They just went home with you and you gave them a fair price (at the time it was 300,000 rupiah) in the morning. That was back when most of the westerners in Jakarta were oil and gas employees. Then came an influx of other westerners and the scene changed. Girls started getting stiffed by guys they went home with. That triggered them to start negotiating up front. I really hate that because it takes away from the GFE.

There are places to pick up freebies. X2, Immigrant and Dragon Fly are all possibilities. But not CJs, Bats, or Blok M.

I basically agree with you: although there are the odd rare non working girls in CJs or BATS, you'd be very lucky to meet them. I've only ever pulled a genuine freebie from CJs once and BATS twice over many visits. How do I know they're freebies? They've given me money back and said 50 k or 100 k is more than enough to get home, or had their driver take them back - and they have come back for repeat "engagements". It is important not to stiff the working girls - after all, if someone called FreebieFan says you should pay, that should make things clear enough for you. I remember the time when 300k - 500k for overnight was the norm, I'm afraid those days are long since gone.

I personally know some non-working girls who go for ladies night and they generally do NOT want a pick up. Just out with their friends for the music and drinks - although sometimes the "nafsu" takes control. I have also gone to CJs and BATS with freebies as well, and they like to watch how you interact with all the inevitable offers that come from the working girls. The more gentlemanly you are (even though they are not expecting a serious relationship) the more you may well get rewarded back in the room later YMMV. I remember one girl actually went off but had her friend tell her what I did after she left. I was duly rewarded for my good conduct the next day. Little did she know I had arranged for another girl to come to my room that night. There are plenty of freebies out there without disturbing the "commercial" market. Even then some of these girls need help getting home sometimes. Genuine taxi money is pretty straightforward too and similar to the amounts mentioned above.

Only P4P will be from Classic, I am assuming 2 times on my trip ($50 a pop..

$200 per day should be more than enough to include nightly action, download the Apps for the BusWay / TransJakarta and KRL railservices. The KRL rail services is an incredibly fast, safe and clean method of transport to get to the North / Kota area putting London and NewYork transportation to shame.

Thamrin Condotel has a pool for about $40 per night. Though Morrissey Apartment is everyone's $70 favourite these days and close to the Gondangdia station and jaksa / sabang budget food / drink streetwalks.

No harm in asking the online girls if they have their own car and drive themselves (w / o need for driver).

So you're looking for freebies? Well you can scrub 60 percent of the clubs you mention but you don't like high-end clubs so that's the other 40 percent out.

Not sure I follow you. I said I do not like high end clubs, not that I wouldn't go to them. I go where ever will get me a one night stand. Have friends who have had pretty good luck at X2, Red Square, and Immigrant. I listed 8 clubs of which I plan to go looking to pickup. 11 if you count BlokM, Bats, and CJ's. I have been able to get hookers for free in my travels. There is actually a term for it in my circle (shoring). But results vary wildly. Some countries is relatively easy (Brazil) and others is really hard (Costa Rica). So, I do not know how Indonesia will fare in that regard, but I plan to test out the waters. Some countries the quality is so bad it is not even worth it.

If I had to guess right now my lay report will look like this (5 nights).

Online- 3 (maybe more if I do one. Two dates everyday and things go smoothly).

Club- 1

Hookers - 3 (2 from Classic, and 1 shored from Bats, CJ's, or BlockM).

Even if you're willing to pay, on a budget of Rp 2 million per day to include hotel accommodation, food and drink, well you could manage it I suppose but you won't be living large.

But hey knock yourself out and don't forget the reports later, it'll be interesting to see how you get on.

Been doing the same routine now for 6 years all over Latin America and South East Asia. Hasn't let me down yet.

Just noticed those 50 ish dollar hotels around Grand Indo. Do not have pools. Is there a pool close by in walking distance I can access? If not I might have to up the accommodation budget and go nice airbnb apartment or nicer hotel in the area.

Finally made it to Jakarta. Malioboro is quite nice. Here's the thing though, in the lounge they have smoking hot women dancing and hustling for drinks, but the girls the mamas bring for local and foreign line ups aren't so hot. Is it possible to take the black and red bikini dancers to a room? No one on staff spoke English well enough for me to figure it out.

Classic on the other hand was as easy as point and go, though the mamas are all over you when you walk in. It's easy enough to ignore them and walk around until something desirable is found.

Yes as you can see I want to get a sample of everything Jakarta has to offer. And yes I did do a ton of research. That is only maybe 1/3 of the clubs and bars on my intel sheet I had to break down smaller. As for my demographics I am a 28 year old American, won't really have a budget but I plan to potentially spend around 1,000 dollars for 5 nights on hotel, food, and fun. But the cheaper I can keep costs the better. As for my interests it is simple. Picking up women and partying. As for partying I tend to prefer the lower to middle class venues that play top40, hiphop, and rnb. I find the high end bars and clubs harder to pull from. I also do not like techno but am willing to go to the club if there is a good chance of pulling a chick out of it. Would love to go in to one of those places and pick up some freak high on E.

Basically I am looking for the liveliest / funnest places that are the easiest to pull one night stands from.

Don't mind Freebie. He is one of the haters I talked about from the Philippines boards that likes to follow me around ISG.

Colosseum is top shelf, recommended out of the 3. The others I find a bit seedier, more hookers, more drugs, more dark. But to be frank the experience is similar. You will be introduced to Kota style of dance music as all three of these.

Is Millenium open again? Last time I checked it, it was closed because it changed owner or something?

BTW never been to Colosseum, I guess I need to check it out sometime.

Umbra. On your list, is very different to the 2 others you group it with. Not sure if you meant to do that. Its more relaxed cool funky joint than any others on your entire list.

It is located in an area called 'kemang' - full of funky bars with a young crowd. Do some research on 100 bars website on 'Kemang' and you should what I mean.

I must say you have covered the whole spectrum there from seedy nightclubs full of drugs to modern funky ones, hotel bars with expensive hookers, fuck shops, hard core dance clubs and low-end expat bars. I think you could enjoy them all, but different horses for different course. So maybe indicate your age, your acting age, your budget, drug interest, and anything else and we can narrow it down a bit.

After compiling a large list of venues I have broke it down to this.

Bats / CJ's / BlockM. Classic Hotel. Mille's. Mailo Club.

Colosseum or Millennium or Golden Crown? Need to figure out which one is better.

Club 36 (maybe). 999 Club. UMBRA.

I would like to go to Classic either during the day or at night before clubbing. What would be the best time slot for day and night?

Also, am I missing anything of note here? I am thinking the above will give me a pretty good sample of the nightlife scene in Jakarta.

Context: in six months I've motorcycled some 13,000 km around Sulawesi, Flores, Lombok and Bali. .......Friday. Due to high praise by almost everyone here I walked into Malio Club to see what it is all about. I get it now. It's the Asians with Big Titties Bar! Due to its large reputation I was surprised to see how small the place is. The girls are persistent about buying drinks, kindly refused, but there are some gorgeous chicks here. One 9-teenie with an Oriental baby face, braces, had these huge tits gouging my eyes out. Incredible. Sat for two hours and admired the naked dancers on stage........

Enter the main building, get your bracelet at reception, walk straight in, hang a left when you see the sauna lockers, climb up the wide stairs one level, you-turn on top to the right and you will enter the lounge. There's no buying of drinks or any interaction here unless you ask for mama to bring you specific line-ups or girls for interview. Prices are locals 800 k, 1 million, and foreign 1. 75 million and 2 million. If you liked the rooms in Classic, Malioboro rooms are 5 star in comparison.
