Posts: 93Just so you know about Indo's HIV infection rates
A few years ago when I first moved to Indonesia I worked on a Bugis pinisi as divemaster.
To get to the boat's home port, Bira in South Sulawesi, I had to transit Makassar fairly frequently.
I met an Australian nurse there who was doing a study on HIV infection among the port city's many prostitutes, a joint World Health Organisation/Indonesian Government initiative.
Her results over a 12 month period showed that over 60% of working girls they managed to test were either HIV positive or had full blown AIDS.
The results were suppressed by the Indonesian government on the grounds that they would result in "unnecessary public worry."
Subsequently, in Bali, I've been involved with a group that supports young Indonesian heroin addicts to get clean.
Over 90% of them are HIV positive, both men and women.
A recent study here in Bali concluded that 10% of prostitutes were HIV positive, a figure widely regarded as very much on the low side.
This may not be news to those who've lived here for a while and either take the risk or take precautions, but visitors who think that somehow the HIV thing is less of a problem than anywhere else should take note.

Its in Gedung Patra Jasa. If you go through some of my old posts you will find quite a few reports from there. The reason I stopped going there is also mentioned in my report. To repeat it again, one of the girls was HIV positive and died of AIDS. this was shocking to me and from then on I stopped venturing out there.

It's on Gatot Sabroto. When you pass Planet Hollywood, it's not too much further down on the left. I forget the name of the building it's in, but it normally has many taxis waiting by the road.

Mulia is far better than Melia for fun. Melia does not have a decent pick up night spot like Mulia has. However, it's not far from action. You will be right around the corner from Park Lane hotel which has Stix bar. You are also close to Delta massage at Gatot sabroto and Fortune massage on Casablanca. You can get to any of the 5 star hotel discos or Blok M or even Mangga Besar very quickly from the Melia since it's centrally located. If you have a choice though, go with the Mulia - not Melia. The Mulia is a nicer hotel in every way.

In fact the last time I went there just to check it out, I saw a stunner who unfortunately didn't show any particular interest in me ... I have learnt to stay away from broads who don't look at you in a welcoming way ...
It may be worth a look if you can spare the time.

Hi I will be going to Jakarta next week.
Would like some advise on hotel Grand Melia, is it close to all the actions?
Does it has any pick-up bar attached ?
Since my business associate has booked Grand Melia, or else i would have asked him to go for Mulia hotel (and CJ) since I really had a good time the last time there.

Posts: 1Police Sweep In Jakarta? Any Info Would Be Great.
I was feeling horny today, and decided to check out this one Cat-house across GAJAMADA mall. The onlookers told me that all Cat-houses are being Sweeped? And business is closed for the time being. I was going to try Hotel Travel. But its probably close too. Any help would be great. Happy Mongering.

Chubby? Depends on how chubby they are. I liked Ety in Maribaya when she weighed 55 kgs. before Ramadan started, although others felt that she weighed too much. Now that she's put on at least 5 more kgs. from her Lebaran break and has a noticeable "spare tire" of fat around her middle, I'm less interested than before. However, I don't require that my girls be rail-thin.

I think Tom II picked the info here and there. Hotel Menteng II Three Hourse and Patra Jasa Delila are Arab pick-up bars. The same pick-up concept with Jl. Falatehan bars; but the crowd, the music, and the atmosphere are designed for the Arabs.
Most of the girls too chubby for my standard, I don't know for you.

I was going to reply to your earlier questions but JAD did a good job already. To re-emphasize a few points:
Hotel Mulia is an expensive 5-star hotel, for $35 you'll get dinner, not a room!
There are several well-known discos where foreigners are welcome, including three discos in 5-star hotels: CJ's in the Hotel Mulia (mentioned by Prof Designer below), Tiga Puluh in Le Meridien Hotel, and BATS at the Shangri-La Hotel (actually the latter is more of a bar than a disco). There's also the Red Square (mentioned by Prof Designer) and some other new discos. And you already seem to know of the infamous Stadium.
Nothing wrong with the PangJay MPs, however if you're only in Jakarta for a few days, then you'll keep busy at the discos, the Blok M bars, TC, some other MPs, etc. without ever needing to go to PangJay. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, there are at least seven other places within a few blocks of TC, and there are at least a dozen MPs (Super, Kartika, Berlian, etc.) within a few blocks of the Stadium. And the Stadium itself has an MP on the 3rd floor, and you can bring some of the girls on the 4th floor to rooms in the back on the the 5th floor.
Just curious, you wrote "I heard that Tigah Kudah discotheque (Three Horses) in Menteng II hotel has some stunners." Where on earth did you hear that?
In any case, one can find a few stunners almost everywhere, there are lots of stunning women in Jakarta, one can find at least one or two beautiful women even in the low-end MPs.
Enjoy your visit!
