Just to add to the points which Mighty Spearsman made - there is a lot said about "over paying" but I think it's particularly relevant in a case like this when 200USD probably went to the "agent"!

We can all kid ourselves we are getting something extra-special when we pay too much directly to a girl (many of us have done it!) but even the most self-deluded can't really do so when then there is an "agent" involved.

earlier today i headed up to the brothel on jl. bidara raya in grogol that i had posted about a few days ago.

walked over to the old chinese lady at the counter (she appeared to be at least 75 years old) and the lady gave us a towel and a room key (no payment at this point), and up the stairs we went.

the second floor landing was not that big, only a few doors, which turned out to be the “working rooms.” jenny told me later that she slept upstairs on the 3 rd floor every night.

the room was similar to the rooms in the first place, only real difference was that the bulb in the “timer” light in the ceiling was red, rather than the surreal greenish-yellow of the other place. the session itself was great, jenny is one of those girls who looks better with her clothes off, especially when she lays back on the bed and arches her back, and she definitely knew how to use the tongue stud! although her breasts were not that big, they are in proportion to the rest of her slender body. one of the more entertaining sessions i’ve had recently, and you can’t beat the 200,000 rupiah price.

I agree that there are few things more irritating than a new poster using his first two posts to ask the same question but there is something about this RTFF thing that bothers me. You see there are now literally hundreds of pages of information going back several years available here and whilst it is a gold mine of information the specific nuggets which one seeks can be hard to come by.

The search function I find to be very poor, or perhaps I am using it incorrectly, let's say for instance you want to find information, as this guy did about Jalan Jaksa, well of course that information is going to be on the Jakarta thread but what you need is the specific dates or post numbers of the relevant posts, instaed when you type in "Jalan Jaksa" you will merely be directed to the Jakarta thread in its entirety with no idea where the information you seek is stored, certainly when you do find a mention it will be highlighted in red but heavens above you have to wade through a lot of pages to find them.

Smoothy has already answered your question about using the "Advanced Search" feature, so I won't repeat it.

You do make a good point about RTFF, yes there's lots of info to read here. However, if the average newbie scrolled back 5 or 6 pages and then read forward, chances are he'd find all the info he needs to get laid in this city. Especially now during Ramadan - just read Oyenk's listings!

The frustrating part of the story is that it probably would not have happened a few months ago. Unfortunately, thievery, robberies and similar petty crimes increase tremendously during the days before and during the fasting month of Ramadan.

It's a simple Harvard Business School case:

- most of the working girls in Jakarta are not from Jakarta but rather from someplace else, a town or village referred to as their "kampung." Most girls seem to come from Indramayu or Semarang, both in Java, as well as other parts of Indonesia.

- these girls are expected to travel home to their kampung to celebrate the "Eid" festival (also known as "Lebaran") at the end of Ramadan. The girls need to have enough cash to pay round-trip train or bus fare (200,000 rupiah, maybe 300,000 rupiah or more) and buy clothes and other presents for their families (including the girls' children), plus have some cash in their pocket to pay for food and some cash gifts as well, in total we're talking at least a couple million rupiah (over US $200) if not more. The expectation for gifts brings enormous pressures on these girls; they have to come home for the holiday, and they cannot show up empty-handed.

- on the other hand, the potential revenue earnings for these girls in Jakarta temporarily drops during this period, as many of the MPs and spas are closed for the entire month of Ramadan, and bar activity drops as many bars/discos/pick-up places have reduced operating hours for the month. And of course most of these girls have saved little if any cash during the last 11 months (since last year's Eid).

- the bottom line is obvious - the pressure to get money for Lebaran can force even the most (normally) honest girl to be tempted to steal! or beg or borrow, etc.

Of course, not all girls will steal; many will use their feminine charms to persuade their gentlemen friends (like me) to come visit them for a session at their MP/spa just before the spa closes for Ramadan, or at least to get a small cash donation. During the last 10 days, I received sms messages from at least 12 different girls, all asking me to stop by for a session, with the obvious hope of receiving a larger-than-normal tip from me.

Again, I'm truly sorry to read of your misfortune, and thanks for warning us and reminding us of what might happen.

I truly agree with Mighty. Ramadhan to these girls mean a lot of pressure to bring home money, presents, clothings and toys for the children. It is normal for these girls to ask or hint for a bigger than usual tips which most of us are willing to fork out and in return to this understanding, the girls give us their best! So it is quite a fair exchange!

When you want to search, click on "Advanced Search". Put in what you want to search for. And make sure in the bottom left hand part of the screen that you have checked "Show results as reports". The default is show results as threads and it will just find the jakarta thread. But if you click show results as reports, you will see each individual report on that topic.

I try to avoid Indonesia completely during Ramadan anymore. 7 years ago Ramadan wasn't much different from the other 11 months, with the exception of the occassional "ninja" raid on JJ's. But it seems that ever since Playboy magazine came to town and caused the "pornography" crack down, the city just isn't as fun anymore. Damn Playboy.

For them who came as visitor during ramadan, they can choose hotels around Mangga Besar - West Jakarta. Most population are Chinese people who are Buddhism and Christian. Most of them also work in hotel in that area. So do not afraid to eat during ramadan in that area (just be aware of it). Chinese people also provide pork in their restaurant. I mentioned 3 hotels that have good service and economics (around 25 USD for standart room) in thread info...please find it.

Other area I suggest to stay during ramadan are Kelapa Gading, Sunter and Pluit (North Jakarta). The majority population also chinese.

* I believe most spa/bordello which open during ramadan also in that area. For example: Classic (bro Mighty Spearsman mentioned), Travel, Malioboro and many others (see in my last updated fuckshops)
