's why punishments can be very severe. A significant number of working girls partake in some form. My advice is to stay well clear of anything to do with it.

Smoothy is the best to comment on BlokM and various establishments. My view is that BlokM is well past it's prime but many still have a good time there.

Cash can be changed easily in the expat areas but I just use my debit card in the many ATMs scattered around. I wouldn't recommend having a lot of cash in your room or in your pockets.

In call is readily available online or often from your hotels in room massage. Bait and switch is an issue with agencies and private providers select the most flattering photos. Use video or questioning to determine what you are really getting.

You're in for a huge disappointment if you are led to believe that Blok M is anything close to Pattaya. For a 3 day trip Blok M is a huge pass. So many better areas in Jakarta than Blok M. Kota Indah (Grand LA, Royal, MTR, New Sari Ayu, Starmoon, etc) and Kelapa Gading (King's Cross, Sumo Spa, MTR, and a bunch more) are the 2 areas I would go to with the 3rd day at Malio just to see it. Before hitting these 3 areas you can go to Travel or Classic at around 5 pm each day.

Not sure what you mean by BJ bars for all that I have named you can get a BJ only instead of FS if that is your desire. Clarify with the mamasan or girl first since some Indo girls aren't huge fans of BJs.

Many other places and areas not talked about much on ISG like Ruko Robinson, Berlian / Katinka, Emporium, New Medika and many spas in West Jakarta, 1001, Kimochi spas, etc. All worth a look but certainly not on a 3 day trip. Bear in mind Jakarta traffic can be bad in rush hour. So bad that taxi drivers will refuse driving out to West Jakarta during rush hour.

AFAIK ATM's only allow a maximum of 3 million rupiah per transaction. Some less so check the machine. This may be fine for a 3 night stay but a PITA if you are staying for weeks and having to pay international transaction fees every couple of days.

I do tip the girls at the massage places (where you can't see the girls, just pick numbers )at times who work the front desk and suggest good numbers for me. I tell them if they give me a really good girl, I will give them a 50k tip. It doesn't always work, but many times it does. Each time I return to Jakarta I tell myself I won't bother visiting Kartika massage as it's it getting old and tired and the woman are mostly overweight, old and unattractive. I visited Classic Terminal 2 on a Thursday at around 4. 30 pm No entry fee although I saw the ladies at the entrance / reception change a fee to the three Chinese men who were in front of me. I was not allowed to take my bottle of water. I was given a wrist band.

Inside, there were five mamasans but three groups of girls wearing green, red and grey dress. There were a total of around twenty girls. One mamasan wanted to offer me a green dressed girl. (1) I am puzzled about the role of these Mamasans. In other words, we can (and do) select our own girls. It is our choice, not the Mamasans.
Why have them in the first place? For those familiar with Thermae in Bangkok, there are NO Mamasans, and it works great.

(2) Just curious, how the Mamasan is compensated? Do they earn a fixed % from what the girl earns?
If they earn a commission from the girls earnings, then it explains their aggression.

It is not a good idea to tip the mama's. Unless they are providing you with some kind of value. Constantly pestering you with girls is not providing any value and a sharp "Itu saya yang pilih, bukan kamu" "It is me that chooses, not you" will slow them down but some can be persistent. Once they know you they will be better but if you are new they will try it on.

The mamas get a portion of the fee. Of the cost of a girl at Classic, she would get 150 000, the Mama not sure but think 10 or 20,000, it isn't that much. 50 000 is at the lower end of the scale as far as tips go to the girls but if it is CBJ then they really can't be expecting much more.

A good mama can look after you, but it takes a while for them to know you. The only other thing OS will not stand is the mamas forcing a girl who clearly does not want to session with you to do so.
