Although I've been living in Singapore over 4 years, I have never made the trip to Jakarta, because I always default to Philippines and Thailand which are more familiar to me. Anyway, decided to take the plunge for a short 3 night exploratory stay in Jakarta at the end of this month. Question I had was hotel location. I see the Grand Mercure Harmoni is the closest to the action but I have points on Marriott and get a free 3 nights at much better hotels (Westin, LE Meridien, JW Marriott) etc. If I stay in one of those its a 40 min cab ride to Classic or Travel. But closer to BATS, CJ; s etc. Does it make sense to stay in South Jakarta and take a daily ride to Classic in the afternoon, and then maybe the FL clubs in the South at night? Is the South a nicer area to stay in terms of dining options etc? How about massage shops (legit and naughty) in either area?

The Mercure Harmoni is a fine 4 star hotel in close proximity to Malio & Classic. You can't go wrong staying at this hotel for a short duration trip. But that said, I prefer to stay at various 5 star hotels in the Golden Triangle in the south. I have both the Marriott and Hyatt CC's, so staying on points and free voucher nights at these hotels is the best deal in town.

So, for Mariott members, let me recommend the The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan over the Marriott. It is a much nicer hotel for approximately the same number of points. I also like the Grand Hyatt. What you get on top of great accommodations at these 5 stars is a great garden / pool area to relax and unwind in the afternoon before hitting the bordellos and a great breakfast buffet to start out the day.

The Grand Hyatt is located almost halfway in between Malio and Cj's and is situated on top of the most luxurious shopping mall in Jakarta. It takes an extra 10 minutes to taxi from The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan or the Marriott to travel north to the bordellos, for example, but it takes less time to taxi to CJ's. And travel time from the Grand Hyatt to Malio is approximately 20 minutes at 8:30 pm, so staying in the south is not a problem as far as the bordellos are concerned and travelling from Malio or anywhere in the north to CJ's around midnight is not a problem either.

This report is from a short visit in May. Stayed in South Jakarta for a few nights so tried a few of the spas recommended on the forum.

Went to the'Heaven on a Friday night around 8 pm. Girls are shown on a phone, guess you could scout out a bit on their IG first. It was quite busy that night so only had like 5 girls available and only 1 was for FS the rest BJ only. I tended to buy from the smaller Apotek, tending to stay clear of the big chain pharmacy's who have occasionally knocked me back. Basically do a google search for Apotek where you are staying and you'll find a multiple of small independent shops. Didn; t get any the last trip as I had stocked up in KL last month.

It's weird, but the older we get, the more picky and blase we become. This is counter-intuitive, I mean the older and saggier we become we should be ever more grateful for any morsel that lands near our plate. Maybe we're just spoiled by Jakarta, I don't know.

OS is at home with lady OS when a middle aged aquaintance of hers comes to visit for the specific purpose of requesting whether we can find her a bule. Yes, the price is comparable between Classic and Travel. However, the primary difference is:

Travel is much smaller than Classic. In Classic you have a choice of two different floors.
In Travel you only have one floor. The number of girls in Travel is adequate. But the choice is less when compared to Classic.

I was three times on second floor. A bar, a lot of girls, few crazy nice. But I need one, it was always right.

I leave a short report of my stay in Jakarta.

Classic.

Fabulous. Around 365 k (24 euro) euro for 1 hour with a girl. Most of them are beautiful in body but so-so (not ugly) in face.

On the first day however I found a gorgeous 19 year old (so she claimed, if she has a few years more not many). Kind, helpful and always smiling. We had a good time (at least I did, and she seemed to).

Second day, her again. 2 hours for 730 k (48 euros) euros plus tip 100 k (6 euros).

Fifth day, I don't find anyone who attracts me. I have a drink before going out, another round, and a wonder. First time doing it for work. Scared at first, but then everything was fine.

Clean rooms.

Travel.

Noisy disco. But there's an OK little bar behind it. Found a nice one, which I didn't like that much. But everything is subjective. 1 hour.

In this area there are many karaoches where there is no singing, of course. Full of beautiful girls. I visit many of them. Jakarta, in my opinion a nice GT destination. High quality at an excellent price.

For the rest, however, the city largely sucks (no pavements, very hot, ugly, lots of women wearing headscarves, often unpleasant people).
