These points are from my personal point of view


1. I found shopping cheaper in Lokasari Plaza than in Managa dua.
2. Bargain and start with 60% of the price quoted.
3. Hotel thru local tour operator can give you cheaper rates than the Hotel directly or thru overseas tour operators.
4. Don't worry about blocked sites. UAE has blocked sites past so many year, yet Dubai forum is active as Indo forum.

You should know better than to recommend this place or even post about it. It's an illegal underground gambling den for locals indonesians and things can get ugly there. There are often huge brawls between different indonesian tribes.

I wrote two or three reports on this area in Sept. 2007, as I visited four of the places there that were open during the daytime during the fasting month of Ramadan. I also posted a photo of the bridge that I walked on over the creek/open sewer to get to these places.

This is definitely the lower end of the mongering spectrum and is not for the faint of heart, but it is worth the effort for anyone who is adventurous (and it definitely helps to speak some bahasa Indonesian). I found a couple of decent girls here.

With recent passage of internet porn law, I would not be surprised to see this site blocked by the Indonesian authorities soon. Those resident in Indonesia might do well to have a look at the thread on proxy servers in this forum, including a useful post by Asian Rain.

I feel that the above post is very important, so I've copied it from the "General Info" section of ISG.

There's a link to "Anonymous Proxy Servers" right on the home page of ISG. Although I've probably visited the ISG web site (and its predecessor WSG.org) over 3,000 times since the late 1990s, I don't ever recall seeing that link before today, but that's probably because I was not looking for it before.

And as a resident of Indonesia for over 2 years now, I have to agree with MrBill1963 - there are far more important things than pornography for the Indonesian government to worry about, such as improving the crappy education system, the even worse health care system, corruption, pollution, deforestation, flooding, traffic jams, the 30 per cent unemployment rate, the rising price of staple items such as rice, cooking oil, kerosene, etc....the list goes on and on.

However, there's a general election next year, so politics comes first. Sad.

I wonder if you can use some sort of portal like they do in parts of the Middle East and China, if they do block it?

My thoughts exactly, it seems if you use an anonymous proxy server from outside Indonesia that its almost impossible for them to block whatever this proxy server dishes you you. This becomes a cat and mouse game as if they block the IP address for the proxy server you need to keep switching. It's a waste of time for the government to waste resources on such things when there are so many useful things they could do to improve the country.

I wouldn't consider this site pornographic but some of the government zealots might. So the million dollar question is will this site hit the blocked list?

Or does anyone think the Indonesian government is actually capable of getting their act together and doing this? If they spent as much effort on repairing the roads, tackling KKN and other more meaningful things this place would actually improve.

They seem to have started already. All the indo sites in bahasa I know of that had pictures of indo girls have already either been blocked or shifted their format to not include any pictures or discussions about sex now. This has just happened in the past few days. I was wondering what was going on. I guess that explains it.

Pornography is covered under 2 bills. The one the government just approved actually governs electronic transaction. The other bill is Rencana Undang Undang Anti Pornografi dan Pornoaksi.

Most of the photos found in this site are considered porn. Pornography is defined as still and moving pictures. Animation, graphic, painting and text are considered product of imagination.

One of the local boards has already removed adult content in an effort to prevent blocking. Kind of silly; what's the point of an adult site with no useful information? Anyway, if you read the reports on proxy servers, it is clear that various countries already block this site. I expect the government of Indonesia to try, and since it really isn't that difficult, they will probably succeed. However, it ought not to be that hard to get around the blockage using tips in the proxy server reports.

Can't agree with you more, and it only effect people in Indonesia not us overseas. Unless you are in Indo?

When with my local friends to have dinner in Kelapa Gading. After dinner both of us decided to go to MTR2.

Once we enter the door was greeted with very loud music. The light was also quite dim thus cannot see very well and could not discuss as cannot hear each other.

The mamasans and papasans swam us with a few girls each.
