The month of Ramadan (fasting month) for the Muslim is quite a low time for having fun in Jakarta. I was there 2 days into the said month for a business consultation and was informed by my assigned driver that the picking was slim but not impossible. Having been to Jakarta many times, I was not interested to pay for the higher end imported goods.

Resigning myself to a dull life for the duration of my stay in Jakarta, I decided to go and make for myself some new suits at Taman Anggrek on Wednesday (19 Sept). As it was around noon I decided to have some lunch (lamb leg soup) at the food court of the said place.

After ordering my meal I was looking for a place to seat (surprisingly it was quite pack) but to my dismay no empty table was available. I must have look desperate because a lady smiled at me and offered me a seat at her table. I gladly accepted. Introduced myself and she likewise and was surprised that she mentioned that she had seen me transacting some business at the bank where she worked. I told her that I was looking for a place to make some suits. She offered to introduce me to her tailor which is located in the same plaza. I enquired about her going back to work and she promptly picked-up her phone and call in sick.....

We finished lunch and headed to her tailor for some measurement. After everything she offered to drive me around town. Seeing an opportunity, I sent my driver home and got into her brand new Toyota Camry. We drove a while and I took the chance to tell her I need to go back to the hotel to change. She drove to the InterContinental and I invited her up. She accepted....

In the room, I took the initiative to touch her back and she turned round and gave me a full deep kiss. We were struggling to get out of our clothes and onto bed. We had a fast and hard first round. Rested. Found out that she was an Indonesian Chinese borned into a wealthy family. Educated in USA and recently broke up with her boyfriend of 6 years. I have found that Jakarta to be okay but depends how you. If you go around like everyone is out to sleep with you then you are going to get those money grabber, or nothing at all. If that is all you all looking for I know a few places to would fit your needs Hotel Malioboro and Alexis hotel for a start.

The bule look does not help, only the down and out of luck would go out with a bule[sorry] the social norm is that bule will take anything. Another thing is the Islam thing, just would not fit in.

Look in short if you want to buy there are alot places that will sell, but anything else is a bit hit and miss.
