I've been a regular at Classic for a few months now, and I've developed a short list of my favorites. The ground level is where I frequent the most because the atmosphere is more relaxed, whereas the 2nd level is a bit chaotic and high-pressure from mama sans, but there is a much bigger selection of ladies. For some reason, on the 2nd floor, only the ladies on the right side (when you enter) give BBBJ, whereas on the left I've always been told CBJs by mama sans, so I've only selected ladies on the right side. The top floor is wide and spacious and ladies are easily visible from the tables in one location, rather than scattered in the lower floors.

I don't worry much about "high pressure from the mama sans". They will leave you alone soon enough after you refuse some of their girls. I actually don't mind them bringing girls over. It gives me a chance to look at them standing up. I can always call them back later if I refuse them at first.

However, what I do not like on the 2nd floor is how crowded it is in the evenings and nights. Bunch of locals smoking their lungs out in every cranny of the place. I may venture to the 2nd floor during the day, but I try to avoid it at night. I normally won't even consider going there, hotel travel, penjay, or any of those other cheap venues that are crowded with smokers at night. At night, I agree with you that the ground level at Classic is good because the atmosphere is far superior. Relatively few customers and far less smoke. The girls on the 2nd floor are much better looking, but it's pretty easy to find at least one doable girl on the ground level. If I go to Classic at night, I hit the ground level and if I don't see anything I like, I normally leave and go elsewhere rather than going up to the 2nd level. That's also the reason why I like Kings Cross. Kings Cross charges a decent cover so cheap ass locals who like to hang out and chain smoke aren't cramming the place to capacity with smoke. Malioboro is also a good environment, but it can be pricey. There are few places in North Jakarta that I will visit at night simply because I can't stand being around smokers. I think Indonesia is probably 2nd in the world as far as percentage of population who smoke (behind China).

The one exception to the smoker rule I will make is when visiting Blok M. My Bar is a horrible hell hole of a smoker pit with terrible ventilation. But when it's 4 am and nothing else is available as an option, I will go there on occasion.

Will be spending this winter in Asia and trying to decide the best place to spend the Christmas season. I made the mistake of spending a good part of Ramadan in Jakarta this year and though I found a few winners, it was generally dead. What is Jakarta like last half of December?

Did anyone else go to BATS last night? That chick in the red dress standing near the stage all night with her tits half hanging out and the big ass may actually have been worth 2.5. I kept hoping for those tits to slip out of that dress, but they never did. When I first arrived, the talent was weak, but later in the night it was pretty good. I had a girl in tow so it didn't matter either way. I didn't think the band was very good though. That's the first time I have been there since they switched bands. The last one was excellent, this one is meh.

There was an interesting argument between an Indonesian girl and the BATS management outside the front door as we were leaving. I'm not sure what was going on, but she was really going after that manager. Pretty good looking chick who spoke great English. She would have been a top 5 looker in the bar had they let her in. The manager kept telling her "we don't need your money".

Another thing I found entertaining was a couple of guys out front of BATS waiting on a taxi. The one guy was in his 20's and the other in his 30's. Neither had a girl as they were leaving and the guy in his 30's was berating the other guy for not liking any of the girls, telling him he couldn't even get laid in a *****house. I was like that young guy when I first arrived in Jakarta.

Well, to be fair, I don't read beyond the first couple pages in these forums. So all the past posts and squabbles are lost to me!! Posting is also tedious because I am moderated so my posts are sometimes dated. LOL.

The passport page information is just dated. I thought important to those of us who travel to our playgrounds to have correct information. I actually thought a senior would have chimed in earlier. The new appointment system is also a PIA. Sometimes, the next appointment is 2-3 weeks away. Another thing to keep tract on the calendar!

OK, second attempt to post a reply. As of today September 7, 2018 and on the US consulate website in Hong Kong, as per your source. As on January 1, 2016 they stopped issuing additional passport pages. You can go there to get more information. Tired of cutting and pasting.

I remember before then, there was a charge of 60 or 80 bucks. And before that it was free. Google is your friend.

I just renew my US passport instruct them to added more pages and they did it no fee, I added pages on my old passport 2 yr ago at the US consulate in Hong Kong they did it in 3 HR at no charge not sure where did you go to where they charge you most advanced country is now using the RFID chip to scan US passport.

Don't use stamp anymore.

I think rules have changed. I have not hit that point there recently. Several years ago, additional pages were no longer free so I just go a new one for the sake of convenience.

My first couple of days in Jakarta have been quite eventful. The number of tinder likes have been crazy, which is very surprising for me as back home in Mumbai, my luck with tinder has been fairly limited. Last 4-5 months with tinder has helped me get laid only thrice in Mumbai, while within first 24 hours in Jakarta, it happened twice. First chick in 20's came down in the evening, the plan was to go to Starbucks. I jokingly suggested to her to have coffee in my room instead and she like agreed readily. You're right, they don't see too many bules so you may find some are fairly timid towards strangers. Making it obvious you can speak BI to them helps settle the nerves somewhat but some still may refuse to go with a foreigner.

"Adding Pages: Effective January 1, 2016, Extra Visa Pages are no Longer Issued. As of January 1, 2016, the USA Department of State no longer adds visa pages into USA Passports. Previously, USA Passport holders had the option to pay for the insertion of additional 24-page visa inserts when valid passports lacked adequate space for entry or exit visa stamps. The decision to discontinue this service was made to enhance the security of the passport and to abide by international passport standards.

To mitigate the impact on frequent travelers, the Department began issuing 52-page passports to all applicants outside the United States starting October 1, 2014 for no additional cost. Applicants within the United States may choose a 28-page or 52-page book.

Requests for additional 24-page visa inserts will only be accepted until December 31, 2015. Beginning January 1, 2016, applicants in need of additional pages in their valid passports must obtain a new passport."

Before there was something like 60 or 80 charge for pages. And before that, pages were free. Used to have way more free pages than original pages.
