Maribaya you will never find it by saying that or the 6th floor. Got to ask for Melawai Hotel (grand boutique), Blokm.

Hotel Travel. Easiest for a taxi driver to find, find just ask for 'hotel travel, mangga besar' - every taxi driver will know that for sure.

Bluebird, Express (white taxi), gamya (green taxi), silverbird (black. Luxury bluebird brand), whitehorse (luxury express? Brand) are all good. Biggest worry is the ones that look like bluebirds that appear late at night in places like blokm and north Jakarta.

Some places. For example at hotel classic, they will give you a bluebird peice of paper that has the drivers registration on it, so if you have to do a runner, or get in trouble, you have their rego to followup. It keeps the drivers honest in my opinion.

It might seem a stupid question (and to be fair, it probably is) but if I just say "Classic Spa please" will that be enough, or should I have a little more geographical detail or a little map to help the bloke? !

my bet is that she thinks she is a half pakistani girl, but she's really a half dutch girl. her mom was likely sleeping around on the side. i've made quite a few trips to pakistan. i've never seen any locals there with blue eyes. i'm sure they may exist, but they would be quite rare.

there's a very well known tribe in pakistan called the kalash, all have blue or green eyes. although muslim they also are also polytheistic.

i was taking the short pleasant walk from morrissey hotel to gondangdia krl station which takes you on a safe trip over the traffic in a sort of blade runner speed too travel hotel / kota. with time to spare i stopped off at the dutch era orphanage to chat with some of the kids and helpers. as usual quite a number of bare-back accidents of mixed parentage but i did notice one particularly jovial girl with green eyes and freckles all over her arms and legs. if any of you guys reading this post of a freckled hue. they welcome donations.

I'm in Colombia now, but as soon as I'm back in Spain, I'll search for a photo of a "blue-eyed" half Pakistani girl, named Putri, I once met in Jakarta.

It would be a hell of a coincidence if she is the same one FE48 mentioned.

My bet is that she thinks she is a half Pakistani girl, but she's really a half Dutch girl. Her mom was likely sleeping around on the side. I've made quite a few trips to Pakistan. I've never seen any locals there with blue eyes. I'm sure they may exist, but they would be quite rare.

My ex indo girlfriend was an indonesian-pakistani mix. She had brown eyes, big breasts and whiter skin than most indos. Very sexy girl.

Years ago, when I lived in Jakarta and you announced several times in the thread that you were going to visit there, at first I invited and later I challenged you to meet. You never reacted! I mean, not even a refusal or an excuse did you mention. Wait a moment, that's not entirely true. You did cancel one appointment due to postponing a trip. Imagine my amazement, when you posted an FR about your experience in Jakarta, taking place during the trip that was supposed to be postponed.

But, you do seem to have visited all the places you mentioned. My mistake then.

I'll be in Jakarta from 21/12 2014 to 16/4 2015. I hope we can meet and clear things up then.

This is my first foray onto the Jakarta boards, and having RTFF I must say, thanks to all of those who have punted and reported before me! There's a wealth of information for those of us who are stopping in for a visit. I'm dropping in for a weekend and will have a very limited amount of time to monger, and will have to be outcall only. I've had a look through the posts to deem which options are the most appealing, and was just wondering how much information I need to give your average cab driver (bluebird only apparently!) in order to get to Classic, Mariabaya or Hotel Travel?

(Like I said, it seems a stupid question, but in Korea you'd struggle without more detail than that. I had a cabbie who couldn't find the "National Cricket Stadium" last week. As if there's more than one of those here!
