Purely from a mongering perspective did you enjoy Bali better? I'm still unsure if I will get bored in Jakarta and better off in Bali as there seems a bit more to do during the day. If your mongering experiences in Bali were better I see little reason to stay in Jakarta more than a day or two.

Tbh my horniness took a huge nosedive in Bali, don't know if it was the heat, other things to do or just hormones, so I didn't explore as much as I could have. But all things considered, the options were significantly less in Bali, and require more investment of time, but there is potentially better quality, some seriously good, if you're willing to spend more, or a lot more. Most of these will be on tinder or badoo or Instagram.

A couple of days in Jakarta is enough to tick it off I reckon.

If returning I would probably focus more on the Tinder girls and on Classic at around 7 pm or so when the choice is better. I would also explore the likes of Malio where I didn't get a chance.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend a dedicated visit to Lokasari, if you're not staying for more than a week and don't want to bring a girl to your place. But if you're going to Travel anyway, you can as well start at Lokasari (ideally 18:00-21:00) and move on to Travel (7 minutes on foot) if you don't find anything you like. Particularly during Ramadan, as you got less choice at Travel / Classic.

Lokasari is a sort of mall. The old famous places like this western style disco, are closed since long. Other places there are KTV's. So --where exactly you pick up girls there? On the parking lot?

Jakarta is a city of few charms, and with little reason to visit other than the mongering. This is a little harsh and I'm sure there are many other cities worldwide in similar categories but I'm comparing with the likes of other cities I've visited in the region: the traffic is dreadful, there's little character, generic restaurants, bars etc.

Anyhow on the matter of mongering: I reported my "interesting" experience of tinder in an earlier report. To wrap things up I got an order in off Locanto which was a serious frustration- she bore no resemblance whatsoever to her photo- complete fake- even though I had asked if it was real and they had verified. I was clearly talking to an agent. Felt a little sorry for the lady herself who showed up but I was very annoyed at having been deceived. I think most of the ad's there are fake.

In the middle of my journey I tried Classic several times and Travel once. The latter was a let down on the night I was there, or I caved in too soon to the first number of girls the mamasan showed me. None of the girls were attractive and the one I chose was not a good performer.

Classic was a real hit and miss. On the first few occasions it was good but the last couple were as disappointing as Travel. There is a bar downstairs was better but I was put off by the seemingly random pricing by the mamasan ("600 k plus 200 k tips") so didn't explore further.

I tried Starmoon at 300 k and got nothing memorable but what do you expect at that price. There were a couple of spas here including sugar spa which I tried but once again I found the girls not very attractive. Either I have too high standards or I have been just unlucky with timings.

Running out of time I had choice of a couple of Tinder dates, who seemed appealing or the abovementioned Locanto who pressured me into opting for her- which is why I was so annoyed at the deception. Perhaps the Tinder ones would have been a great result. I won't know unless I go back.

Popped over to Lokasari yesterday evening. Liked the look of one and asked to see her KTP. She whipped it out of her purse with the smoothness of a seasoned FBI agent. We checked in at FF Hotel. It was downright the filthiest room I've ever seen. That includes the now demolished railway tracks. Unwashed linen, a blood stained pillow and one towel. There was so much bacteria in that room it made the ones living in her vagina smug with the relatively low population density.

Deed done. An experience nonetheless.

Mzungu posts random criticisms of others detailed and useful reports. I point out that he never seems to add any actual information himself. Gaijin agrees with me and both our posts are deleted. Meanwhile Mzungu's nonsense remains on the board. If this continues nobody will post anything useful on here anymore as trolls can attack with no repercussions while those calling the trolls out are silenced. Moderation should be limited to actual offensive content against the policy of the board. I don't see how my posts violated any actual policy. The definition of "pointless" is very subjective. There are a lot of tangential discussions happening all the time. I hope the mods take this seriously if you don't want actual experienced mongers and contributors to leave.

"Moderation" seems to have become completely random at this point. I never said anything that should have been perceived as argumentative, yet here we are. I simply agreed with someone else that Mzugu does nothing on here but criticize and troll. But has he ever received a smackdown? Not that I am aware. I've been an active member of this forum for more than a decade but I certainly don't have to keep contributing valuable intel if the moderators that be don't appreciate it.

The issue of content moderation is a challenging one. Facebook, Twitter, and all social media sites struggle mightily this this topic. What is truth for one individual is outright lies and trolling to another.

There is no way for a message board moderator on a site this large to objectively moderate this discussion as everyone's opinion will vary based on their personal preferences, experiences, motivations, etc.

Here are my personal observations on this. Where I think this board tries to balance the line is this:

Differ with the opinions and counter then.

Not the individuals. Don't attack the individual.

I don't recall the specifics of both posts that were removed, but I believe one post may have used another poster's history to bolster their argument that the information was inaccurate and then questioned their motivations for posting. I think that is what may have contributed to the removal and been considered "over the line. " (just my person opinion and observation. I have no affiliation with the board other than being a member.) I don't recall the other post.

A possible alternative approach to differing opinions about a location would be to leave the individual out of it and counter with how their own direct experiences differ from that of the other and why.

Not everyone is going to agree about how good, bad, pretty, ugly, etc ladies or a destination are going to be. It's impossible to gain consensus on this. One person will go to Jakarta and love it. Another will go, get scammed, not speak the language, get stuck in traffic, be disgusted by the infrastructure, have a string of poor experiences with the ladies, etc and hate it.

I can't believe I am going to quote Antonin Scalia on anything, but I believe his quote was something along the lines of, "attack the idea, not the individual."

I don't have a horse in this race either way other than wanting to see continued valuable contributions to one of my favorite destinations. So I offer this as my observation and opinion only.

Just warning others. At T2 airport after you exit the baggage area there is a row where there used to be a lot of ATMs but only 1 remains.

Someone has done something to it so it gives a msg that money isn't available but it still deducts it from your account.
