I booked non-refundable trip Mar 21-26 without realizing it coincides with Ramadan (Mar 10 - Apr 9) and seeking suggestions where and how to make the most of my trip during this time without it being an utter flop. Is there a complete shutdown of bars, clubs, massage parlors throughout the entire period or if it's only for a few days at the start and end of Ramadan. What about Classic, Travel, and establishments in and around Blok M and other areas?

I'm in the same boat and would like to know. I've RTFF and I've come to the conclusion that while there will be less girls (like 50% less), that leaves plenty enough to have fun. Another poster said the tail end of Ramadan is when things shutdown.

I AM NOT a CJ's or BATS guy. 1. I don't do LT. I'd rather sleep. 2. too expensive. 3. girls are much older and serious pros 4. After a few girls during the day at other bars I'm too exhausted by midnight to travel to South Jakarta.

Perhaps it is an attempt to extort more money from the foreigner or here they write things based more on imagination than reality. Where is the truth?

At the risk of being called a "Blabber" by OS, here's a quick summary of my very short 2 week stay in Jakarta.

Classic. Over 10 visits. Some nights just mind blowing and other nights were AAB. Really luck of the draw but Sundays and Mondays seemed slow. Changes I didn't like. Girls no longer wear matching sexy dresses and just wear whatever random clothes they had that was washed. Met some great beautiful girls. BBFS is available if you don't push for it. Someone posted you can get BBFS from any girl if you tip 100 k at Classic. This is so not true from my experience. I don't even go for BBFS often but wanted to test this theory. I even offered imo the hottest girl there 200 k then 500 k since she asked me how much I would pay for BBFS and she looked insulted at my offers.

Travel. Around 6 visits. Overall the talent is much lower than Classic but there are certainly gems there if you hang around long enough or go often enough. One of the prettiest young busty girls this trip was Puspa. Around 5'0". Sex and BBBJ were good but refused to even DFK so no repeat. No BBFS offers. I just find mileage lower here with less pretty girls. I usually don't let the mamas bother me in these places and get along with almost all of them but that 150 year old witch they have at Travel who kept touching me really irked me to the point I had to tell her off. You've seen me at your club well over 100 times stop bothering me!

Kelapa Gading. Place is like a morgue. Girls not as pretty as Classic or Travel. BBFS available just like all bars a bit further away. I was offered BBFS by my KC girl and didn't even want it. Maybe it's different on a weekend night at 9 pm but I have better places to be at those hours. No taxis available during daylight hours and unable to secure a Grab.

New Medika. I'd only return if I needed to go to Mal Ciputra. On the good side traffic didn't seem nearly as bad to / from West Jakarta as it used to be. Lots of girls none too appealing. Service was bad by my girl. Used to be bad with my regular there too but I didn't care cause she was so damn hot. Maybe someone here can let us know if good service can be had at NM.

Kota Indah. Around 8 visits. The first couple of nights I went it was awful. Then it got better and better. The best of the bunch was New Sari Ayu. Royal, MTR, Grand LA (Larys Ayu) were all the same. Starmoon severely lacking. No customers at all every time I walked in. Some posters seemed to think this area is unsafe. I've never had a safety concern here. The Blabber calls it like it is. We know we only go there because BBFS is the norm. Not getting BBFS and good service is just unlucky.

Malio. Didn't go even though I literally stayed across the street. I can no longer walk there from Harris Vertu due to construction and a grab took longer to loop around than it took to get to Travel and Classic. Anyone know when that damn subway is going to end? Been like 6 or 7 years already.

I think Amex would be a struggle most places in Asia, legitimate or not. Certainly the smaller or remote knockshops.

I don't even bring my Amex to Asia any more. It is accepted at HIGH END shops in malls and nice hotel restaurants but others are correct it's not widely accepted.

When you walk out of KC, look left, the dark street. Walk to the street and look right. Cross the street where there's an opening at the median. There's usually one Bluebird parked there, maybe two. Are those Bluebirds gone now? That was your only hope to find a taxi without pulling one up on My Bluebird or walking a million miles to the mall.

I am aware where the taxis are supposed to be in KG. However, it was early in the day (6 or 7 pm?) and pouring rain so there were none there nor any Grab availability. It may be completely different at 9 or 10 pm when I'm sure KG is hopping.

Grab is a mess when it rains in Jakarta, not unlike Bolt in Pattaya.

I need to refresh my 30 days in LOS so I figured I'd fly to Jakarta and hit up the fish bowl joints. And Travel Hotel. It was only today that I randomly thought of Ramadan and I remember it being in the Spring, so I looked it up and saw it starts March 10th! I'll be there 8-13th. I already know to load up on enough beer on the 8th and 9th at the super market, but does anyone know if the places in Kota and Pen. J are going to be open?

I typically go there for sex and then I'll go to Blok M to shoot the shit over a few beers. Will the Blok M bars also be open?

You've got the wrong dates. Idul Fitri is April 9-10. Those places of interest mentioned will likely be closed April 6-14. Give or take a day or two.

March 8-13 you'll be fine.
