Have been read the forums for a while and enjoyed the posts, would like to add my 2cents worth. Do not get much of a chance to go off mongering, since married here in Bali.

Stayed at the Intercontinental mid plaza, as it was close to the conference.
Rooms facilities excellent and of course like all hotels very girl friendly.

at 10 PM Finally got a chance to go out with the driver and carefully we explained to him what we were after a bar with lots of friendly cweks close to the hotel.

For some reason we ended up in Jakarta Kota and visited a number of places all which were very quiet (tuesday night), One that we visited was called the Executives Club which has a karaoke lounge on the 3rd floor and cost RP100,000 for entry. Is very much Chinese run by the way it was organized, sit down and they parade a choice of young girls past you which is not really what we after. Left, asked the driver if the Shangri-la was close to our hotel and of course it was.

Went in to the BATS lounge at around 12:30 and was packed with ceweks. Majority of them very cute, managed to find a table and with minutes had a group of ceweks look our way of which one asked if we intersted and promptly send her friends across.

Spend an hour chatting and asking if they were interested in coming back to the hotel.

I finshed up with a cewek called Elle,

Sorry to read that the taxi driver drove you up to Kota, as you yourself noted the Shangri-La is practically walking distance from the Intercontinental Mid-Plaza. You are also near-walking distance to Tiga Puluh club in the Hotel Le Meridien. I wonder if the taxi driver got a small kickback from the Executive Club for bringing you there?

One friendly comment - if Elle is 5'6" in height, then she is not short, that's pretty tall for an Indonesian female, most girls here hover between 4'11" and 5'2". Of course she may have been close to 5'6" with her heels on
